All the Star Wars Games on GOG are 77% off https://www.gog.com/promo/20170502_special_promo_star_wars I do recommend getting the games released before 2000 on GOG because they come with fixes not found in the Steam versions.

Tempting...so very tempting...
Speaking of game sales, Empire at War Gold is 75% off on Steam until the 8th.
Huh, EAW's base price on steam is cheaper then GOG's base price. At least in Canadian. I think GOG does direct currency exchange instead of set prices like Steam.
Sorry it turns out EVERY Star Wars game on Steam is on sale. That's a lot of saving.
How active is battlefront 2's playerbase right now? Was deciding on getting either battlefront 2 or republic commando.
I have an issue with Galactic Battlegrounds Saga from GOG. I installed the Expanding Fronts mod that also brings in a Widescreen patch and this keeps happening when I get into the gameplay section: [IMG_thumb]https://my.mixtape.moe/oorgfn.png[/IMG_thumb] Has anyone else had that problem and if so how can I fix it?
I have an issue with Galactic Battlegrounds Saga from GOG.
I don't know exactly how to solve your problem but I just wanted to say that, despite being an AoE clone, this game is so much fun.
I just got a steam update promt for battlefront II of 96MB I mean I downloaded the game fully yesterday and haven't played it yet, so what's with this? I don't usually question updates but for a 10 year old game, I tend to raise an eyebrow.
How bizarre. IIRC the Steam version already has the last patch applied (the one that allows mod maps) so I have no idea what could warrant a 96MB download.
I have an installation for Battlefront II as well and have been actively playing it, though I also received that exact same download.
It's just a...DirectX.

I miss SWG. But I've tried several times to get back into it with the various emulators but I just can't commit myself

I haven't tried legends because i've heard a few bad things about it, but at this stage i think i might just go for it anyway. A few months back there was a new NGE project that seemed very hopeful; they'd worked on it for a long time and went public saying it would hopefully be live soon later in the year (this was around July last year i think), and had a test centre server running to fix bugs and such. They planned to go live mid December on a specific date...it was delayed until later December. Then delayed until new years. Then delayed to later in January before going live for a day then going offline because of problems saying it'll be back soon. About 3 months later after a mix of "It's coming, don't worry" and silence, they suddenly decide "Oh, having a live server is too difficult actually so we won't do that now, you'll have to go elsewhere!" about 9 months after going public and telling people that whole time they'd do it - you'd think a Live server being feasible for them or not would be something they'd figure out before telling everyone it was coming. They'd gathered pretty much all the hopeful NGE players to one place, had them testing for months, kept saying it was coming despite delays, and then suddenly changed their minds and threw that chance away with a pathetic reason that should have been realized far sooner. It was some absurd excuse about "We can't handle development AND manage a server at once now, that's too much work!". So they decided they aren't doing a server and will just release their code so others can, which is only going to make NGE even less likely to happen. Without a project that's got a team that knows what they're doing, is a gathering place for NGE players and therefore has a reason not to treat a server like their own playground, any server that does come up won't last long or will probably be mismanaged. I find them doing that worse than the other projects just failing, those failed due to poor development/arguments but at least they tried to get there and didn't purposefully throw away everything after months of getting peoples hopes up. It's such a shame as it seemed to be what was needed for NGE; a knowledgeable team of people that were different from the other projects along with (at least at first, not so sure after all this) what seemed to be caring about the community and doing things properly. A single centralized NGE server so the playerbase isn't split up is what NGE needs, not many different servers which may or may not be abused by those running it, have varying player numbers, mods or no substantial level of commitment to running it or the community. After this i don't see NGE ever being done successfully, it was pretty much the last chance for it. I just want to play NGE again properly, at this point i've given up hope nearly entirely.
If I ever played again I'd only do the space stuff. I love that.

I'm going to be really pissed off if they make the singleplayer short and practically throwaway content, Battlefield 1 felt like that to me and it's annoying, I wanted to sink my teeth into something but it was too fucking short.
Well so isn't being made by DICE, so hopefully that means it's longer then normal
Honestly I'm not expecting it to be that long but I'm hoping it's decent, if it's 20 hours, I will be happy, if it's AT LEAST 15, then I can accept it, however, if I can complete it in the same day I bought it, get fucked. And I don't want any of this bullshit of, once I'm done with it, there's no real reason to come back to it, Prey has me coming back every couple of days to do more stuff, because it's good.
Always loved hearing the banter between soldiers in Battlefront 2; glad someone uploaded some of the best bits.

Even games focused entirely on singleplayer don't seem to last much beyond 10 hours these days, unless they're some sort of RPG like Prey or Dishonored.
It's still weird seeing the Rebels' AI shooting at imperial troops' corpses and say "Don't get up" or "Rebel scum this" in Battlefront 2. They usually do it in front of the enemy and end up getting killed. :v:
I dunno, I hear "now hear this" and "take that, rebel scum" all the time.
Comment from the video maker "All of them were among the least probable to be played during gameplay. It just seems that there aren't many lines for the hangar announcer." Sounds like he looked at the code to see their probability to play. So if you heard it a lot, then there probably wasn't a lot of alternate lines.
never heard the stuff regarding women that would've added a welcome extra level of grit though
It will be playable at EA Play Which really isn't surprising, BF1 was playable before release at one.
