new atv [hd]https://youtu.be/NGzDI2wUqf0[/hd]
The new ATV really made me feel like they're bringing it all together now, they had mention of just about everything coming in 3.0 (planetary landings, Item 2.0, Subsumption). I know every week they're making progress, but it at least gave me the feeling it's a lot closer than I was thinking it would be. Although I'm still waiting on a production schedule for 2.6.2. Aren't they supposed to be weekly things?

that first concept looks so much better than what they went with

[editline]4th March 2017[/editline]
that first concept looks so much better than what they went with
I'm no expert on ship design or how the Hurricane is supposed to work, but I think if the ship is meant for a quick flyby with the turret doing most of the damage, they wouldn't want it to be obstructed by being at the front of the ship. I like the final design quite a lot.
I'm getting access denied to it now, they might be updating it right now.
They just did. 2.6.2 target is March 23, Evocati PTU start window beginning next Friday through Tuesday, public PTU following.
what's in it? cutlass and buccaneer by any chance?
UI stuff, Star Marine fixes, general bugfixes, and the netcode/megamap stuff that didn't make it into 2.6.0/2.6.1. The next big update is 3.0 and we all know what's slated for it.

s2g if that new rifle is added alongside the g36 instead of replacing it across the board

I wonder how much that Star Citizen Billiard table cost.
[hd]https://youtu.be/-c2DogQL95o?[/hd]
This was a good video. Loved the part around 8min mark where they show new space travel visuals.
I wonder how much that Star Citizen Billiard table cost.
95% of the budget
The new ATV video was awesome.
[hd]https://youtu.be/-c2DogQL95o?[/hd]
The Reclaimer preview near the end confirms that it's basically the Nostromo. Can't wait for that thing to be playable.
This week's schedule is pretty average. Lorepost tomorrow, Banu-themed Loremaker's Wednesday, the usual Thursday and Friday. Happy Hour on Friday will feature Calix taking a shot at a first-pass game mechanic prototype live on stream. [t]https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/zd72q1esbwyjpr/source/MrFeb2017TX.jpg[/t] Last week's Vault update is a WIP of the Aurora rework. [t]https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/79xtquweu6fpmr/source/Aurora_Update_Exterior_05.jpg[/t] [t]https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/d25ne8oz7yrnbr/source/Aurora_Update_Exterior_01.jpg[/t] [t]https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/7k97py02mcodgr/source/Aurora_Update_Exterior_02.jpg[/t] Also, if you didn't see the News Node thread, according to Ali Brown of F42, CIG is going to be adopting Vulkan as the single long-term target. DX12 support could happen if it provided an objective benefit over Vulkan, but TL;DR Vulkan does everything CIG needs for close-to-the-metal APIs that led them to initially promising DX12 support.
That new Aurora looks great, I'm glad I grabbed it for my starter package, it just looks so sleek. Does CIG announce when Evocati gets their hands on new builds? It was all over Reddit for 2.6.1 but I havn't heard a thing about them for 2.6.2 yet, so I'm going off CIG running behind schedule. unless they post it somewhere I'm not aware of. I'm damn excited for 2.6.2, only because the 3.0 schedule that hopefully comes a little while after. A list of features they are working on/have worked on/will work on, and how they're progressing over time. Even if the projected deadline is at the end of the year or something, or not included at all, at least seeing the to-do list would be great.
The textures look much better but when i look at an aurora all i see is a visual mess regardless. go suck an 85x korro
the new aurora is still the same weird bug-looking pile of greeble in the end, but it looks much more fitting to the game's style now
The Aurora is just bizarre. It seems weird that such an outlandish design is the beginner ship.
Remind me what the fins are for again? Useless fins are only acceptable if they actually look cool
Remind me what the fins are for again? Useless fins are only acceptable if they actually look cool
Atmospheric flight i'd imagine
the lower fins look like they still have the ports that open up for atmospheric VTOL fans, which are still a bit hindered by the top fin thingers but whatever. [t]http://i.imgur.com/i0JBpJp.jpg[/t] I'd assume for such a small ship, the fins in general would be for stability in atmosphere, so it doesn't have to rely on the maneuvering thrusters (*wasting fuel) as much when you'd otherwise be fighting turbulence or just spinning out of control because it'd be a featureless tube without them
Remind me what the fins are for again? Useless fins are only acceptable if they actually look cool
They're not useless, they're partially radiators to help vent your heat. At least that's how the Aurora would perform in the past -- broken wings means if you're still alive your weapons probably overheat in 3 seconds flat. This obviously could all change with the rework/anytime.
The textures look much better but when i look at an aurora all i see is a visual mess regardless. go suck an 85x korro
The visual mess is camouflage, nobody knows where to shoot it (Not that you're alive long enough to decide when I'm the pilot)
it's like inflatable tanks in old wars, the enemy ends up shooting useless crap instead of vital equipment
Why are so many SC ships so dumb.
The visual mess is camouflage, nobody knows where to shoot it (Not that you're alive long enough to decide when I'm the pilot)
What about the giant glass pod at the front with the fleshy bits in it?
Why are so many SC ships so dumb. What about the giant glass pod at the front with the fleshy bits in it?
clearly a decoy, shoot the rest of the ship
You're all making me feel bad for not picking the Mustang now :(
