So you can only play as Krennic or Erso in the Rogue One maps.
Makes sense, buuuuuuuuuuuuut
Probably only restricted to that new gamemode. Either that or they made a temporary restriction during that preview session for showcase purposes.

I think that's correct, it's restricted only to that mode.

Whoever they got to play Jyn, sounds very close.
I'm currently playing through Knights of the Eternal Throne, the latest The Old Republic expansion.
I'd post some impressions when I'm done, but so far so good, with my only grip being that making [sp]Vaylin[/sp] the main antagonist was, again, a mistake (and [sp]her[/sp] still can't act for shit, so double kudos, I guess)
I love Vaylin, I think her acting is perfect for what she is [sp]It is explained why she is so insane, she gets an entire backstory[/sp].
"We could have made a pretty window"
You really don't need to spoiler that she is the villian, it was in the trailer, and pretty much that is the only way it can go from the end KOTFE.
Imo Vaylin is so ridiculously, cartoonishly evil that it's impossible to feel sorry for her even with the tragic backstory.
Whoever they got to play Jyn, sounds very close.
You don't suppose they got felicity jones to do lines, do you? It's not far-fetched, seeing as how finn, rey and kylo ren did va.
You don't suppose they got felicity jones to do lines, do you? It's not far-fetched, seeing as how finn, rey and kylo ren did va.
They already confirmed it wasn't her.
Tried the new DLC. It's...okay I guess? Small maps with a lot of foliage making things like autoturrets kinda annoying. Big bushes act as walls and it can be a bit hard to see where you're able to walk. I guess it just takes a little while to get used to it. It's a nice change of pace I spose but I don't think I will be playing it that much. Maybe more after I've seen the movie.
Today I finished The Old Republic's Knights of the Eternal Throne.
I suppose I achieved the golden ending: [sp]Arcann, Senya and Vaylin all helped me during the final boss fight against Valkorion, plus his dad was there too and helped me with Vaylin (who is fucking impossible otherwise)[/sp].
That said, I had to make two choices following my chara's roleplaying exclusively, [sp]having Vette killed in the place of Torian Cadera and becoming an healing pacekeeper instead of an emperor[/sp]. The former really broke me up, though.
If someone is unsure about picking this expansion up or not, here's my quick overview
PROs
1) The story angle is far, far better fleshed out than in Knights of the Fallen Empire. No stupid, pointless filler chapters, your choices have a greater weight and the overall plot is more tied to the overall lore of the game
2) They improved the presenation too, with better and more ambtitious cinematics and less environments recycling. Some of the new settings are also among my favorite from the whole game (I'm thinking of [sp]Nathema[/sp] above all)
3) There are several sudde, but extremely welcomed gameplay changes that help broke the monotony of the general flow a great deal (see below)
CONs
1) Vaylin is given a very central role in this expansion. She was a turd of a character before, and things haven't improved in this expansion, to the point you will get annoyed every time she comes on-screen. The attempts of the writers to give her a sympathetic backstory falls extremely falls and, again, her VA can't convey any kind of emotion whatsoever via her acting, in stark contrast to pretty much everyone else. Also, [sp]SCORPIO's[/sp], who was supposed to be another main antagonist, doesn't get enough screen time as it'd deserve and is dealt with easily very early in the expansion
2) At this point, the general gameplay of The Old Republic has become both increasingly stagnant and easy. Even the additional five levels didn't bring any new ability or change to the table, and your character tends to one-shoot people easily unless they have some gimmick attached. At one point I simply stopped following my rotation and started pushing my "fuck you" damaging abilities at random. And I still won every time. Basically, every issue the general gameplay had in Knights of the Fallen Empire hasnt't been addressed in KotET
3) Once again, once you have cleared the main story content, there's nothing to do, nor any added roleplayability whatsoever, to the point I'm starting questioning why someone should roll at characters at all. Uprisings are a cheap way to keep players sucked in, but they feature recycle assets galore and are, you guessed it, a grindy affaire with little payoff. The whole Command level is kinda cool though. Of course, no new Ops (raids) or BG (battlegrounds), so if you care about those, suck to be you
I really want to know what's the direction this game will take in the future, both when the gameplay and the story will be concerned (especially since, if I got this right, [sp]the Sith Emperor is gone for good[/sp])
Valkorion's [sp]Father took on and beat Arcann all by himself while I took on Vaylin, and he was in healing mode not DPS, I don't know if thats sad or not[/sp]
Also
[sp]The 'Dark side' transformation, it turns you into Revan, you literally a clone of Revan with your Character model. When you use a vehicle or embody someone, like Valkorian you're basically possessing an NPC[/sp]

