Tiny bit miffed that the heroes aren't stuck in their appropriate eras, but it does give everyone a chance to try them out.
Saw someone mention that is only for E3.
I hope there is some sort of hero free for all mode. [editline]11th June 2017[/editline] Sam Witwer says he's recorded more lines for Darth Maul then he did for Palpatine in the first game So I'm guessing heroes talk more [editline]11th June 2017[/editline] Battledroids will some times yell 'Clone Commando!' when seeing a Clone trooper. Not sure if it is a specific class they see or not. [editline]11th June 2017[/editline] BFU has some good videos on his channel https://www.youtube.com/user/BattlefrontUpdates/videos
It is identical to Sabine's (and the Mandalorian Supercommando) jet pack in Star Wars Rebels And the jump pack seen in the image above that Clone Jump troopers get a normal Mandalorian jet pack, but regular troops get that small one I'm assuming [t]https://c2.staticflickr.com/9/8365/29077315265_24912305a5.jpg[/t]
I've only seen that small one on Cody before so maybe it's some special pack reserved for infantry officers/specialists only?
IIRC someone in Reddit said that there was a Battlefront II survey regarding if people gave a crap about heroes not being in era appropriate maps. No one evidently cared. Maybe it might be changed in the final product, so we'll see. Also, none of yall mentioned that Finn and Phasma (and a Last Jedi map) will be FREE DLC around the holidays.
It would be stupid to have the game focus on immersion, getting things authentic and era-approriate and then ruin all that by just shoving all the heroes in whenever.
So the in game 'loot crates' can be earned in game, none of the options are 'buy' only, buying them is just a faster route to get them. Which seems to be the par with recent games with crates. https://www.gamespot.com/articles/e3-2017-star-wars-battlefront-2s-dlc-is-free-but-t/1100-6450730/
"No one will ever be locked away by some purchase that they made," Fegraeus said. Although Battlefront II won't have a DLC pass, EA will still make more money from the game beyond game sales alone. The game will offer microtransactions for people who want to speed up their progress, Fegraeus confirmed. "When you want to progress and get stuff, you can either play the game and when you play you earn the in-game currency, and with that you can spend towards whatever you want," he told us. "If you want to accelerate that, if you can't play for a week, you can purchase that. The important thing is everything can be earned [through gameplay]. If you're someone who spends time on the game, we love you, do your thing, do what you want to do. If you don't have the time, you can spend money and we love you as well. It's your choice." Fegraeus also assured fans that Battlefront II won't allow players to pay to win. "No, it's not about buying the winning item," he said. "That's not how it works. No one can say, 'I'm going to spend my zillion dollars and then I'm going to dominate.' That's not how it works."
[editline]11th June 2017[/editline] The Press got to play a mission from SP https://www.gamespot.com/articles/e3-2017-we-played-star-wars-battlefront-2s-single-/1100-6450731/
i cant wait to play as emperor palpatine on the battle of naboo [editline]11th June 2017[/editline] ~~subtly~~
got to play it last week and it has imo a lot more polished and responsive gameplay than bf1, I haven't been a fan of the prequels since I was a kid, but now my interest is coming back
For some reason the droids' "victory or be dismantled!" line cracked me up a bit.
Cody had a Jetpack? [t]https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/215926259199246346/323262292634632192/It_will_be_done_my_lord.png[/t]
I thought he always had a jetpack since he's based on Commando Cody/The Rocket Man. I remember him using it in the old Genndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars cartoon. @ 3m13s and 5m42s
Ah, I had no idea. I hope Arc troopers are the special unit for the Kamino map. [editline]11th June 2017[/editline] two new images [editline]11th June 2017[/editline] Q&A with Design Director Dennis Brännvall He confirmed Clone phases will be locked to certain maps, the example he gave was Kamino, it will only have Phase I Clones. He also said they still don't have what will be in launch nailed down.
He confirmed that you'll have more options when it comes to Skirmish. Maybe that means you can choose battle point requirements among other things? I'd love the ability to make it all free and just go crazy with all the heroes, vehicles etc. He also said that you can use Skirmish if you want to try out a new weapon you've unlocked. So I guess that confirms that online progression carries over?

