The small look at the plot described by the press who got a chance to try it gives me the impression we're going to defect. You learn about the existence of a mysterious post-death Emperor plan called "Operation Cinder" in a very early mission and when you ask for more information, you're basically told "that's classified" How much do you want to bet it's something horrible and apocalyptic and you're like 'oh no i'm a rebel now'
We already know what "Operation Cinder" is. It's a plan the Emperor came up with so that if he died suddenly then the Empire was to [sp] scour his home planet Naboo via ruining it's atmosphere so the climate would destroy everything, and for them to also attack a large amount (dozens) of other planets. Basically his contingency plan was to ruin everything and wipe out both the Empire and Rebellion because he thought if the Empire couldn't protect him, then it was useless and shouldn't exist anymore.[/sp] Considering the Character is part of the Empire but doesn't seem to be on the 'evil' side of things from what was shown in the trailers so far, it definitely gives the impression she's going to realize the Empire is completely evil and defect if she finds out about things like that. I really hope it doesn't happen, but i'm expecting it will unfortunately. I don't think EA have the balls to create a story where you play as the bad guys without there being some sort of cliche "Are we the baddies?" realization and they end up changing sides. It seems some games/developers have a sort of aversion to letting players be the bad guys and sticking with it. They also said in one of the trailers it was a story about [sp] redemption[/sp] didn't they?
She is special forces, she was raised on a planet which was completely loyal to the emperor. I'm pretty sure she knows how 'evil' the empire is. I doubt you get into the imperial special forces without doing some questionable shit already. Also Operation Cinder was more then just Naboo. That was just the only one they showed in the comics. According to Wookieepedia, there were also attacks on Burnin Konn, Candovant, Abednedo, and Commenor.

It's pretty dogshit that we see the Empire from the Rebel's side and not from the Empire's, hopefully the campaign will show us a view from their side so we can see how people are, rather than their instant portrayal of "Evil Bad Guys".

The general consensus is that the Empire is only portrayed as evil because the rebellion won in the end, and naturally, history is written by the victor.

[editline]15th June 2017[/editline] So, I just leaned that Asajj Ventress was in the OG X-Box version of Battlefront II via a XBox Live update. Why did they never push that to PC? I know there are mods now that add her.

This video made me want to look of screencaps and other maps of Theed, and yeah, it was pretty damn accurate.
Damn. Imagine if SWG was remade with this level of accuracy. Battlefront runs really well for how good it looks. I'm sure it's possible. I'd kill to have an immersive, non-bloated, true-to-canon styled MMO again with clothes and gear all matching the movies instead of the stupid over the top stuff we get in SWTOR.
MMOs are just not as popular as they used to be, that is why so many are going to freemium route. [editline]15th June 2017[/editline] I don't think SWG-like game could survive in today's climate.
Screw an MMO, I want a single player RPG like KOTOR with the graphics of the new BFs.

So yeah. No. The Empire is openly evil. They commit genocide on a massive scale, as well as engage in slavery and outright act on a humanity first basis. It's pretty cut and fucking dry in Star Wars.
Don't be ridiculous. The Empire created millions of new jobs, and the rebels just fucked it all up.

All I ask is for whoever does the facial animations for Battlefront 2 does them for that Also toss in a Multiplayer mode similar to DA:I. That would be pretty great in the Star Wars theme

Remember, the narration for the first BF2 trailer has Iden talking about '30 years ago' So she is part of the First Order. She stayed loyal for the 30 years between ROTJ and TFA. "I've waited thirty years for this. I still remember my last orders. The day the real war began."
Is everyone forgetting that the Empire exterminated the Geonosians just so they couldn't build battle droids in the future, and destroyed Alderaan just to upset somebody they'd kidnapped and 'send a message'?
Is everyone forgetting that the Empire exterminated the Geonosians just so they couldn't build battle droids in the future
The Geonosians were used as hard labour to help build the Death Star and then killed to keep the secret.
I never really liked the Geonosians but i do like their sonic blasters, at least the sound of it.
So that little bit of campaign footage seen in the E3 trailer, that is the Fondor ship yards. Not Scarif They just have a similar looking station Edit: DICE is claiming the lootcrate system will not effect'progression/balance, and it won't be "pay to win". No major visual customization for classes at launch. Still avoiding questions about Destroyer Droids No diorama mode. Source:
DICE is claiming the lootcrate system will not effect'progression/balance, and it won't be "pay to win". No major visual customization for classes at launch.
"In the Star Wars universe there's only so much customisation..." What the fuck are you on about guy? Star Wars is overflowing with tons of variations of units, specialist armour etc. So he says there'll be no vehicle skins and no soldier customisation (to start with), yet they want loot crates that don't effect progression or balance? That basically leaves the only thing actually in them at ability cards and probably xp boosters. Even if it'll be fairly minimal since you don't have to buy crates, that sounds a lot like progression and balance affecting to me. It's a pretty baffling contrast of what they claim to want versus what they could do to achieve that but aren't, especially considering that the previous game already had soldier customisation. A bit disappointing, I was under the impression from other interviews that they wanted more customisation this time.
The previous game had very little customization as well The Rebels/imperial officers you could change their faces, and storm troopers only had a couple armours [editline]18th June 2017[/editline] By more customization they meant powers and weapons [editline]18th June 2017[/editline] As of the E3 build, both factions weapons are equal in stats, so the Droid E-5 is identical to the clone DC-15s The droid heavy class's blaster comes from the CG Clone Wars series. The clone sniper rifle is obscure as well, not showing up in a lot of sources
Will we be getting Rogue One content by any chance?
