Hats off to the mods at the battlefront subreddit for making the only April fools I saw that actually worked this year.
While some people believed it, that doesn't mean it was a good April Fools day joke; they're meant to be funny. There was nothing funny at all about creating a believable (at first glance) 'announcement' for something that is entirely possible and that people actually want. What they did was more trolling, just taunting people who actually want that.
April fools jokes as the name implies are meant to make a fool of people for the laugh at their expense. The non subtle jokes like blizzard's fighting game or Cash Catchem don't fool anyone. They were meant to be convincing. The reactions from the fooled are where the humor is to stem from, and this is the only thing I've seen the entire day that brought about not only fooled people but incited reactions from convinced.
April Fools' Day (sometimes called All Fools' Day) is celebrated every year on 1 April by playing practical jokes and spreading hoaxes.

A hoax is a deliberately fabricated falsehood made to masquerade as truth.
You're one of the day's "fools". Get over it. Calling them pathetic because they got you is akin to being a sore loser. Edit: Also a shocking amount of people thinking EA did this. It's a subreddit mod team. Community members. They don't make the game. They're mocking EA with it, not EA mocking the community.

There's a big difference between typical April Fools day hoaxes that make people believe something ridiculous and ones that parade something entirely believable that people actually want. The first of those is clearly meant as April Fools day fun, the latter is just being an asshole for the sake of it. "You believed Spaghetti Grows on Trees?" and "You believed a game people want that is entirely possible is being made?" are not the same. Things like this are basically just them saying "fuck you" to people who actually want them.
I said they got you, not that you believed it. Of course you aren't gonna believe something introduced to you as an April Fools trick before you even read it. You're still letting it get to you on the reactions front. I want a lot of things but I don't complain about every hoax about them, and when I see those it's not even on a day dedicated to bullshitting and pranking. And again, this trick is brought to you by people completely unaffiliated to EA, people who would enjoy the truth of it as much as you do. The devs aren't teasing you. Also I'm gonna disagree on the game that's possible part. The title of the post says DLC pack and they've already said directly no clone wars. The announcement wouldn't be made on a subreddit they don't control or on April 1st, either. [editline]2nd April 2016[/editline] IGN makes bullshit trailers like Zelda movies for April 1st all the time. It's not all shoe hippos. [editline]2nd April 2016[/editline] This time they did a darth maul Netflix series. Maul is my favorite. My only complaint is the production value makes it too obvious. [editline]2nd April 2016[/editline] Anyways it's April 2nd. No big deal now. Anyone here play old republic still? [editline]2nd April 2016[/editline] Preferably imp side on shadowlands server
Alright so awhile back i released the intro for this unannounced gamemode called extraction but when extraction for outer rim was announced it was nothing like this and as you can tell right off this isn't like that gamemode in the DLC cause there is no AT-AT or any vehicle on those maps. The odd thing the most in this audio is the guy telling the soldiers to reload when there is no reloading in this game. [HD]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ovn7_C7rkEQ[/HD]

That audio sounds like it should belong to a SP/Co-Op mission.
Playing on PS4, did they recently de-nerf the DL-44? It was good at launch, then it got shitty, now it's back to killing people in 2 shots. Even in the legs. ???
they've been fucking with that for a while, trying to find a sweet spot. give it a few more weeks of the reddit page bitching and it'll go back to 4 shots.
fuck the people bitching. i feel like a god with that thing now
The Rogue One trailer made me want to play it again, went for about 2 hours.
Did they Unlock the DL-44 for everyone for the weekend? I joined a server and it was unlocked. Now its locked again [editline]8th April 2016[/editline] If i'm playing as a rebel I can use the DL-44? [editline]8th April 2016[/editline] I like moments like this, defending corridors [t]http://i.imgur.com/Yc8kXm1.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/SBpm9EH.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/TT3ujrH.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/jQLLkJQ.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/OqyNbRh.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/Ujiq1ir.png[/t]
The Rogue One trailer made me want to play it again, went for about 2 hours.
Made me want to play Dark Forces again, and I went for more than 2 hours.

Those Luke and Vader voices though.
Those Luke and Vader voices though.
Vader's VA is a good Vader (Matt Sloan), hes been voicing him for years, I dunno what happened with this game. I think its the filter DICE used. http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0000005/?ref_=fn_al_ch_1#game
IMO he should've kept the tone lower though
A question about Star Wars: The Old Republic Which point did they reach with the Knights of the Fallen Empire chapters, exactly? I don't know, honestly, but I could as well throw a sub when the final one is released and do all of them in a single stroke (I stopped around the first shipment of chapters at the expansion's launch)
They're on Chapter 12 http://www.swtor.com/fallen-empire/chapters
There is no last chapter, but Chapter 16 will be the end of Season 1. (The bonus HK mission is marked Season 2 Episode 0) Chapter 13 comes out next month. They are offering extra free cartel coins for subs before the 11th though.
Does anyone else really dislike the "Stormtroopers always miss!" meme that people seem to take as fact? It's based off misinterpreting what happens in the movie and isn't correct, but people seem to think it's true. Fortunately it doesn't seem to appear in the any of the games, it would be even more annoying for games developers to take it as fact. Also, does EA currently own exclusivity for making Star Wars games (other than mobile games)? I hope not. I know there's a deal with them but i'm not sure if it means they're the only ones who can make them at the moment.
I don't take it as fact but I like the joke. It is pretty annoying when people try to use it as a legitimate argument or something though.
It was actually officially stated that the regiment of Stormtroopers on the death star and the like was given faulty blasters with the sights on wrong.
It was actually officially stated that the regiment of Stormtroopers on the death star and the like was given faulty blasters with the sights on wrong.
Seriously? Where? Honestly if that's the case, it's even more stupid and annoying. It's outright confirmed in the movie that they were letting them escape and that's why they were missing all the time.
Also this. Minus the laughing part, can't find a video that just has the quote.
It was actually officially stated that the regiment of Stormtroopers on the death star and the like was given faulty blasters with the sights on wrong.
I thought they were ordered not to kill them, so they could track the Falcon to the base? Or is that just a fan theory? [editline]11th April 2016[/editline]
Also, does EA currently own exclusivity for making Star Wars games (other than mobile games)? I hope not.
I thought they were ordered not to kill them, so they could track the Falcon to the base? Or is that just a fan theory?
It's not a fan theory at all, although I've seen it mentioned as a "fan theory" despite it being something the movie actually confirms. I re-watched ANH recently and Leia even says it was too easy to get away and that they were allowed to escape, and a scene right after that has Tarkin and Vader talking to each other with Tarkin saying how it's a risk letting them escape and that the plan to follow them better work.
and even when they get there, Leia's execution is delayed so she can be used as bait.
They also managed to hit R2, kind of, on Endor.
Am I the only one that's more excited for the new Lego Star Wars than I was for battlefront?