"Team up with a friend in two-player offline split-screen play.* Earn rewards, customize troopers and heroes, then take your skills and upgrades to the online battleground." [editline]11th June 2017[/editline] He confirmed more Rogue One content outside of just the Death Troopers

I'm a sucker for bot matches where you can just relax and do whatever you want. Here's all the new info gathered from the stream in case someone doesn't want to watch it all: https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBattlefront/comments/6gn5s9/battlefront_updates_and_dennis_stream_info/
Battle Droid using an E-11 [t]http://i.imgur.com/PFltctt.png[/t] Dennis also said that Watch the Wrist rockets might be in as audio, but he isn't sure and will have to check. But it is something he'd like :v:
I liked playing as the clones in Battlefront 2 simply because I thought the DC-15 was cool looking. It's gonna be neat if Im able to use them as the Rebels and the Resistance now.
This thread here is compiling the info from the stream https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBattlefront/comments/6gn5s9/battlefront_updates_and_dennis_stream_info/ [editline]11th June 2017[/editline] So Galactic Assault game mode is unique for each planet. It is always Attack/Defend like seen here on Naboo, but what you are attacking/defending is different. So on Hoth it will be AT-ATs for example.
One thing that bothers me is that there still doesn't seem to be any optional spawn points. If they're keeping the old Walker Assault then this game will have the same problem where you'll lose one uplink if the game suddenly decides that your team has to respawn on the opposite side of the map. They really have to try and phase out all of these RNG elements that can sometimes be the deciding factor between a win or loss.
Dennis said you will be able to have more then 2 heroes at once on the field, that must mean there will be more then 2 heroes per faction. Mixed Era heroes are also not a final decision. For those wondering, Rey's mind trick causes your controls to reverse.
Sam Witwer seems like such a cool dude
So if we got TCW voices for clones and battle droids please tell me we get the same voices for these two fine gentlemen [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/wsm9WeA.jpg[/thumb]
Sam Witwer seems like such a cool dude
He just loves Star Wars. Working with LucasFilm was like a dream come true for him. Ever since the trailer at Celebration hes been hinting, without directly saying he was playing Maul. Also he said started recording for this almost directly after he finished Rebels, which would have been 2015-16
According to StarWarsHQ (I forgot their source, just check out the video for it) Droidekas probably won't be at launch, but they hope to include them in DLC. Also wookies, phase 1 & 2 clones, etc. will be map dependent. I am actually really looking forward to this one. Probably still won't buy it at launch just because the first one also seemed really good to begin with, but I think DICE has done everything possible not to disappoint twice and I'm excited.
Ugh, no keep StarWarsHQ shit away from here, they're just click bait garbage. Their source is probably the BattlefrontUpdate interview I linked yesterday.
I wonder if we're going to see more Battlefront 2 at Sony's, since Sony/PS4 is slapped on all the trailers. The Press got to see a level from the Single player Saturday, maybe we'll get to see it tonight. Damn DICE certainly knows how to make beautiful games. [editline]12th June 2017[/editline] So that creature that runs past the camera in the shot of the the Deathtroopers, is this http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Runyip/Legends
So I finally decided to pick up Battlefront Ultimate edition on PS4 seeing as it was only £9 and for that price I cant complain!
My understanding is that Battlefront PS4 is still pretty populated and with all the content from the DLC you can't really go wrong at that price point. [editline]12th June 2017[/editline] Just checked. Yeah, there's currently 18k playing right now. [editline]12th June 2017[/editline] As opposed to 3k on PC.
By the way, the Battlefront Ultimate Edition, which includes the season pass, is on sale on Origin for $10 right now.
The PC experience has definitely been...less than optimal. The DLC playlists are usually empty and because the game is dirt cheap and the anti-cheat sucks, there's often hackers ruining the few servers that are actually up. It's kinda holding me back from buying the second game on PC but I reeeeally don't feel like paying for PSN. My hope is that BF2 will be a lot more popular than BF1 so maybe it won't suffer from the same problems. I mean it can't get worse can it?
Since all the DLC maps are free in BF2, you'll probably see more people playing DLC maps in that game.
That's what I'm thinking. This time around, people have a lot more reasons to stick around. I'm really curious to see the entire scope of the game. How many heroes, planets, maps etc. And if they announce Galactic Conquest down the line, oh man.