Do you care to explain this to me a bit better? I'm geuinely curious
[sp]Does Valkorian have any dialogue with his father if he shows up during the final battle? I released him on Nethema so he wasn't there for me.[/sp]
[sp]Does Valkorian have any dialogue with his father if he shows up during the final battle? I released him on Nethema so he wasn't there for me.[/sp]
The answer is yes, and his reaction is something to behold.
Also, on a pure gameplay prospective, [sp]preserving Dramath inside the holocron is the RIGHT choice, as it gives you a companion for the fight against Vaylin, which is serious trouble if fought solo[/sp]
I had no trouble fighting her solo but I only did it on story mode
Yes, I meant to ask: what's the difference between story and veteran mode with the expansions' chapters? Are there rewards to clear them in veteran mode?
Veteran Difficulty
Available from your first playthrough for a greater challenge
It will be one of the best sources for getting command XP solo.
Scaled to your level, including your level. (60-70 for KOTFE, 65-70 for KOTET chapters)
Balance for mid-tier end game gear and an influence Level 20 companion. Made the assumption based on a DPS player playing with healer companion.
You can scale difficulty down at anytime, even during the Chapter. Scaling difficulty up requires you to restart the chapter. They don’t want you to blow through the trash at easier difficulty and then turn it up for bosses. Gotta clear hard trash as well.
New achievements to earn for playing on higher difficulty.
You can bring friends to help you on the Veteran difficulty, it will be easier of course.
NPCs do greater damage
I'm not sure how to describe it. They basically just give you control of an NPC with their powers. At least that is what was gleamed from data.

Basically you'll be shifted into a Lightside or Darkside shift, opposite of [sp]Valkorian[/sp],and you get like 4 abilities. The Darkside one gives you Revan's dual sabers but that's really the extent of it.
Lightside gives you some saber staff.

Half the weapons you get from the Hutt Contracts are almost entirely better than the base weapons. The exception this the DLT-44,EE-3, and A280. Anything else is usually Hutt Contracts and you'll be killed by then CONSTANTLY before getting them.
Also Jyn's A180, from the Hutt Contracts is fucking amazing.

grinding to make you constantly play the game so they can be like "oh hey people play our game lol now buy this dlc"
Scarif seems pretty unbalanced because in Space the Rebels are going to get a win because it's X-Wings vs TIEs. The X-Wings basically get a free unfuck up card with the shields and usually will be chalking up the kills. Force example I went 22 and 1 in an X-Wings but 7-8 in a TIE.
Infiltration is a massive pain when you get on the planet because Hero tokens never spawn or some retard grabs them and uses it up. The 2nd phase is particular annoying because you can disarm the Rebel's bombs with the shield up which basically gives you a free objective save if you pop in there. The last phase is pretty one side too, with Imps winning more times than Rebels from my experience. Hell I deliver the data disc and got told we lost despite having 10 seconds left, while it was playing the Rebel victory movie it switched quickly and said defeat. Seems like the clock still was running when I got there.
Haven't gotten to the Heroes because either I'm denied getting the token by some surprise enemy or some shithead took it before I did and died 20 seconds after.
Yeah, I've been mainly getting killed by players who have completed the contracts.
But it still pretty much require lvl 12s to reach that point and then doing all of the challenges.
Honestly if you got the season pass, do your best to get the EE-4 on the Outer Rim DLC because it's literally the do all gun. Stupid high damage at close range and medium range.

I absolutely hate how this has become such a thing lately, it's just bad design for no reason other than to be addiction forming

it would be much better if they gave the dlc maps and modes offline play, and allowed you to do contracts offline.
i could have maxed all my shit by now.

give me my screwing around with bots back
I wish they wouldn't rush things to release with the movies, it just hurts them in the long run, and I really doubt it affects sales much.
I wish they wouldn't rush things to release with the movies, it just hurts them in the long run, and I really doubt it affects sales much.
that's the thing, battlefront was released at a time where
- new movie was on the way
- tie-in map free for all
- had been a few years since we were given a new sw game (i don't count the mobile stuff)
so it was basically guaranteed to rake in the cash. i wouldn't have even been that annoyed at a MP only title if they had at least another ten maps in the base game and hadn't stuck to the one era.
Maybe Battlefront 2 will end up like Titanfall 2 where everyone got sour from the previous game and refused to pick it up.
i know i'm skipping it if it doesn't have the clone wars era.
i know i'm skipping it if it doesn't have the clone wars era.
Playing Rebels and Imps is really boring. Clones would be fun cause then Droids would need to have special classes IE SBDs,Droid Dekas, etc
I really like playing as Jyn and the other guy, and I love the new weapons, but the map is kinda meh.
