No Mans Sky's ending was added to Star Citizen
This is the loading banner for CIG's custom version of the Lumberyard editor. BDSSE Curious folder in the asset browser: "Boids" Also, weapons. Gonna fuck you right up with an Origin M50 shop. apar_special_ballistic_01? Now I'm interested to know what Apocalypse Arms is up to. Unless that's just the man-carried anti-ship railgun.
So, Round the Verse tomorrow, and possible schedule the day after am I right? They've really been hyping up this schedule release.
Here's the week's schedule. Thursday is AtV (Manchester's turn for a studio update, and they're going to discuss revamping the referral program). Friday is Happy Hour, the monthly report, and the weekly newsletter. And Friday is the day CIG updates their production schedule, so that should be included, especially how they've been talking it up since it should have "3.0" on it. This week's lorepost is about a very strange set of murders and a [sp]Xi'an drug that's a combination of meth and hyper-autism[/sp]
If I recall correctly, "Boid" is the name Crytek gave to their group simulation systems for animals and the like, think flocks of birds.
it's a generic term actually, as far back as half life. simulating flocking behaviours. but yes it's probably a generic cryengine thing

FREE FLY FOR ALL starting Friday and ending on Tuesday, Super Hornet unlocked for use. There will presumably be a promo code to activate, then you just download the client. More details whenever they go up. Over this weekend, there is also going to be a sale on the Dragonfly, P-52 Merlin, P-72 Archimedes, and the Argo. Remember that none of these ships are available as game packages, and none of them have Quantum Drive. And it's a UK Studio update, hell yes. [t]http://i.imgur.com/9ul4BBA.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/xuLeAs3.png[/t] Player interaction is in a sprint. This changes everything. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Sj7ZxW3.png[/t] Suit puncture and depressurization (atmo sim is engaged as shown by the debug) Dynamic field of view!! With the helmet-projected UI dynamically recalibrating itself to remain correct. Work is full-bore on modular truck stop interiors, station interiors, MicroTech's landing zone, and modular habitation set dressing. This is all necessary for 3.0, and things range from late-concept to nearly-done. What's interesting is the mention of MicroTech - that is the third landing zone needed for Stanton. All that remains is Crusader's Orison LZ. Hull C and Reclaimer are in the UK pipeline, Hull C's exterior's being detailed while the interior's ready for texturing and lighting. The MISC Razor looks like it's nearly hangar-ready, just missing its cockpit and probably a bunch of other internal details (and it's probably all fucked for actually flying still). MISC Prospector's got thrusters now, Connie Aquila is approaching flight-ready. [t]http://i.imgur.com/iFYkPZo.png[/t] Here's that anti-ship railgun, btw, currently being worked on by VFX. [t]http://i.imgur.com/WCs7RS7.png[/t] GPU-driven engine trails are in the works. I'm not even gonna prepost reactions about the Javelin. This is all the studio update. You can always tell when it's a F42 UK or Frankfurt studio update, there's so much great stuff.
ATV at 3am, oh boy
Last call for the Big Benny vending machine hangar flair for subscribers, if you want to throw $10 at a meme item, get in before Monday the 17th. There'll also be another flair, a ship model or some space plant or something as usual.
Holy shit 3.0 schedule tomorrow/today. The day is near!
[t]http://i.imgur.com/WCs7RS7.png[/t] GPU-driven engine trails are in the works.
This makes me so happy to see. I've been wanting to see engine trails in Star Citizen for so long, but gave up after being shouted down by the "muh realism" crowd 5 years ago when I proposed the idea. Aside from just looking cool, there's a lot of reasons the game would benefit from them. Everything in the game is so tiny and fast, and the distances so huge, that you spend basically all your time shooting at HUD icons. With engine trails you can not only see ships in the distance, but also what they're doing and where they're going. It gives you information on targets without having to rely completely on HUD elements. It also adds the ambiance of battle because you can see battles taking place in the distance, which would look amazing and would otherwise not see at all.
I put that screenshot there just for you, Why485, because I know you were way supportive of engine trails. :v:
Holy shit 3.0 schedule tomorrow/today. The day is near!
I don't think the schedule's going to put 3.0 PTU as being 3 weeks out, unless they start playing games with partial delivery and redefining what "3.0.0" means. And, I mean, depending on what WAS included, like any sort of live-testable-by-players procgen planet, that could go over very well and being able to play the new hotness for yourself would probably elicit the same surge in faith and enthusiasm in the project that 2.0 drew out (after a difficult 2015 with Illfonic's Noshow Marine and mumblemumble) and keep spirits bouyant until they're ready to get serious on Evocati for the next major stepping stone or two to filling out the promised 3.0 feature/content set. I think they'll have the timeline scale zoomed out or they'll use two or three rows or something to cover multiple months or weeks. But maybe they'll surprise us and it'll be a good thing and not a source of delay. But, we'll see in a few hours.
Free Fly is now active through April 18th. No promo code necessary, game access unlocked for all registered accounts and SH unlocked for all, backers included. The new monthly subscriber flair (not Benny) is a table with a holographic model of an ICC probe station, beginning the new series of holograph tables for various space/etc. objects. And this week's Vault update is a gallery of screenshots of the oooooold hangars. 3.0 Schedule is live! End of June/start of July is the current scheduled PTU date. No Stanton, still limited to Crusader and it's moons, Levski is a stretch goal. Lot of exciting info.
https://robertsspaceindustries.com/schedule-report
StarCitizen, procedural delays continued {it sounds cruel but it's like nonstop delays on everything} but because i expect only delays on project of this magnitude, it's not surprising anymore
I mean, it's not as if delays ever happen to big ambitious projects trying to bite off more than any publisher would be comfortable with bankrolling. The weekend Spring Sale is now on. There are Aurora and Mustang warbond starter packages with $5 off (new cash only, no store credit), and there is now a new Reliant starter package, an actual game package for the Reliant. $75 and no SQ42, keeping in line with standalone Reliant pricing + game package surcharge. The small ships I previously listed (Dragonfly, Merlin etc.) are on sale, as well as the 85X, and a combo pack of all of them. And, as always
Remember: we are offering this pledge ship to help fund Star Citizen’s development. The funding generated by sales such as this is what allows us to include new features in the Star Citizen world. Concept ships will be available for in-game credits in the final universe, and they are not required to start the game. The goal is to make additional ships available that give players a different experience rather than a particular advantage when the persistent universe launches. Additionally, please note that all decorative ‘flare’ items will also be available to acquire in the finished game world.
The March monthly report is also up! I haven't read it yet but here are some highlight pictures. [t]https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/vrwweump01e6jr/source/Designer_prototype_1.jpg[/t] [t]https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/79omfigwygefhr/source/Human_skin_shader_head.jpg[/t] [t]https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/bllbt274l7pihr/source/OnPlanet_02_AddOns.jpg[/t] [t]https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/4lh8e60ashnv3r/source/Global_lighting_team.jpg[/t] [t]https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/wii84j5git4irr/source/Vfx_test.jpg[/t] [t]https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/en1njkzvx8encr/source/Cellin.jpg[/t] [t]https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/ktuqubiilanl8r/source/Female_medium_marine.jpg[/t] Step aside, boys. Techbot also spotted this. The Bucc is live, the Dragonfly should be close to finished, the Aquila is said to be on the last stages to flight-ready, Prospector's getting VFX done so it's coming along but not yet, we've been seeing how the Aurora rework has been going and to a lesser degree the Cutlass, and the Raven's a variant so how hard can that be. But hello there Xi'An Nox. Bets on if it's a combat ship or it's that boxy presumably-vertical cargo ship that was spotted in very very primitive whitebox in the Lando leak? And separately, bets on if it's for SQ42 or we're being set up for another round of "surprise, here's another alien pledge ship priced at a significant multiplier of its game-meta value"?
https://robertsspaceindustries.com/schedule-report
Mustang update in July! At least it'll be close after the projected release of planet tech, so we won't be stuck landing with that janky ladder and terrible UI for too long.

