cutlass is also getting completely redone to the cat/herald standard too so just wait
the cat probably needs a crew of 3 just to be viable
not if your gonna play comfy cargo ship simulator like i will
[sp]maybe for the whole "raid other ships for the cargo" tho[/sp]
Yeah I'm waiting but it's really tempting :v:
Never in any space game have I lusted after a freighter so hard.

if you're aiming for cargo over anything else and really want to pay into a big ship, I wouldn't recommend the cat unless you're desperately in love with the aesthetic. everything else at its level are higher cargo capacity for the value and far better armed than a cargo-only cat. You'd need to sacrifice a module or two to make it comparable in firepower to even the non-gemini starfarer

nah i honestly just want the perfect shitposting ship and the cat is basically that
can't name another ship where one of the main ways to attack is to slam into the side of another ship

Man I can't wait for space truck simulator 2020

I would unironically play the shit out of Space Truck Simulator 2020

I loved creating money in X3 games by trading and by setuping profitable businesses in sectors. One of the most wanted things i want from SC is for trading, mining and exploring be a big thing.
Has *anybody* been able to get into Port Olisar yet?

Crusader is disabled in the current PTU; they want people focused on testing Arena Commander and Star Marine.
i hope they appreciate the ten million crash reports they're getting from me attempting to play star marine

It's called Elite: Dangerous
It's called Elite: Dangerous
i tried that and don't really like it simply because the ships turn like absolute shit
whenever they fix that ill play the base game and see if i like it, because the turning is what breaks the game for me currently
Well he did ask for a space truck.

If you use the sim pod in the hangar, it generally works. The frontend is busted for some reason
So I played a bit of the FPS gameplay. Some more optimization is needed, but I think it feels fantastic. I like that the sprinting animation no longer looks stupid just because they wanted to keep the gun in the frame; and I find that there's a good balance between slow, tactical play that allows you to keep your gun up, and faster movement to disengage or get into position. That said, I'd like very much if they added a combat pace mode similar to ArmA, where you could move at speed in exchange for lowered weapon stability and accuracy.
Also, those cover animations need to be in yesterday.

I don't think there is anything to fix as they don't generally make sweeping flight model changes to existing ships. Barring some kind of bug in a specific new ship I don't see this happening.

They really don't turn that poorly if you know what you're doing; blue zone plus rolling and using pitch. There's really nothing to fix.

2.5 had a combat pace, it was weirdly bound but I remember there being a key that allowed you to jog quicker.

When I first started playing the ships turned like absolute shit, even when I learnt how to properly fly they still turn like shit, it just became tolerable. Going from ED to Star Citizen it feels like everything is incredibly responsive. In the end, two different flight models, two different games, and EDs flight model nicely fits the kind of game it is and what they wanted to achieve.
I just got into playing the alpha now that I have a new GPU and some extra RAM, and even with 30fps I'm having a blast. Only thing left to do is find or make a good HOTAS setup for the in game controls.

do you have a stick/throttle already or are you looking to find them to begin with?
my recommendation would be dual stick, both Thrustmaster T16000m as they're damn good for $50, and the molded grip pieces pop off and can be swapped with left handed versions
main hand- X and Y tilt controls aim (yaw/pitch), Z is rotation
off hand- X and Y for side and vertical strafe, Z is your throttle. works essentially like a motorcycle throttle
then you really have to sit down and fiddle with mapping out preferred controls. I put a lot of targeting onto a hat switch, decouple toggle, space brake, and boost on various thumb buttons, etc. Works great in Elite too

I already have a HOTAS Warthog and flight pedals, the issue is finding good profiles for it.
I'm looking into dual stick setups.
But I heard the new update nerfed strafe to the point where that wouldn't be as viable. Can someone confirm?
if you mean the current update, no, no nerf to strafing or decoupled mode
if you mean the upcoming one that's on ptu... no, they're reducing speeds overall and manoeuvring to match but it shouldn't mean strafing is less of a thing
