I have high hopes for this game.
I usually don't care much about the story but it looks like this time it will be better than the second game. Rico's new voice grew up on me and the fact that now he has an actual personality even makes it better. Mario is a love-able character too.
Only thing that bothers me a bit is the map size, for some reason it feels smaller than JC2. Also i hope there's a giant city with skyscrapers like Panau city.
Overall landmass size is actually slightly smaller than JC2, I did the estimation using some distance markers I saw in game footage and overlayed the two maps after bringing them to scale with each other. But it should still be way more than enough, and this time it's at least pretty dense with things to discover and do.
There were huge swaths of emptiness in Just Cause 2, but even so it was still near impossible to see everything. I have been messing around in it again lately and I keep stumbling upon villages and military bases I know I had never been to before. So I'm curious if that same thing will happen in 3, or if, with the increased amount of missions/wingsuit/better vehicle spawn drop, it'll be easier to discover all the settlements.

I'd say the opposite, the higher amount of activities will probably keep you from seeing everything or at least for a while. I can easily see myself spending a lot of time messing around in the first region before even bothering to explore the majority of the world.
For reference, the first region is the southeast island here

I love Just Cause because it's like the Deus Ex of action games. You're free to choose whatever approach you want, but every approach involves explosions.
I thought Robin Atkin Downes fit Rico.
Yeah, I really liked JC1's Rico.
Each of the Ricos has their own charm, I guess. I think the game's canon is Rico turning from Hispanic to Italian.

Wow. That is just... something else.

How much do you guys want to bet that Di Ravello got a hidden base inside the volcano to the northwest just like Panay had his inside a mountain?
PS4 or PC?
I've got a 4690k at 4.5GHZ and a 680 GTX and 16 GB or RAM.
I'm tempted to get it on PC and refund it and buy it on PS4 if I have to
Your PC seems pretty good to me, but i'd understand wanting to have at least one game on the PS4 to not feel like you wasted your money on it.
I saw an ad for it on a bus here in London. Now I'm hype. Then I saw system requirements. Now I'm not hype because I won't be able to run it. JC2 runs like absolute ass for me, that's I know for sure.
What kind of PC potato do you have, if Just Cause 2 runs flawlessly on potatoes?

Why would you get a game on PS4 if you can run it on PC?
I think he meant if he finds out it DOESNT run well he'd refund it
Just Cause 2 doesn't really run all that well though, at least not anymore. For some people it seems to run worse than at release, apparently.

Well it does CTD a lot for me now

This might be because Just Cause 2 uses your intel graphics card as default on new PCs.
Theres a weird thing with decals in jc2 on newer systems. If you disable them it runs great.

Well I hope so. Mad Max ran pretty well for me this year but still had a bad occasional stutter. I don't want that with JC3.
I actually have 7 ps4 games but yeah it does need more.
optimistic side of me says, mad max ran well for me so i should run this well, pessimistic says mad max had no foliage at all but jc3 has loads and fucks framerates a lot so im on the fence. I'm above the recommended though, im not sure what settings that'll let me run it on.

I'm confused by how Avalanche decides on system requirements, there are vids showing the minimum rated specs for Mad Max running the game on high at 60 fps, 1080p.
I'm not too worried about the foliage, JC2 had similar levels of foliage and ran butter smooth. I'm worried about populated areas, large bases, and lots of physics because that's where JC2 started to chug on my old pc.
Like I'm just above minimum. If I can have a better experience on ps4 I want that.
I thought this was out already. Sadly my pc can't run this one but have to admit I paid twice for Just Cause 2, on PS3 and then on PC and it was worth it, one of the goofiest games I have ever tried.
if you preordered from Green Man Gaming, you should have your key in your email now.
think jc3 will have a screenshot function like mad max? same devs but at the same time those screenshot functions seem to only be on WB published games

So far I only know about Shadow of Mordor and Mad Max, what other game has that?
So far I only know about Shadow of Mordor and Mad Max, what other game has that?
no other game as far as I know, I just thought it might since avalanche also made mad max. Mordor and Max were both published by WB games though, so I have a feeling the stuff they use for the screenshot mode has something to do with them

The last Infamous had it and The Last of Us Remastered had it.
mad max was made by stockholm team while new york team is making just cause 3, i'm going to assume it's a wb games thing
Yeah it's a WB feature. It's in Shadows, Mad Max and Arkham Knight.
Is it different than just Steam screenshots?
Is it different than just Steam screenshots?
yeah gives you a free camera in game that can travel in a wide arc around your character with tons of filters and camera options.
Mad Max had some of the best, and most intense screenshots of any game thanks to that.
Oh dang, that sounds awesome.

This forum usually finds an unofficial way to unlock the camera in most big games, if you're interested in that type of thing.