The NPC spawning near objectives can be tough as nails, two gladiuses and an aurora fucks my cutlass to shit.
This is going to be a very interesting summer.
Do you think I'd be able to play decently with a GTX 760? It's been awhile but I read they did some optimizing so it runs better. I am planning on upgrading by the end of the year either way though.
My last card was a 760 and it ran okay, but you should have a good CPU as well if you want to squeeze out better performance.
My laptop plays SC fine with motion blur and AA off, like upwards of 80 fps sometimes even at near ultra settings. The game is pretty well optimized until the multiplayer memory leaks kick in.
Do you think I'd be able to play decently with a GTX 760? It's been awhile but I read they did some optimizing so it runs better. I am planning on upgrading by the end of the year either way though.
I had a 760 up till about 5 months ago, it ran okay-ish, 30fps on everything but the PU, PU ran 20~fps, but thats since bad netcode thats being worked on right now But I also have a fx8350
How do you guys even run the game? In Crusader i get 20fps on low on a GTX 1080 with a i7 6700k. Does the cheat engine singleplayer hack still work?
How do you guys even run the game? In Crusader i get 20fps on low on a GTX 1080 with a i7 6700k. Does the cheat engine singleplayer hack still work?
As far as my friend has described, the game's FPS is directly affected by the players in the server and their connection. The game runs quite smooth for me on a 760 and overal eh parts, but dips quickly once people join in.
I havea 760, 16GB of RAM and an I7 core. We recently upgraded our internet too. You know what, fuck it. I might as well try.

Does the cheat engine singleplayer hack still work?
PU is usually unplayable framerate wise because of the netcode. arena commander is better but still caps out your fps in larger games because of the netcode. we're hoping this will be fixed in 3.0. if not there will be a riot.
