For fuck's sake, not only the developers turned Star Wars: The Old Republic in a single player game (a single player game requiring a subscription, nonetheless), but apparently the players themselves utterly refuse to engage in any sort of cooperation whatsoever now
Wow.
I can still find groups for ops easy but trying to find people for star forts or even flashpoints is a real pain now.
Devs said swtor is kotor 3, 4 and so on.
I'd still prefer a proper kotor 3, that has revan and the exile team up, you could choose to play as one of them and co-op with a friend.
i dont care what the devs said, theyre the ones making the game of course theyre going to say stuff like that
its still not true to the original vision at all

Agree for left, disagree for right
When I went to go start up the multiplayer for Jedi Academy on Steam, some kind of Disney EULA that I hadn't gotten before with the game popped up for some reason.
Is anyone else getting this?
I don't have the link right now, but apparently battlefront had a campaign that was cut so the game could release before the force awakens, and battlefront 2 will have better singleplayer content.
Typical shit, rushing a game.
And it was EA's fault

The lack of a singleplayer campaign was one of the smaller problems i have with the game. There are far more things missing or wrong with than that.
alright got it

So basically they sold a product at full price while depriving it of a huge part and are admitting they did this consciously and without allerting the costumers?
Don't you guys oversea have something akin to class actions or something?

It seems like it's not just the singleplayer they decided to leave out so they could rush the game in time for the movie. To me its more like they decided against going for a full games worth of content and only went for the minimum possible with as little depth as they could, so adding a singleplayer campaign to what's already there wouldn't solve the problems i (and many others, it seems) have with the game.
oh wow, i just noticed this

i know they had the pre-order stuff available but i didn't think they would really try to copy battlefield's unlock packs.
Just finished the mission in KOTOR where you and your people get sucked into the Leviathan. That plot-twist.. it was just.. damn! :mindblown::hypeisreal:

This is the second time I see this argument in this thread when it comes to Star Wars: "Battlefront", so I'd like to point out that
a) Claiming that all triple A videogames developers resort to these tactics is plain false
b) Even if it was true, that wouldn't make said practices legitimate (it'd be like saying that, since many people don't respect the driving rules, then everyone aboard a car has a free pass to do whatever the fuck he wants)

Hey, i agree that it's bs, don't get me wrong.
But its the way the world works now, we better get used to it because it's going to keep happening.

you can also not buy the games that do this shit, wouldn`t really miss out on much especially in the case of the newest battlefront.
also this getting used to is worst advice ever because it gives up any chance of changing the way things are and they definetely don`t have to be like that e.g. the witcher 3

I'm pretty sure it was pretty explicit that BF would not have a true single player mode prior to release.

You're making it out like everyone who bought the game was swindled. I'm sure there are plenty of people who had tons of fun with the game and felt it was $60 well spent. There is no objective proper amount of content a game should have, especially with a game like Battlefront that is primarily a multiplayer game anyway.
I didn't buy Battlefront because while I had fun in the Beta I just didn't have an interest in getting it, but it had roughly the same amount of content as Titanfall and I enjoyed Titanfall enough that I felt it was well worth $60 despite the lack of a singleplayer component.
One thing is to say that an incoming game won't have a single player campaign as a legitimate choice on the part of the developer
Another thing entirely is to start building a single player campaign in a game and then say to the potential costumers that the game wasn't developed with single player in mind, effectively lying about the existence of the campaign

While that is true, it does objectively have less content & depth than the two previous games in the series. Even if someone feels it's worth the money, when compared to the previous games there is a lot less to it.

If it were Battlefront 3 being made by Pandemic I would agree with you, but its a reboot made by a different developer. They're not exactly bound to build upon what was in the previous games. People might have an expectation that they will, but its their own game, they can do what they want.

I just reread the article and I don't see what you're trying to say. They said they didn't work on it because they needed the time to work on the multiplayer because that was the main focus of the game. They never advertised the game as having a singleplayer, they didn't even say in the article that they had even started working on one. I don't see what they're supposed to have been lying about.
I think the title of the article is misleading and is implying that they had been working on a single player and cut it, when in reality they just decided not to do one from the get-go.
You know what, let's change the subject

I think it's impressive you managed to get to 2016 without already having the twist spoiled for you

I'm glad it wasn't. It has to be one of the best twists I've seen in a game. This game has been awesome so far and it makes me disappointed that I never played it sooner. I haven't been able to sit and play through an entire game in I don't know how long. I got it on sale for $2.50 and it's honestly kept me more entertained than half the games I've played that go for 10-20x the price of it. The story just kept me so interested and wanting to play more.

I consider a 10 on 10 game something that you can keep playing without losing interest.
I've played Kotor like 5 times [sp]Although i admit i've only hit credits once[/sp], and Kotor 2 a good 3 times. But more importantly i'm still on board to play them both again in the future. Definitely one of my favorite series.
i've completed kotors 1&2 a total of about 3-5 times each. that said, i always do the same thing each play through. i tried to be evil once and it hurt my feel goods

I always have a similar reaction, but there's a lot of fun/time saving/money making shenanigans to be had as a sith.
i've honestly never bought /anything/ during my many playthroughs.

I'm 100% dark, I think the only time I've gotten light points was once on accident.
