I find it highly unlikely you'll be boarding the ships. It is only a 24 player game mode, and the star destroyers are to scale, I don't think dice would do the hub with rooms like the originals It will probably be similar to the space section in the Death Star DLC [editline]16th April 2017[/editline]
Edit: Seems powerups are still there, vehicles and heroes aren't tokens but are allocated somehow (mentions of a "resource based" system), the different classes are the same for the eras just with different appearances...
They might do it like Battlefield 1 where you can spawn as the vehicle
Speaking of space battles, I hope spaceships size will be more accurate.
Speaking of space battles, I hope spaceships size will be more accurate.
Well the Star Destroyers were certainly big in the Death Star DLC. No idea if they were to scale, no real way to measure it.
Someone on Reddit said it was confirmed that you'd be able to board capital ships. Was this on the stream?
Someone on Reddit said it was confirmed that you'd be able to board capital ships. Makes me hopeful.
That might be concept art for a cutscene
That might be concept are for a cutscene
Yeah, don't get too excited over concept art. Doesn't mean it'll get in, nor do we have any way of knowing what they wanted it for.
Based on the trailer the cutscenes are going to be Gorgeous. That shot over what I assume is Jakku with the x-wings falling out of a hangar was cool
I was surprised to see what looked like Scarif since it's not really from the mainline movies, which make me wonder then just how many maps will this game have at launch. Typically DICE do 9-10 maps for multiplayer on launch but seeing that we have the PT, OT and ST and also side stories I have a feeling we might see a lot more than their normal output. I guess Motive taking reigns for the singleplayer portion allows them a lot more freedom in terms of multiplayer content compared to say Battlefield where they do both SP and MP.
I'm not sure if that is Scarif, unless the shield was disabled, I don't see it. Anyways there was Scarif DLC for BF1 so they could just port the assets over
Personally I'm hoping it is Scarif and now that they don't have the limitations of "YOU CANNOT SPOIL ROGUE ONE OR WE CUT YOUR PAYCHECKS" hanging over their heads, they can give us something closer to the actual battle that happened there. Come on, you know you want to attack the gate and the Star Destroyers as rebels, or on the flip side blow up the rebel fleet including their fancy Mon Calamari cruiser
It does say on the website that you'll also be attacking stations in space battles as well not just capital ships
It does say on the website that you'll also be attacking stations in space battles as well not just capital ships
Oh God... [sp] Hammer Head pickup for Sacriff map. Your goal is ram an SD.[/sp]
I skipped the last Battlefront, but as somebody who loves the old games to death I'm a lot more interested having heard the changes now. I hope the gameplay can measure up with classes and the like, that recharging card thing was pretty stupid.
Dedicated servers confirmed, no word on Server Browser. hold on, multiplayer mind tricks? that sounds pretty fun.
hold on, multiplayer mind tricks? that sounds pretty fun.
And potentially incredibly frustrating
I know in the old Jedi Knight games it just made you invisible to the tricked person. But the way it says cause confusion, I think it might change how friends and foes appear to you.
I hope they get rid of the hero pick ups
If BF2 is good, then can we just rename it Battlefront and ignore the first one
Weapons modifications? Oh God, please no, leave it for Battlefield.
Weapons modifications? Oh God, please no, leave it for Battlefield.
Blame Rogue One. [editline]16th April 2017[/editline]
I hope they get rid of the hero pick ups
http://www.gamesradar.com/x-star-wars-battlefront-things-you-need-to-know-now-about-right-now/
They’ve changed the hero system in multiplayer this time around. Instead of tokens to pick up, there’s some sort of ‘resource based system’ to earn your place. That’s all being said for the time being but the implication is that you won’t be able to just wait for a pick up, you’ll have to be active in the match to get your chance.
Sounds like Heroes may work like they did in the original games. [editline]16th April 2017[/editline] There is a brand new planet in Battlefront II called Vardos, it is the homeworld of the main character in the Single Player. It is that urban looking planet with the red trees seen in the trailers. Not all the SP chapters follow the main character sometimes you'll play as the good guys.
Weapons modifications? Oh God, please no, leave it for Battlefield.
This is Star Wars we're talking about. There are guns with grappling hooks and sniper rifles that can fire at full auto. As well as bowcaster made from an E-11 that sends stormtroopers FLYING. Han Solo's blaster pistol SHOULDN'T blow away stormtroopers, but it does. Star Wars is RIPE for modified weapons and attachments because they already friggen exists.
Weapons modifications? Oh God, please no, leave it for Battlefield.
Honestly sounds great to me Especially since this is canon, could make for some interesting tidbits
Weapons modifications? Oh God, please no, leave it for Battlefield.
like every major character's blaster is modified in some way [editline]16th April 2017[/editline] Also people complained how shallow the first games multiplayer was, weapon customization is a very easy and simple way to give a multiplayer game more depth.
Han Solo's DL-44 normally comes with a scope, which he illegally removed to facilitate quicker draws. Also, I'm pretty sure every bounty hunter that isn't some shitkid with enough money to buy a couple production model blasters customizes their tools.
I hope they get rid of the hero pick ups
I saw SOMEWHERE saying they are. That it's dependent on activity, I hope this the case because I cannot stand seeing the same fucks over and over get the hero token and die within 4 seconds or top the score board because they can't do anything other than camp the AT-ST or hero token. That being said, no fucking heal on hero kills. That made Bossk unstoppable in the right hands, because damaged if you, the fucker get 3% of his HP restored on kills. I've seen it and lived it where Bossk will be picked up at round start and live to the very end of the round. None of that bullshit.
I don't have anything against hero's modified weapons, because they are heroes after all - but mostly we are playing as regular soldiers. I don't know why I'm so sceptical about this. Also, personal shields are confirmed and back again.
I saw SOMEWHERE saying they are
Scroll up :v: I gave a source
