Will we be getting Rogue One content by any chance?
Death troopers will be a special class in the OT era content, and Cassian's special forces blaster is usable
That is all we know of so far.

There was a bug in the E3 build where sometimes Rey would spawn with Obi-Wan's light saber, or at least the icon for it on her spawn screen
So Obi-Wan maybe confirmed outside of his star fighter?
I can't see why they wouldn't have him. PT Era without Obi-Wan would be just blasphemous
What they've shown of Battlefront 2 so far sounds both great and like a massive disappointment at the same time. It's exactly what i expected it to be; a sequel that just brings the game closer to the level it should have been originally, but it's still below the bar set by the original two games. That isn't good, even if the game itself is a huge improvement over the previous game.
It seems to do nothing to push the series forward and build upon what came before over a decade ago, it's like it's still just trying to reach what Battlefront 2 did but still falls short. It's still heavily infantry focused with vehicles being more of a secondary gameplay element, along with lacking any real semblance of depth. The original two games weren't exactly the most depth-filled games out there, but they had things like non-regen health, ammo counts and reloading and class synergy was required with classes dedicated to specific roles that were needed (Engineer, Shock Trooper), with vehicles not feeling like they were just stuck on. The new game has regen health, unlimited ammo, regenerating abilities/equipment, core classes that at a basic level seem no more or less needed than others (except perhaps officer), no ability to get out of vehicles, no reloading, extremely cheap vehicle spawns (albeit that might be just for that demo) and vehicles that don't feel like they're a critical part of the game because of an extremely heavy infantry focus. That's ontop of things like there's been no indication of Galactic Conquest, boarding in space battles, transport or multi-crew vehicle, or even iconic classes like the Droideka, as well as things like a lower player count. It isn't just "we're building upon these features primarily and improving the game in this direction", it's outright lacking important features and depth compared to the originals based on what's been shown so far.
I'll explain what i mean by the vehicles feeling secondary. In the original Battlefront 1 and 2, vehicles did not seem like they were just a bonus part of the game with the infantry gameplay being how it's "supposed" to be, they both felt like they were just as fleshed out as each other and were just as critical, at least on the maps that had them. In the new game, when it seems you can't even get in or out of vehicles (that's an assumption, based on the lack of any multi-crew that i've seen, and how the AT-RT just explodes when the pilot dies), there's no repairing, there's no dedicated vehicle-focused classes like engineer and anti-tank, any most classes will probably be able to do something against vehicles via abilities or equipment, that makes it feel like it's just an additional thing stuck ontop without much real care about how it'll integrate with the rest of the game in a significant way.
How is that good enough? When the game still falls flat compared to the original games in terms of content and being an actual Battlefront game, that isn't a good thing in the slightest. Don't get the wrong idea, it looks a lot of fun and i'll give it a try, it's definitely better than Battlefront 2015, but i don't think that it's all perfectly fine now.
Of All people I expect for a Jedi Starfighter, why would you have Obi-Wan be in it?

Obi-wans Jedi Starfighter is fairly iconic, he's the only one we see piloting that vehicle in the movies. If it was a ETA-2 interceptor than it wouldn't make much sense, but with the Jedi Starfighter he fits the most.
This is his Jedi Starfighter:

Ignore the name of the game, and you'll have your answer.
It isn't trying to be the originals, it is inspired by them, but isn't trying to copy them.
They probably chose the name 'Battlefront' for brand recognition.

The concept art for Kamino showed Jango's Slave One Chasing a red Jedi Starfighter. Judging by the location and how iconic that is, that was probably Obi-Wan.

