Star Wars Gaming Megathread Episode II - Attack of the Season Pass

the grenade guys are tolerable, so are rocket troopers
but fuck the trandoshans with their own concussion rifles, seriously
The Dark Forces series still plays rather well.
Dark forces 2 is hard as balls though.
You have to emulate dark forces or use a ps1, and the ones I've touched in the series are loose Doom/Quake clones, which do have modern games. I suspect carbon copy engines too, explaining why both games have quality standards that are lasting.
The Jedi ones would be sweet to have controllers for.
I disagree. I feel that a majority of Star Wars game still hold up pretty well. The good far outweighs the bad.
The only one that comes to mind is Battlefront II and its multiplayer is shut down, and the resolution has issues
I think decent is a factor here. A lot of the games I can think of would likely be fixed with one patch if they got KOTOR2 treatment
[editline]14th April 2016[/editline]
KOTOR 2 doesn't really count because Disney fixed its issues within the last 2 years
[editline]14th April 2016[/editline]
I actually really wanna know why Disney updated KOTOR 2 but none of the other games that could use a lift
[editline]14th April 2016[/editline]
Actually now I sort of remember, they re-released it I think cuz it wasn't on steam and touched it up first
Still lame that KOTOR 1 is fucked and Battlefront 2 has no natural online support

Did Star Wars ever have a Diablo clone (besides any mobile freemium games or Disney Infinity's Toybox Takeover).
If they came out with a D3 RoS clone with star wars I'd play the shit out of that
the Grenade guys are the worst.
Also no autosaving.
It comes from an era with only quick save/load

I know, I played it at release :v:
I'm just so used to modern conventions now I just forget about it.

Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy were on the Quake 3 engine, but Dark Forces 1 and 2 were on in house LucasArts engines IIRC. Jedi Outcast was also on the Gamecube and Xbox. Academy was also on the Xbox but not the Gamecube.
I've been thinking about making another video showing off my SWG house, I've got so many pictures of it so i might as well. Does anyone know anything better than WMM that i could use?
I'm still unconvinced there's anything better than WMM that's free, so if anyone has anything otherwise I'd like to know too
Funny, this is relevant to that page from a page or so back

Peter Mayhew tweeted stuff from his copy of an older draft of the script. I dont know how to embed tweets, but it shows how Obi-Wan was originally going to survive his duel with Vader
Also mentions Vader's plan of putting a homing beacon on the Falcon
Any idea if the full draft is out there? I'd be interested in knowing what plans were had for Ben
Does anyone still play MBII?
Someone made some pretty decent Poe Dameron and Finn playermodels for Jedi Academy.

Their proportions are kinda wonky, but otherwise, they're pretty good.
Feels pretty weird seeing TFA models for a game over a decade old.

Those are super high quality for Jedi Academy.
Yeah, there's jaden and rosh replacements for both
I'm actually tempted to give it a run, I can't count how many times I've played Jedi Academy's story just to test out alternate skins and models.
I've also come to the conclusion that the unannounced last dlc for Battlefront will be Rogue One related. I mean, it comes out just after the movie, it's set in the original trilogy, there's new locations and units, it makes perfect sense.
Seeing that really pulls at my heart strings. It's amazing to see the modding community keeping the game so alive and fresh.
I know it's difficult for modern day developers to allow for modding support, but it's incredible how that game has been modified to become more rich than any other game like it.
I really hope they come out with a new Jedi Knight game but actually keep what made the game so good.
Since school is out I decided to resub to SWTOR and do Chapters 10-12 of KOTFE. I enjoyed them, looking forward to next one in May since Vette is back and my main is a Sith Warrior.
Also grabbed Blizz, His recruitment mission wasn't that bad.
Are you on shadowlands?

Yeah, MBII is still alive and kicking.

They've added cosmetics to weapons now.

Would still like a costume layer for weapons.
Wonder when unstable arbiter shoots up in price for being able to get a new one from it

"Not part of collection interface"
"From plunderer pack"
Oh for fuck sake here we go, it's gonna be cartel pack dyes all over again
At least these ones you can actually remove without destroying them.
Actually, I'm installing The Old Republic myself
I'm not subbing, I just wanted to get that achievement/award for doing all the class stories on both factions and, after the quest system overhaul, I think the time is right
That and I want to roleplay as a bitchy with a heart of gold warrior
I want to finish my Consular, but fuck Belsavis.
TFW you buy the wrong chest piece for Glowing Data Crystals and bind it to you before realizing it.

I bought the tanking version instead of DPS.
They really made companions in general overpowered after Knights of the Fallen Empire
So that you can do 2+ heroics and such without needing help from someone else.

That kind of kills the main purpose of a MMORPG, but I see the bigger picture at work
point of KOTFE was moving away from MMORPG territory and into KOTOR coop mode
Nonetheless, there's still a credit reward boost in heroics for each group member up to 4
I played through KOTOR 1 a few months ago and i've started playing through the 2nd one now. They're great games but the setting itself feels a bit wierd to me. Basically everything is the same as it is 4000 years later, if this was a few dozen or hundred years then it would be alright but having it 4000 years in the past and species behave the same, the same technologies exist and look very similar, the same sort of names for things, even ship designs are almost identical...it just feels a bit strange that for such a big time difference how pretty much nothing is different.
