You're missing the point. Unless you find having less content acceptable?
Your point seems to change with every post, so I'll address the two that I've seen so far.
Yes, the game had less overall content at launch than the originals. That did make it somewhat boring, and the Season Pass content, while adding new locations, did little to change that because it didn't introduce much new and it fragmented the community. Do I like the fact that the new game had less content overall? No. But you also have to accept this fact: the original games were a product of their time. Battlefront II only came out one year after the original game did, and half of that game was actually reused from the first. So in truth, while you can play the content card all you like, the amount of new content in Battlefront II turns out to be less than you give it credit for if you don't count the carry-overs from the first game. I might also point out that if you're going to bring up the Season pass argument, remember that the XBox DLC for SWBF2 was paid DLC, and that DLC consisted almost entirely of non-original content, since it was four maps from the first game. The only reason battlefront II is still alive and kicking today is thanks to the mod community and their wonderful work.
As for the second point I could see, this is the one I disagree with. You claim is that the game sucks because, in essence, it does not play like the original. It's a reboot, of course it doesn't play like the originals. To me, yes, it felt more like a download-only title (and I can see people having less to gripe about had that been the case), and I can agree to some extent that in attempting to move away from their Battlefield franchise, the game moved the wrong way away from it, but that seems to have been fixed in the new game. It clearly plays differently because they've done away with tokens and brought back classes, which are customizeable.
Should DICE have invoked the Battlefront name? I'll wait to answer that until I've played the new game later this year for myself because I only have one sample so far to base an answer off of.
Yes, it is. How can you say it isn't part of the Battlefront series? It uses the brand and the name. The whole reason for doing that is to get you to think of the previous games.
It's a marketing ploy that many a company uses. Tuskin's point above mine is one example.
Honestly Battlefront was kind of boned as soon as EA got Star Wars simply because of DICE and Battlefield. The original Battlefronts were basically "Battlefield: Star Wars". Obviously EA was going to give DICE the Battlefront property, but the problem is if DICE DID make a Battlefront 3 as people expected, it would basically end up playing exactly the same as Battlefield, moreso than the finished product did. DICE wanted to (or were forced to by EA) make something different to distinguish itself from Battlefield and avoid constant comparison. Now though that the first game came out and they've seen that people want that kind of game, they're starting to shift in that direction.
I dont really agree with the whole "ground to space combat is the pinnacle of Battlefront" argument though. I dont think it would play very well, especially with only 20 people per team.

I should have refreshed the page before posting my post
Some of these are pretty neat

I have the sound muted, so I have no idea if there is narration or anything.
I wonder if it would be possible for them to do some sort of MP battle based around the Super Star Destroyer, it would be pretty cool to fly around it.
Given how the surface is almost like the trenches on the Death Star, they'd have some pretty cool shit they could do with that, like it's Hyperdrive is knocked out and if it comes back online it just enters Hyperspace and anything that's around the main part of it just gets smashed to bits as it goes from 0 - 'Fucking Fast'.

Cripple the ship before it enters hyperspace.
Board and sabotage critical systems.
Sounds like a cool game mode to me.

And the mode closes out with the SSD going down like it does in ROTJ.
Huh, Kim Swift is working on the BF2 Single Player. Neat. I didn't know she was working at Visceral.

What like, crashing into the surface of a planet or for some reason crashing into another Death Star? Because depending on the planet and if anyone lives there, I can't imagine a ship that fucking big crashing into it would really be that good.

Star Wars doesn't really seem to care about that bit of science. The SSD that crashed onto Jakku did almost nothing to the planet.

We'll it's a desert right? Just jump into a sandbox and you'll see nothing happens
We'll it's a desert right? Just jump into a sandbox and you'll see nothing happens
It wasn't 'just' a desert as it housed an Imperial base. In fact, the whole planet was supposed to be destroyed so I'd assume there was some non-Death Star way they were going to do that.
It's also not quite the same thing. You can bet that dropping something that weighs an imesurable amount onto a desert is going to leave an impact in real life. I'd expect the crashing of an SSD into the surface would most likely result in seismic activity at the very least.
I was joking
I'd expect the crashing of an SSD into the surface would most likely result in seismic activity at the very least.
And maybe it did? We haven't really seen much of Jakku lorewise to draw any conclusions.
Some of the story of Visceral's Star Wars game has allegedly been leaked, spoilers obviously.

tbh, theres a difference between a Super Star Destroyer slowly crashing into the ground because its repusorlift drives have failed or something (the one on jakku cant have landed with much force or else it wouldnt be in the shape its in) and a few mile wide meteor hitting a planet at a few thousand miles per hour
[editline]22nd June 2017[/editline]
actually, I didn't know this, but you can watch it crash

Yeah, it probably crashed slowly.

Yeah the sky vistas in BF1 were pretty cool, depending on who was winning the match, the battle in the sky would change.
Wouldn't something like that touching down at all still cause MASSIVE shockwaves?

Would've made some great "LEVOLUTION" if when it crashed it kicked up a massive dust storm.
They could probably pull it off now. When the dreadnought gets destroyed in BF1 it can affect visibility for a bit, especially if it was close to land.
It'll never happen, but wouldnt it be rad if Battlefront had a mode that was basically Titan Assault from BF2142? On the ground you have to capture tubolaser batteries to bring down the enemies capital ship then once the shields are down you could board it as you would during space battles in the original Battlefront. All the while you can stay on the capital ship and and shoot down at the battle and move it around the map, like the titan or the zeppelin in BF1

The PSP Battlefronts had almost exactly this.
Both teams have a capital ship in orbit, and can spawn on the ship or the planet.
Spawning on the planet you can fight for command points linked to turbo-lasers which you can control to lower the enemy teams capital ship shields.
You can also find a ship and fly up into the orbital battle.
Spawning in orbit, you can use the capital ship cannons to level entire areas. If I recall, fully charging and shooting at a command post resets it to neutral.
You can also head to the hanger and hop in a fighter to join the space battle or go to the planet.
In space you can focus fire on the enemy ship to help bring down the shields and forgo the turbo-laser if you wish. From there you can cripple it from the outside or board and sabotage ala Battlefront 2.
Also, if you are in a critical ship that's about to detonate, you can run to the escape pods to return to the ground battle.
After destroying the ship, I think the game becomes a sort of one-sided conquest.
It's been a while so im not sure.
Stephen Stanton added Battlefront II to his twitter bio.
Now he did do voices for the original BF2 (Darth Maul, and OT era Obi-Wan), but that seems like an odd thing to put there now

If he indeed means the new BF2, what could this mean? He voiced OT Era Kenobi again in Rebels, so he could be playing him in BF2.
He also voiced Tarkin in Clone Wars and Rebels, he is another possibility.
Or he could just be voicing a new character.

Old Obi-Wan is possible, but considering he also does bit characters outside of Tarkin and Obi-Wan then it very well might be stormtroopers and the likes.
He could voice the Imperial officer class.
I hope it's for OT Obi Wan just because he does such a damn good job as him.
Can't replace Sam Witwer voicing Darth Maul though.
Well Sam already confirmed that is him in BF2, so you don't need to worry about that :v:
I honestly think Sam Witwer is a terrible Maul. But that might just be because I feel like they completely ruined his character in Clone Wars and he acted so unlike how he seemed in the movies - which was arguably more controlled, less prone to violent tantrums, and a less sultry screamy voice akin to Witwer.
Witwer did do a great job as older Maul in Rebels, though. Just not my cup of tea.
