I've played about 45 minutes of it so far. It seems like the game does not like to run smoothly for me at 1440p or 1080p. Kind of annoying personally. I guess I'll have to wait for optimization on both Avalanche's and AMD's end.
You didn't get the PS4 version because you doubted your PC was good enough?
Oh you know what I meant, wise ass. Also if this game is acting screwy on the PC version too then that means we'll probably be getting more patches for all versions soon
Fuck the games coming out? How likely will preorder DLC be sold as regular later? [editline]30th November 2015[/editline] I mean it's just cars and it's not my style but still
Any body else having trouble with the Rebel Drop mission? It tells me to press F to drop the beacon, but nothing happens. edit: its bound to your grenade key, and I set mine to G. I guess the graphic still shows the default, which is F
Game runs pretty smooth for me, but it freezes and stutters to hell when I get those popups telling you unlocks and challenges. Sometimes for 20 seconds before it unfreezes so I can continue, and it does that for every popup even if there's like 6 in a row. Hopefully theirs a fix for this I cant even unlock anything without these hangups.
Welp, game is unplayable at lowest settings for me and crashes after I fire my RPG. :suicide:
I'm not having any performance issues at all. GTX 970 and FX 8350. 1920x1080 and highest settings on everything besides AA. No stutters, no freezes, long initial loading times, but fairly smooth after that. Usually hovering around 60 FPS. Only issues I've had so far is the PC controls like to sometimes take over again in menus at random times (though that may be a problem just with me since I'm using a DS4 for my gamepad), and SMAA T2X either results in horrid foliage with motion blur off, or horrible ghosting with motion blur on. Setting it to just regular SMAA is the way to go for now. I really do wish the game had borderless windowed mode though. The screen tearing is horrible, and turning on Vsync just destroys FPS. Don't really see all the performance complaints. However, unlocking upgrades is kind of shitty, so I'll definitely jump on a mod for it as soon as it's available.
I'm not sure why, but I keep accidentally hitting F to use the grapple. Was that the default control in JC2? Been too long since I played it.
Game's broken for me. Same geometry glitches, broken sounds, and for some reason I can't use the fine aim. Guess we're waiting for it to be patched.
Keep in mind Nvidia guys, that the game-ready driver isn't out yet which very may likely get rid of some of the stutters and lag you're experiencing. It's coming tomorrow. GTX 970, game runs perfectly here, way better than Fallout 4 if I had to compare it to anything
Game's broken for me. Launched the game for the first time and it ran awfully on my GTX 970, i5 3570K. FPS-wise it seemed fine, sitting at around 70 - 80fps but getting tremendous stuttering when I move anywhere. Going to mess around with it though.
Game isn't downloading but it's writing to disk. Guess I'll just have to wait this out
Damn. This games awesome. I'm sorry you guys are having issues. 680 and a i5 4670, medium- high, very little problems. Great fun
Just played 3 hours of it without any hitches at all really. It froze up once on me for like 5 seconds throughout the whole 3 hours. By the way, I'm not sure how totalbiscuit didn't see the challenge to get you 4 tethers. I found it within the first 2 hours and I'm sure anyone would that doesn't instantly run off to another island would too. The challenges so far that earn you gears don't seem that bad either. Maybe they'll grow boring quickly though, but I don't know, the stuff like the wingsuit challenges are great fun because the wingsuit is so much fun in itself.
After messing around with stuff I was able to reduce the stuttering by a lot but sadly it's still occurring enough for it to be unplayable. Hopefully the drivers fix the rest of the issue, if not hopefully a quick patch will.
Christ the wingsuit challenges are hard on a keyboard, I might just need to keep a controller ready
Christ the wingsuit challenges are hard on a keyboard, I might just need to keep a controller ready
Yeah, I just played for a few hours w/ k+m, time to try out a controller for a bit. Driving/wingsuit is kinda annoying on the keyboard.
Well shit, I got the day one edition and the voucher for the extra vehicles isn't working. What the hell do I do now?

Really weird control choices. Caps Lock for explosives??? Also really bad performance with a GTX 770, 16gb, and i7-equivalent Xeon. Hopefully the game ready driver will fix. [editline]30th November 2015[/editline] Yeah the stuttering got so bad it was making me nauseous and I had to quit for the night. <30fps.
I'm getting some stuttering(often occurs at very inopportune times), but other than that I've had fun playing it although I do wish they didn't have all the upgrades for your abilities locked behind the challenges, I would much rather be able to earn them in other ways.
Tried playing the game while in offline mode on Steam after seeing some people suggest it and it actually helped a decent amount. However it still stuttered enough to be annoying so I don't believe there's much else to be done until drivers and or future patches.
Yeah the lack of driver support kills this game. I have a i7-4790k and a 980ti and it's unplayable.
I've got an FX-8350, and a 980. The game does not run at a steady 60 like that other guy said his setup (with the 970) did. I'm still enjoying the hell out of it, but I think I'm gonna wait for the drivers before I dive further in.
*Quoted the OP*
Did you literallly sign up to FP just to quote the OP? [editline]1st December 2015[/editline] Also, based on what I've read so far I think I'll wait a day or two before playing this, give Avalanche som time to patch things up y'know.
I love that UK adverts on Tube/DLR/buses have Nerd3's quote on them: "Best game ever". :v:
Man, this performance is so disappointing from Avalanche. My hopes for the game were riding on it running well like all of their other games, instead it's so buggy the terrain looks like a patched quilt and I can't cause an explosion without it crashing or lagging to death. Makes for a beautiful interactive slideshow though.
I love this game, the new tether system is insanely powerful and I've been killing guards using nothing but the tethers :v: I'm still having issues with the wingsuit though, I've faceplanted so many times with that damned thing it's not even funny, though I question why the hell you'd lock the ability to exit the wingsuit behind an upgrade. The load times are horrendous, and I'm not sure if you guys can alter your controls at all on PC but I'd kill to be able to swap the grenade and grapple buttons
