Honestly, Rogue One felt like a great Jedi Knight game, but on film. I can imagine multiple missions playing out really well from the locations we saw, even the one-off glance locations like the asteroid base. God, I really hope we get another game that plays like those did.
I got the same feeling but with the X-wings and a Rogue Squadron game. When the Rebels attacked Eadu I could just imagine the Rogue Squadron mission playing out it my head. Same thing with the assault on Scarif.
IIRC, you couldn't even say the name George Lucas together in a sentence in Star Wars Galaxies.
thats incredibly odd since Lucas used to insert himself all over never forget mailing in 50 box tops for a stormtrooper lucas figure
thats incredibly odd since Lucas used to insert himself all over never forget mailing in 50 box tops for a stormtrooper lucas figure
Or the fact that the main character of Star Wars was named Luke S.
thats incredibly odd since Lucas used to insert himself all over never forget mailing in 50 box tops for a stormtrooper lucas figure
It was definitely hit by profanity filter. If you turned it off, I don't remember what it would do.
Or the fact that the main character of Star Wars was named Luke S.
I... never actually noticed that. Wow, that's weird and probably intentional.
thats incredibly odd since Lucas used to insert himself all over never forget mailing in 50 box tops for a stormtrooper lucas figure
Hey, that only took five other figures and a Proof-of-Purchase set of stickers, it wasn't that crazy an offer.
Today I learned there are mods for Republic Commando http://www.moddb.com/games/star-wars-republic-commando/mods
Anyone here still play SWGemu or are interested? Figured I could help people who are interested into the game and hook up with existing FP players.

Downloading Battlefront for 4-hours trial, but looks like there is discount for base game. Is it worth to buy it for ~12$? I don't have enough money for season pass. Are there "enough" players for base maps and modes or everybody are playing DLCs? Edit: Guys, to be honest I asked two different questions, and I don't know on which one you agree or disagree.

Some specific maps/game types can have you waiting in a lobby for hours. The game is worth 12 dollars, but I honestly think it's a very incomplete game without the season pass. If it's below 30 dollars with the season pass, it's worth it. if it's more, skip the entire thing tbqh
honestly i was for a while, but i couldnt decide on the server considering the precu combat is pretty atrocious but basilisk seems like it's the most populated by far
I think PreCU isn't really bad, once you figure it out It's pretty enjoyable. I think it's a good system but still needed a lot of polish to be really great. I don't care for CU because it majorly dumbed down the combat Mechanics instead of improving them, while I agree PreCU was flawed CU completely changed the mechanics and made it similar to every other MMO instead of fixing the existing system and making it better. This was seen by a lot of us at the time as a massive slap in the face, and a major reason the MMO failed was because the dev team didn't listen to the community hardly at all. HOWEVER, I know there are people that like CU a lot more and that's totally fine, I don't really mind CU as much. As long as we both agree that NGE is complete and total cancer. If you ever decide to give to another shot let me know.
There's nothing wrong with NGE SWG overall. It added a huge amount of new content and for that reason i prefer it to pre-cu, despite things like the Combat and class system being more in-depth before. I tried to play the EMU but as someone who mostly enjoyed things like the housing system, it just isn't anywhere near as good.

