Just Cause 3: The one series we praise for awful dialogue.

I dont really get people who play Just Cause series of games. After watching TBs review and gameplay of the game, it looks tedious and shallow as hell. Its a youtube-fodder game, good for channels like PDP to laugh and scream "weeeee" while crashing planes on bridges.
I also envy people who can get enjoyment out of things I can't.
"Youtube bait" just seems to refer to anything that's fun that other people like to play nowadays.
I can only enjoy my games if they're miserable and no one else is having fun with it.
Well, after a mere 18 minutes of gameplay I had to refund it. Game's completely unplayable with all the stuttering going on. Aim - freezes for 5 seconds - move 5 inch - freezes for another 5 seconds.

It's a sandbox that doesn't pretend to be anything else, and goes out of it's way to settle player into a set world and yet provide them with plentiful overly effective and overly flashy tools.
It's a game that could let you just straight-up fly, but it's more interesting to deal with limitations. Parachute constantly desecends, wingsuit is faster version of it and you get to enhance their use with grappling hook at your leisure.
It's much in vein of games like Fallout 4, that are supposed to engross a player for hours upon hours, without relying on some epic and long story or multiplayer or challenge modes. Instead they provide mechanics and content that are fullfilling on their own.
People play Just Cause games to drive along sea-side road, witness a dazzling sunset, relax a bit and then drive that C4-clad sport's car right into El Generale's monument in the middle of a city's square, only to parachute moments before, so they can rain bullets on soldiers arriving to eliminate Rico. And as soon as baddies call helicopter to assist them, air-hijack it and fly off into the distance.
Just Cause is one of the few games that doesn't try to be anything except a video game. I'm okay with that.

I love this game.
I'm trying really hard to like this game, but between the bad controls, the gamepad not being mappable, the stuttering, the unsatisfying parachute-grappling, unlikable characters and boring story, it's tough to love.
I'm going to keep playing, maybe it gets better, but right now it's not a lot of fun. I've also had it crash twice now.
Besides the loading screens between almost everything in the fucking game. I'm so far enjoying it.
Why do motorcycles handle so bad? Driving cars is fine, but if I get on a motorcycle im all over the road and flying off cliffs.
Playing the start, just got the wingsuit and the game runs at 60 everything pretty much on very high, it does drop sometimes but to like 54 not very often though also the controls is hard getting used to, i'm supposed to wingsuit to the bridge then plant bombs and i pressed f to try and use my grapple to get closer, so i threw a grenade and blew it up and failed the mission lol
not getting any issues at all here on a 4gb 770 + i74790. Loading screens fine, got most settings on high and getting a stableish 60 that dips in crowded areas just by a bit.
those getting issues, you sure cpu isn't an issue? that might be causing all the stuttering.
Had no issue apart from this morning where it stuttered a lot, but that's because my anti-malware was scanning

Doesn't seem like it, seeing a lot of people with i5's worse than mine, similar to mine and even the same as mine doing well.
I don't know anymore!
How's performance on AMD gpus?
I just upgraded from a gtx670 to a r9 390 and I'm worried I fucked up big time going team red.
I've got an FX-8350, and a 980. The game does not run at a steady 60 like that other guy said his setup (with the 970) did. I'm still enjoying the hell out of it, but I think I'm gonna wait for the drivers before I dive further in.
970 guy here.
I wouldn't say it's exactly "steady", it's more that I average around 60 FPS. Sometimes it goes up to 75 FPS, others it tanks to 55 FPS. Usually, it's hovering in the 60s though. This is at 1920x1080, so I'm sure it probably drops a lot of frames from that at 2560x1440.
Still, given the reports of other people, I was expecting it to be much worse, especially at the highest settings. I was expecting around 45 FPS at best with stutters out the ass, but I don't have any of that.
I mean, obvious and kind of stupid question, but everyone has Vsync off, right?
The issues for the AMD folks are horrible though, and while using beta drivers does appear to fix them, it really sucks that AMD users keep getting shafted by AAA developers.

Do I look like some sort of barbarian to you?
My Geforce 750m can hardly handle 30 fps at the lowest settings. Gameready drivers are my last hope.

Apparently these are fixing the stutters people are having. Had a feeling this was all a driver issue, which is a shame, because they actually now got hurt for releasing it a slight bit earlier last night.
It fixed almost all of the stutter for me.
Still happens from time to time though, sadly.
Hopefully a patch in the near future will take it the rest of the way.
i can run it fine
also when you get in one of di ravello's propaganda vans, [sp]mile high club music starts blasting from the speakers.[/sp]

I am here to inform that Rico will say "Woah. Too close for comfort."
does anyone else feel like theres no anisotropic filtering despite having the setting up full?
Is there a fix for the game being stuttery as fuck yet? I got the latest drivers.
I could run Arkham Knight fine with no issues and I can run this fine with no issues.
What a great year for me

Same thing here. :v:
A lot less people are having no issues with this after the drivers however which is good.

Some people on reddit are saying that disabling the online mode can help with stutters and long load times. (Throw your steam on offline mode, or block the games exe with your firewall)
Others are saying disable steam overlay helps too.

I need to try that next.
I put steam into offline mode and I think that it may have helped. That and installing AMD's beta drivers seemed to help with FPS a tad and fixed the geometry problem I had.
I know that my 290 can run this game at least on high settings at 1440p, but damn if there isn't stuttering and massive framerate drops at random. But I'm having fun regardless! I need to get better with the wingsuit and not crash into the sides of mountains.
This ship ignored the dock completely, there was not even any fighting with collisions:

What else is wrong?
- Stuttering, even when everything is turned down to low/off/640x480
- SSAO flickering
- Bad bike controls (when you steer into one direction Rico first leans to the side before turning the handlebar, making quick responses impossible (at least that's how the scooter in one of the first missions react like))
- Title screen makes you look at the video where nothing happens for 20 seconds before logging in
- Sometimes slow vehicle camera turning

Yesss that completely fixed all my perf issues! Time to start playing this properly!
Though I'm having a little issue that the game keeps defaulting to the wrong audio output and I don't have any sound. Anyone know what I could do to fix that?
