Does the preorder DLC come in the spass?
Anyone know why the no bullets achievement won't trigger for me?
I've taken over 3 bases using no bullets whatsoever, only using the tethers to kill people and destroy things, but nothing so far.

I've had the same problem, only tried twice but still rather annoying.
In one of the early missions where [sp]you need to find the Bavarium scanner[/sp] I captured the base while doing the mission, so the helicopters just got shot down as they spawned :v:

Some missions can be easier if you capture all the areas before doing them.
I really like the spherical fuel tanks. It's so much fun to rip them out with the winch and roll them across the base.

Make sure you're liberating bases and not outposts because these don't count.

Oh that's probably it. I've only tried it with the little ones or oil rigs.

I think I've read that you can't use the tethers to kill people for that achievement.
My favourite thing to do is wing suit by something like a fuel tank, catch with my grapple, latch it to the ground, I pull the fuel tank out of the wall all whil never having stopped moving.

Just did it on a large base and got the achievement. You can kill people with tethers just fine, and I even died in the middle and still got it. So basically the achievement itself spells it out, has to be a large military base, and you can't fire your gun or use grenades or c4.
So I bought JC3 and it performs like shit. I'm talking about having to set most settings to low with SSAO on (at 720p!) to get 60 fps, and even then it drops and stutters. I have an i5 3470 and an XFX 280x 3GB OC Edition. Do I just have a really bad system? Like, should I refund while I still can or should I wait it out and hope it's just some performance issues that'll get patched?

Disable vsync, it genuinely helps

That's the sad thing, I did. 720p, everything off or low aside from SSAO, FXAA and I think medium textures and I still get 40 fps while parachuting. I blocked JC3 in firewall too because apparantly that decreases stutter too.
Like damn, I thought i'd get 60fps on those settings at 1080p. Shows how much I really know I guess.

Yeah, they have different icons on the map, and are called "Oppressed outpost" or "Oppressed base" when you click on them :v:

Plus the bases are usually the size of a town, you can usually tell which is which by the size alone.

Got one, thanks. It's a pretty small one for a base, I'd recommend doing it because it's only fuel tanks and transformers/electrical stuff with one antenna as opposed to any tough special stuff. I think it's called Camena Est or something like that, it's near a lake in the biggest island.

This game runs at like 70fps on one of my computers but crashes a lot and at 20-40fps on another any rarely crashes, because I play on two computers I am constantly backing up my save.
Had a bad crash yesterday which resulting in my computer rebooting, save got corrupted. Thank fuck I back it up, word of warning for you all.

Nothing amazing but I had a hell of a lot of fun doing this. I'm hoping for a few more moments like these and I'd love to hear/see any sort of stunts people have pulled off. Honestly I feel sorry for those who are experiencing perf issues with the game because I'm really enjoying it and it's great fun when you aren't having any issues.

I know this franchise is not supposed to make too much sense but WTF? End of act 1: [sp]A bavarium filled missile which could act like a nuke (if I remember correctly) gets redirected onto the base where Rico told Dinah to stay, it crashes and nothing happens except that the tower thing in the base is destroyed while Dinah is somewhere safe.[/sp]
The game is all about liberating the cities and outposts but there should be way more missions anyway. Especially since some of them are short as fuck.
So how come you can honk car horns to have rebels get in, but there's not a similar thing for boats and planes/helis? What's the point of having an armored troop helicopter with no way to load it up?

I don't know if that will help, but try changing the power management mode to "prefer maximum performance" in JC3 in the nvidia control panel? Maybe something's bugged and it's not trying as hard as it should

So it's actual performance issues that i'd have too? I guess i'll not refund it then and hope for some patches. We have about the same performance then (potato settings and low resolution and still stuttering 40 fps), even though my setup is still quite a bit weaker than yours (280x OC and i5 3470)
PSA for people that can't get past the jet escort mission because homing missiles don't work - disable the Precision Aim mod and restart the game, they'll work as they should then
Increase Thrust and Altitude buttons for aircraft is the same as retract tethers, I wonder if they thought about that.

The 2nd game is really fun but this game improves on every single gameplay aspect so it would be like going from MGS2 to MGS1 or Ratchet and Clank 3-2 so the previous iterations would be really hard to get into
