Classes will be familiar and 'iconic to Star Wars'. Heroes and Classes can be upgraded.

the crowd goes wild
No word on what their "offline co-op" is, but given they've listened to the fan feedback and basically turned the rest of the game into what it should have been the first time (and thus making it a true Battlefront game), I remain cautiously optimistic that this is some sort of Skirmish upgrade.
ha, the jeers and boos when they started talking about preorders
This is a TLJ Trooper helmet, you can tell by how the black areas on the left and right narrow near the bottom

This almost looks like the Skariff shield station, but I don't actually see a shield, so it might just be a similar designed structure.

The planet below it - or what we could see of it - looked like Scarif.
The four classes are Officer, Assault, Heavy, and Specialist
Alright, Dice, you've piqued my interest, now don't blow it

Alright, I'm aboard.
I like the better faithfulness to the original games and the main story premise of the single player campaign (following the transiction between the Empire's remnants and The First Order)

I can't tell if the red robed character is actually the Emperor or an inquisitor-like figure

Imperial Raider

It was made for X-Wing : The Miniature Game first, and is slowly cannonised through books and now battlefront.
I really want to buy it now :c
I really, really want to see Rogue One stuff.

It's a messenger droid, previously shown in Shattered Empire.
They sent out posthumous orders from the Emperor to Imperial remnants after Endor. They're basically Sheev bots, with his face displayed on their screen.
You really learn something every day, it seems

I really like that he had made plans to fuck over the failures in Empire but still reward those most loyal to him if he ever died. It almost feels nice of him and helps to sell the idea he believed in what he was doing with the Galaxy.
Was there open beta for EA's Battlefront?
Was there open beta for EA's Battlefront?
I believe so.
Of course, EA has to ruin things immediately with the cancer of pre-order characters.
I would pay big money for the chance to be a part of a deadly gauntlet for EA execs.
I think they'd be happy to take that money.

They're cosmetic skins not characters.
Exclusive Kylo Ren- and Rey-themed looks, inspired by Star Wars™ : The Last Jedi™
However the rest of the pre-order bonuses are pretty bad:
Upgraded versions of all 4 trooper classes (Officer, Assault, Heavy, and Specialist)
4 epic ability upgrades—one for each trooper class
Instant weapon unlocks and weapon modifications for each trooper class
Epic ability modifiers for Kylo Ren and Rey
An epic ability modifier for the Millennium Falcon
They're all stuff you can unlock in game AFAIK, which is fine. But they give you boosts to classes, immedatly causing imbalance for those who don't not pre-order.
Pre-order bonuses should not be non-cosmetic.
Like the Jakku pre-order bonus for BF1 was fine because everyone got it a few weeks later for free.
I'm still curious if vehicles will still be pick-ups or not, I would love for it to basically be cloned from battlefield with how they utilize tanks where once you plop into it (physically in the FUCKING MAP) your upgrades/customization is shown. If they're getting rid of star cards, It'd be weird to keep vehicle pick-ups in my opinion.

I would at least like to have spawning in vehicles, like Battlefield.
Physically spawning vehicles would be preferred, though.
Something I just noticed from the official website
"Team up with a friend in two-player offline split-screen play* Earn rewards, customize troopers and heroes, then take your skills and upgrades to the online battleground."
Your offline progress carries over to Online. Yes! Didn't do that in BF1.
If hero skins are a thing, I want a Matt the Radar Technician skin for Kylo Ren.
Battlefront 2 seems like a huge step in the right direction with all 3 eras, classes and space combat, but they've not said anything about the other significant issues the game had. It mentions abilities which suggests Star Cards are back, we don't know how vehicle spawns will work, or if Space Batles are ships only, or if there are powerups again, or if the general gameplay will be aimed at a different target audience than 8+ etc
The new content is awesome, but if the underlying game is the same as before (just now there are classes with different weapons options and abilities), it's not going to be enough.
Edit: Seems powerups are still there, vehicles and heroes aren't tokens but are allocated somehow (mentions of a "resource based" system), the different classes are the same for the eras just with different appearances...
I know we won't likely see it. But every since playing Pandemic's Battlefront 2, i've always wanted to be able to have different era battles, like; The Republic vs The Empire, or CIS vs The Empire. Like what we saw in the 501st campaign.
I feel that even if the core gameplay is very similar to the previous Battlefront, all this extra stuff will make up for it.
Classes strongly implies we'll be seeing more classic battlefield-like gameplay, and if the space battles are the board-and-sabotage gameplay, it'll be perfect.
Gotta admit, it's kinda difficult for me to resist the urge to preorder right now, but I think I'll wait for more details about actual gameplay before I do.
