TBH I'm a little miffed about the pick of the T-14 as the CSAT tank for the DLC. We already have a CSAT heavy MBT, I think it'd be a lot more interesting to have something like the VT-5 light MBT, to fall between the firepower of the MBTs and the IFVs.

I know I know just a CV-90 with a bodykit...
But I can actually see AAF buying a few of these to replace their aging Mora IFVs.
I'm kind of expecting the AAF to get something in terms of arty or anti-air since they don't have any of those.

Anyone here have any experience with modding vehicles in A3? I had this idea of having a vehicle that has no model and is just a single shootable passenger seat that could then be attachTo'd to all kinds of stuff to add new seats to vehicles or just add vehicles to whatever weird contraptions you make out of existing vehicles. How hard would that be to do?

A lot simpler than that, I believe. Try using attachto on an ACE chair or other sittable objects and see if you can turn them invisible via HiddenSelectionTextures.
If that doesn't work, see if you can find a more aggressive chair sit script.

Problem is that those ACE chairs don't allow you to use weapons. I'm talking about those vehicle seats where you can raise your weapon and fire. Even better if it's one of those where you can turn out to fully stand up out of the seat like on the pickups or the wrangler.
Shouldn't be a big problem to make one like that. A simple empty model and a config.

There are samples of content for the game, they should be in your steam tools folder
You can probably just take one of the vehicle related folders and delete everything you don't need

I could probably do it if I wasn't leaving myself.
The easiest way to make things in arma is to base it off of something that someone has already done.
So try to unpack and addon and use that as your template.
You should really only need a basic config file defining the parameters for your FFV cargo position and an empty model that you can just make in Object Builder.
Of course depending on how much knowledge you have with scripting in general it might be a tough learning curve.

Suggestions/ critiques welcome. I'm thinking about extending what the mods affect out to more weapon systems/vehicles like the Bardellas or the Titan AA, but as it stands right now it's pretty specific in how I have this implemented. Can follow this post up with what vehicle/weapon system is affected in both mods if wanted.
Would it be possible to get that applied to ground vehicles? I think a ground based missile warning system for tanks would be pretty cool. Just so you have one second of alarms before your get blown up.
