Star Wars Gaming Megathread Episode II - Attack of the Season Pass
So, I've been playing that Star Wars Galaxies NGE emulator thing recently, and it's actually really stable and pretty much up consistently now.
Remember back when it just went up and down and had endless bugs?
I've probably put in 40+ hours already if anyone else wants to join in.
You're limited to 4 player slots. If we wanted to do that SWG thing again, I'd be up for it. I have a female Jedi character, a lvl 90 entertainer (really just for image design tbh), and a character that my BF uses now and then.
If we wanted to get together and do a city, we'd need to get a level 90 architect. Also, the economy is fudded up, so we'd probably need to do some armor/clothing crafting as well.
What's wrong with the economy? Also, didn't they give everyone lots of stuff right away, even a level 90 character? That isn't a good thing if they did. I'd love to play NGE SWG again but i don't trust them at all.

The economy is fucked specifically because they gave everyone a free level 90 character, as well as all of the veteran rewards and pre-order rewards.
It's all the 1-per-account-lifetime stuff.
That means everyone has the speeder they'd need when it comes to high speed. Everyone has a mustafarian bunker, everyone can get immediate level 90 for PVP or even trader/ent.
There's literally no housing deeds on the market, but there are some good player cities with malls for clothes and such.
I think it's just that everyone was given too much. Though, I'm extremely enjoying levelling up manually. I used my level 90 coupon for an entertainer solely for the purpose of changing the way my other characters look.
Isn't that what i said?
Oh god I interpreted it as if you meant it was only going to be on PS4, my mistake.
And the only other DLC i recall them promising was the ones for the hobbit movies that weren't released at the time, but those never came to fruition.
They didn't even finish the fucking hobbit game, they just ditched the third movie altogether. It also had lots of bugs, the only lego game that ever crashed for me.
Like I said, I hope those ps4 preorder packs get released to the other systems, it's one thing to have a game exclusive to a system, but to have exclusive dlc for a multiplat is wrong in every way.
At least the handheld versions will be okay if the previous games on those systems (Lego Jurassic World and Marvel's Avengers) are anything to go by.

All that sounds really stupid. It suggests they don't know how to manage anything and don't care about trying to seriously set up a long-term server. Giving all the veteran and pre-order rewards right away means there are now a lot fewer rare and in-demand items, giving everyone a level 90 character means no one is going to do legacy and there's not going to be any real competition to set things up as a trader, and no one really has to work for what they want (at least on that character).

There's actually a lot of people doing legacy, including myself, as well as doing the expansions.
But I do dislike the level 90 giving. It's still fun.
SWG before the NGE or even CU was great, especially when it was new. Everyone starting out fresh, everything. People on their knees extracting resources to build their own harvester to take over, then building their own small house deeds. No mounts, no shuttle ports, walking across the entire planet was how you traveled. 10 minute waits at Starports to go between planets and everyone would crowd around and duel & chat
Everyone had to work for what they had, and that was the fun
Well, somebody got their hands on LEGO TFA, and started the madness with an upload of the ROTJ Endor level which serves as the prologue.

I can feel a bit of my reservations about the modern approach sticking out here in terms of how some of it is slapped on while they focus on the voice acting. I'm not really sold on the Rebel fleet chowing down throughout the space battle, and the Royal Guards stuck out in a sore way more than anything. I'm liking how they decided to recut the Vader/Luke/Emperor faceoff, though, I'm sure the extended focus on Palpatine's powers as opposed to Lego Star Wars 2 having him resort to his lightsaber (a very prequel thing) is going to be exciting to some people. And returning the troop command ability from the Clone Wars game is brilliant. Only real nitpick I have is not being fond of the redesign of the HUD that has followed the same general format through all the games since their first LEGO title.
Also, the gag with Anakin's face reveal killed me.
On the other hand, watching this makes me remember how one thing I've been thinking would be cool is if TT could take the time to go back and remake the original LEGO Star Wars with their new game design and the updated LEGO model/minifigure designs to draw from. Granted, that they might lose charm from the voice-acting approach is still in the back of my mind, but I don't think it would hurt, especially with how primitive the very first game's tackling of Episodes I through III seem today by comparison.
It's been a while since I watched ROTJ, some dialogue I wasn't sure if it was new/rerecorded or from the original
In LSW TFA it seems like some stormtroopers have female voices, that's interesting. Kinda like Battlefront
Edit:
Yep, past Endor now and that is definitely the case. Nice
I'm unsure if they made the process easier, but the easiest way is to install SWG from the CD you have and I can send you their mod files. It was all over the fucking place with bugs and countless workarounds I had to manually find in the forums.
Let me do some research and see what they may have changed.

Yeah it looks all good now.
Just follow this:

And at the very bottom it says to contact Account Management if you can't connect..
Make sure you make an account on their website, that will be your login information. I think you may have to submit a forum thread to white-list your IP (Look it up at ipchicken.com or something). If that's still the case, they will need that for you to connect regardless.

The CD i have?
Uh oh.

Most of it sounded new but Lando, Luke, Han and Leia is definitely from the movie.
If the Emperor Audio is new, they got Sam Witwer again, that man does a great Emperor
I don't care how it feels or whatever, but i'll always find the silent lego pantomiming the plot far more charming than voice acting.
I can see why they moved on but it's not the same to me.
I think the Ep7 segments will be better with the New VA because they got the actors. The Jurassic Park and Avengers games fell flat because they couldn't do any new dialogue with the actors, other then Coulson in Avengers
The Lego Batman games were great with VO because they were not adapting a movie, so they had their own dialogue.

[sp]They can't show blood in the game, so Finn's helmet gets pelted with food stains, also Poe is tickle tortured[/sp]
Here are all the playable characters in the game and the currently released DLC (I didn't realize the PT DLC was out already), Spoilers, probably.

[sp]there is a prequel character pack [/sp]
Not sure why you used spoiler tags
Because you did before you took it out
Well I thought it was a spoiler until I saw it was DLC
Well I'm too lazy to do anything about it
Is the Phantom Limb level pack out yet for PS4/3?
Found the Droid character pack, just can't seem to find that.

I really hope there are actual MGSV references in that
LEGO TFA looks pretty neat, lots of cool moments in the first level.

Phantom Limb was the name of the story in the comic it is based off
I loved the first space battle being at the Battle of Endor. Best space battle in the movies. Also, I hope you can get those B-Wings and A-Wings shown in the cutscenes. In the older LSW games they were unavailable.
Just realized Phantom Limb level isn't available until August
A lot of them returned, even Harrison.
It makes me happy hearing both Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford say the phrase "wookie cookie"