Spend 20-30 minutes with a Ranger tracking one, find it, then cue the 15 minute fight to bring it down. When the CU hit. Krayt Dragons were just a trash mob at about half way to level cap. What a joke, And their solution was to then just make them a slightly harder elite that was still super easy to take out. Then the NGE hit. 24 hours notice. 36 or so professions dropped to 9. Jedi was now a class you could start with (RIP the guy who paid a thousand dollars for a Jedi account days before NGE hit) No need for smugglers, One weapon in each class was clearly the best and often dictated BY the profession you were instead of letting you pick and specialize. No need to repair or buy new ones so Weapon/Armorsmiths didn't have return customers. There wasn't a system that let you Transmog for a LONG time after NGE so tailors didn't need to exist but were loved before NGE. Entertainers? Who the fuck cares now, they played a vital role for everyone before, but not now. What a shit show And then people wanted to level pets, and options to level were pretty limited post-CU and in the NGE, and the best place was to kill Kaadu's outside Theed. Well the no fun police at Sony decided to stop that the only way they knew how: By just making it inaccessible Surround the area in hostile level 500 (Cap was 90) Gold Elite mobs. And every class was identical to each other. If you were a Bounty Hunter and saw a Bounty Hunter, his stats, his gear and his skills were the exact same as yours. CU and Pre-CU was a mix match make your character YOURS. You'd have a Bounty Hunter running around with a polearm, or a Bounty Hunter that only went up the Carbine tree, and then also mastered the Carbineer profession. And his weapon/armor quality was dictated by the quality of the resources that were used to build it, as well as how well a smuggler sliced it for damage or fire rate, or protection/ecumbrance. NO Character was the same in the CU or Pre-CU, but in NGE, Every character was the same
You guys must have put the Kaadu on like... an inter-galactic endangered species list or something
My sides are in orbit right now... I didn't stay on much longer after CU, and I came back to try NGE (when you could still fire as fast as you could click), so I never knew this. Then again, this is SOE we're talking about so that kind of horseshit doesn't surprise me.
The only good thing about NGE was the addition of more clothing/armor/vehicles/pets and anything cosmetic. pre-CU servers today really lack depth of content. I also really enjoyed the story lines of some of the Legacy quests.

I think it's pretty stupid for people to hate NGE SWG entirely, i understand not liking the changes made and it's fine to not like those, but as someone who preferred the other aspects of the game like Housing, pre-cu just doesn't compare at all.
I wish had been there for the last week of the game, they enabled flying on planet surfaces, it would have been cool to see it all from above.
While that was something I always wanted, I heard it was a bit too much. It just makes me want a Star Wars total conversion on Star Citizen, though. Ugh. I personally loved NGE. I wasn't a huge fan of certain aspects, but to this day I haven't explored that entire game. When I played online back when it was live, I mostly messed around with housing and roleplaying, as well as PVE quests and getting rewards. It wasn't until I replayed it in SWG: Legends recently that I actually finished all of the Legacy or looked into all these different instances I never knew existed. It's like a whole new game. Pre-CU had the best profession system, but everything else is very dated and clunky and missing content.
One other reason the NGE sucked was the player count dropped. It died. I think all those well populated servers dropped to maybe 4 that were acceptably populated, and even those were just ghost towns of player made cities that no longer had people in them. Vendors and Malls ceased to be a thing (Just about Every waypoint you found for a mall would be a well decorated building missing vendors because maintenance expired). Then the people who remained couldn't even build their own cities because the planets were at max capacity with ghost towns One of the driving focuses for SWG was the social aspect and it just disappeared almost over night

That certainly wasn't how it was for me and i played if for several years until the end.
Did you actually play NGE? I remember 95% of 'stores' were without vendors because everyone left, and it was only after a bunch of servers closed and consolidated the populations (Bria was where I played after Tarquinas shut) that it became less empty, but there was still the issue of planets being at capacity for cities that were mostly empty for a while
So when where they planning to set that maul game?
So when where they planning to set that maul game?
At the start, Clone Wars Era Later in development, Legacy Era
Apparently Star Wars: The Old Republic will host a special event from the 7th of February to the 10th of April where you'll be able to gain experience at 2.5 the normal rate. I don't know about you, but I think this is a golden opportunity to level up something and, when it comes to yours truly, finally get around those boring Republic-side class stories

Awesome
Ill never complain about some extra XP [editline]4th February 2017[/editline] I was waiting for this infact
Regarding the SWTOR expansions, do I have to buy all of them or just the latest?
Regarding the SWTOR expansions, do I have to buy all of them or just the latest?
You can't buy them per say (You can unlock them for cartel coins if you want), But if you subscribe for the $15/mo you have access to all of it, and if I recall, if you let the sub run out, you retain access to what's currently available at the time it runs out. So anything that releases after will require subbing again That's how it was during Knights of the Fallen Empire and I don't think they've changed it for Eternal Throne The game isn't really worth playing without a sub IMO because of all the restrictions. But if you ONLY plan on doing the vanilla story classes then it's fine
Just finished installing; how do I know which server to pick? I want to start over but the servers doesn't specify population anymore