I always find that to be a pretty absurd defense of it. It's using the brand, it's the same style of gameplay and general idea, there's nothing wrong with comparing it to the originals. That's like saying you shouldn't compare remakes or reboots of movies to the originals because they're only supposed to be inspired by it.
The game definitely isn't for everyone and I can see how it alienates some fans of the old games. I personally loved the old games to death but I'm also having fun with the 2015 reboot. I never played the old games online though so I guess I missed out on some of that "class synergy". Basically when I think of the old Battlefront games, I probably have something completely different in mind and thus I'm more forgiving than some people.
I don't think that lack of content seems like a problem this time around though. I'm not complaining about the fact that Battlefield 1 has half the amount of maps that Battlefield 1942 had and I won't complain about Battlefront 2 as long as it has enough content to justify its price tag. BF2015 sure as hell didn't.
We'll they're claiming BF2 will have 3 times the content as BF1 did at launch.
There are at least 10 planets.
I mean it wouldn't be difficult to beat BF1 in terms of content since there was next to fuck all.

You know, I have the sneaky suspicion that "3 times the content" is technically referring to the three eras vs BF1s origanal trilogy era only and doesn't necessarily mean anything other than it sounds impressive.

That would still be 3 times the content.
it would be such a shame if they didn't have much customization. a total missed opportunity tbh, especially with clone troopers

pretty much a guarantee with free DLCs
just hope they don't go overboard with it and give us weird shit like shoretroopers on Hoth
Considering Clone Phases are limited to certain maps, they'll probably do the same with shore troopers.
[editline]18th June 2017[/editline]
I can't think of any customization that makes sense for any faction except for the rebels and resistance.
Clone colours are tied to the battalion they serve in, so having those mixed up makes no sense.
Stormtrooper, Clone and First Order armour designs are all specialized for their role and enviroment, so they'll be tied to class/planet.
Rebels and resistance could be fairly customizable. All the Rebel Commandos that went with on the assault on Scarif looked pretty unique and individualized. Clones could also have Mandalorian stuff tacked onto their armour if they wanted to make the whole "Clones adopted the Mandalorian culture of Jango and their instructors" thing canon(idk if it already was made canon in Clone Wars or not).

Jango is allegedly not Mandalorian according to the government in Clone Wars.
Jango is allegedly not Mandalorian according to the government in Clone Wars.
I think they just mean that they've disowned him for being bad publicity for a peaceful planet with a bad history of constant warfare. Fairly certain he's still of Mandalorian descent.
Not according to any canon sources. Nothing from anything since the wipe has said he is of Mandalorian decent.
As of right now he is/was a 'pretender'.
George Lucas said Fetts were not Mandalorian, so they wrote that into Clone Wars.
[editline]18th June 2017[/editline]
The story group (specifically Pablo) has also said since the EU wipe that the Fetts are still not Mandalorian.

AFAIK Kamino doesn't use Mando instructors in the new Canon either. Just hired bounty hunters and Mercenaries to train
That kinda sucks since the Fetts were like the only "Mandalorians" most people were aware off.
It also makes the Fetts way less cool.

They were never cool. They just looked like they were.
Just finished Star Wars: Jedi Outcast. Probably the greatest Star Wars game I have ever played.
They were never cool. They just looked like they were.
M8 if you talk shit about the Fetts I'll have to get my Dad on here and he'll have a right good word with you. (He thinks they're Ice)

That sucks because I really liked that plot element. It made the Clones more human. Especially like the Commandos that basically got adopted by their Mandolorian trainer.
They were never cool. They just looked like they were.
Someone didn't play Star Wars: Bounty Hunter.
So the Republic Commandos are canon bc they're in Clone Wars, but does this mean the books are non-canon? Because 90% of the culture of clones in that book is mando-based because of their instructors like Kal Skirata and such. I'm actually kind of pissed they would change it up so much, I mean Boba wears a bunch of Mandalorian imagery and it was already so integral.

That's seriously bullshit
Idk if anyone here played the PSP Battlefront sequels. But I feel armor customization was handled pretty well there. Lots of variety and color. I don't mind clones having customizable colors.
Battlefront II is back up to $80 on amazon.ca, though it is $16 off if you have Prime.

Yes. Everything from before is non-canon unless it was in a movie or The Clone Wars. That means we know absolutely nothing about Delta Squad beyond what they look like. It's better to think of it as the Delta Squad that appeared in Clone Wars aren't really Delta squad, they're entirely new characters that have the same look.
