I'm on Progenitor since I prefer the more story-focused community but I hear The Red Eclipse is the best EU server with the biggest community if you wanna focus on PvE and PvP. [discussion about that very question here]
Yeah I asked some guy in game and he told me to pick Red Eclipse, so I boosted a rattataki sniper to 60, saving the 65 boost for later

welp, just discovered you got to chose between boosting to 60 OR 65 :suicide:
Anyone know any good ways to play modded Empire at War: Forces of Corruption? Preferably without using Hamachi as it destroys my friend's computer.
GameRanger?
Well, looks like my laptop is corrupted by Dark Side, because my Battlefront is freezing everytime when I'm playing Luke.
Have Han put you into a tauntaun

One down, three more to go.
Since there has always been a great stigma against the Jedi consular story on the web, I'd like to point out few things:
1) The first act of the story is unbeliveably boring and uninspired. While all the first acts of the class stories can be described as glorified fetch quests, the Consular's is too painfully obvious, and it doesn't help every planet basically features the same plot (get on the planet because resident Jedi master is suspected to be sick, meet people who're all like "Nah, not possible", follow the master's trial as you uncover his/her misdeeds, face the boss and either kill or save him/her)
2) The second and third acts are far better, but even in there there are few genuinely interesting and "cool" moments and the rest is The Old Republic standard writing, especially compared to the other classes. But compared to the first part is a definitive, noticeable step-up
3) The consular is incredibly difficult to roleplay. On top of the male VA being incredibly wooden in everything he says, you can either act as a bookworm, a sanctimonious goody goody two-shoes and a Inspector Javert/Judge Dredd callous expy. There's no in-between
4) The companions, save for maybe Nadia Grell, are either extremely generic and don't stand out among the story's cast (Quyzen, Iresso) or feel extremely out of place with your character, and not in a good way (Tharan Cedrax). And there's Zenith. I didn't get what he's deal is, but he wasn't memorable at all
Star Wars Battlefront 3: legacy is now in open beta!

I'm asking here because, honestly, I don't know what to do.
I know that not so many people play or have played The Old Republic here, but here goes nothing.
I want a dark side second character for the past level 50 content beside my light-to-neutral side Sith assassin, but I don't know which one between a Darth Vader without any redeeming trait expy Sith warrior or a more sociopathic Admiral Thrawn expy Imperial agent (except, you know, a cyborg and not a Chiss).
In favor of the Sith warrior, he has always been one of my favorite classes from the game, story-wise, I'd love to romance Vette and the final sequence of Rogue One is still pretty clear in my mind. Thing is, he's still a Sith, so.
In favor of the Imperial agent, he'd give me a totally different angle from my Sith assassin and I have a nice roleplaying plan in mind, but I really don't like the agent's companions and a ranged dps won't be my usual cup of tea (I can't play an operative because he'd be too similar to my Sith assassin, gameplay-wise). Also, I keep hearing that non-Force users classes don't mesh too well in the story of Kotfe and the following content.
So

Thanks to the exp bonus in SWTOR I was able to make Sith Sorcerer.

From my POV ranged sniping seems to be the worst of any combat spec that isn't PVE. PVE you're fine , but when it comes into PVE you're going to get hounded by a lot of bullshit abilities that well over 99% of the PVPers use. For example, in PVP most classes and their advanced class are:
Jedi Guard/Sith Jugg
Sent/Mara
Shadow/Assassin
Sage/Sorc
Vanguard/PT
Commando/Merc
Scoundrel/Operative
With Jedi/Sith classes being the near entirety of PVP along side non-force user healers. Ranged DPS is next to useless due in part most the classes you'll be fighting if you're say sniper spec which has the highest damage output, goes against classes that have tons of defense cooldowns that either negate all your damage, or heals them for an absurd amount of HP. So you fight a Commando one on one and you're sniper spec. Well good luck because they have 3-4 abilities that adsorb all damage, one that lets them deal rapidly when below 40% HP so you're fucked if you plan on being a burst killer. Virulence IIRC is the best for PVP but even so you're anchored to one spot while other classes can move about or get at you from distance too.

Fucking finally.
Some pointers for whoever is curious about the Republic class stories:
- The Jedi knight story is severely overrated, and it gets interesting only if you play it relatively light side (in a "actions with consequences" kind of way)
- The Jedi consular story is just not worth it overall, even if it picks up steam significantly after the first act
- The smuggler story is the one Republic story I'd generally reccomend, because it provides an unique angle and has a very welcomed comedic vibe
- The trooper story is severely underrated, althought the second and third acts don't provide any exciting turns and you must mostly take your enjoyment from being a badass soldier a la The Clone Wars or Republic Command alone. Else, it's not worth it
The next Battlefront will be at SW Celebration in April.

Alright, I'm giving anyone still interested in The Old Republic one last pointer (personally, I'm putting the game on hiatus indefinetely, since I got the Legendary status I wanted and the gearing progression in this game has become anything worse thaninfuriating, especially the whole uprisings model): do not plan to play any non-Force users classes past the vanilla content if you actually care about the story/roleplaying angle.
Maybe this is due to me having played both KotFE and KotET with a Force user, but the difference is there, and it's noticeable. And it's not pretty.

Does even the Imperial Agent not work very well? I was considering resubbing to play the expansions as them.

I in fact used a level 60 character token to roll a sniper and see if the whole thing was worth it. I played KotFE till the Anarchy in Paradise chapter, then I quitted.
Story-wise, I would agree that the Imperial agent is virtually the best non-Force user class to play the two expansion with, but:
- He/she suffers from the same problems of the other non-Force users classes in today's TOR storyline (you feel like a companion of the other main characters, not the the other way around, and the impressive feats Force users are capable of in cutscenes don't recive a proper non-Force user version)
- On a very elementary level, as far as roleplaying goes, the Imperial agent is an infiltrator and a relentless assassin. Becoming the acting ruler of the whole galaxy is just totally against the character. It gets worse if you roleplayed your character as an Empire/Sith Intelligence/Republic supporter, as those organizations don't exist anymore. So suck to be you, I guess.
Bioware confirmed you don't need to be subscribed to play the new Iokath stuff coming in 5.2, you only need to be level 70
The Battlefront II panel at Star Was Celebration is at 2:30PM ET on April 15th, it will be streamed, and there will be a trailer.
There's only one Battlefront II. It was released in 2005.
Of course EA would want to cash in on that title.

The last one was called Battlefront. Of course the next one would be called 2, it is only logical.
I was betting on "Battlefront: The First Order" or something similar.
DICE's trailer editor has said that the BF2 trailer is the biggest trailer they've ever produced
DICE's trailer editor has said that the BF2 trailer is the biggest trailer they've ever produced
They said the same shit about Battlefied 1. It was p cool but nothing groundbreaking.
I'm just gonna wait for the EAfront 2 trailer.
But that was what I was talking about? :v:
I finally have my own flagship in The Old Republic.
[sp]How not to waste 50 million of credits...[/sp] :v:
I'll be going to Celebration this year, so hopefully I get to see all the new trailers for upcoming games in person.
Holy moly galactic battlegrounds is good. I honestly didn't expect it to have so much content in it or drain almost 100 hours of my life away but it did.
