I've a question about the upcoming modpack changes. Whenever the "Blended" or "flavour of the month" or whatever it's called repo is reset, all of the missions will be wiped (to avoid invalid mod conflicts), and that makes sense. But my question is, if I make a replayable mission that uses exclusively the main repo (e.g. only Sunday op content), and I run it as a Sunday op so it's uploaded as per a Sunday mission and not a blended-repo mission, would it still be deleted with the blended repo mission purge? Obviously, if we update the main repo because, say, CUP removed 10 things and added 50 more, things from before the update might be invalid and that'd be a logical reason to wipe, but I'm not concerned about that.
i'm super sick of mission purges tbh i mean, i understand the reasoning behind them but a TON of good missions have been lost and never recreated due to one modpack change or another here's hoping this new modpack reshuffling will finally end mission purges except for those "flavor of the month" missions also here's hoping this new thing will allow us to do more wierd missions with mods like the I44 content mod, the star wars/star trek/halo mods, etc
90% of them get played once and never touched again even when a mission designed to be replayable without the original game-master, It's not the purges that are the problem.
well yeah, i've long ago already complained that we don't replay sunday ops anymore like we used to especially back in A2 days as I recall it was pretty common to replay ops rather than expect a new one every single week i'm more complaining about perfectly good TvT's (many of them mine) that are gone due to modpack changes The original Hearts and Mines remake on FATA, Dog Day Evening, Niklasgunner's Counterstrike TvT, etc.

Well, previously played mission should still be available inside your MPMissions folder or whatever, no? As long as you didn't reinstall your PC or something.
Yes, every person who played a mission has a copy in their MPMissions Cache folder and will persist there until you format your PC. Mission Purges are required. We do back the old ones up and make them publicly available for download. At the time of writing, there's over 300 mission files on the server right now
Except Trashman's Duty, because that mission doesn't deserve to be archived.

TVT missions are all replayed and used relatively regularly on player demand. The only mission that we haven't remade in the last year's time is probably the Namalsk VIP, and that's because every map bar Podagorsk doesn't really fit. Also I'm not for adding CLAfghan until they fix the fucking fog errors with the dodgy trees. Maybe it's better on dev branch, somebody should czech that shit.

To follow up, two missions I would like to replay The USMC (was it?) one where we started on Jank-Docks™, did an amphibious assault with AAVs and pushed along the coast, getting shelled and airstriked the whole way. That short Takistan mission where we had a shitload of humvees, pushed through one of the north towns on the main road and just had to get to the other side. Both of them, I'm 80-90% sure were made as "replayable" missions.
The first one is Beach Party and the second one is Desert Gecko. I made Beach Party and even I am actually terrified of playing it again. Maybe if I made the landing less opposed to prevent a meatgrinder.
Beach Party should've been named Omaha Beach Party from the way it played. An altered Beach Party would be great but replaying it exactly as it was will probably give me PTSD.

But Beach Party was so much fun. We all watched that Diwako segment! To AnEvilGuy, CptMidlands, Fippe, Mallow and Rimbas: SHAME!
Beach Party was hella fun... after we got onto the beach and got into marginally defensible positions. My squad lost almost half our boys just getting off the beach. diwako was a fucking hero and he was left to die by lazy slackers.
Oh yeah I made that. Was meant to be replayable, but I guess it was also not very attractive due to using advanced medical.
I believe, for an ideal mission, I would have set it up for two respawn waves (well, two, plus the respawn for the end-picture) First one, about forty minutes in for everyone who died in the first wave and the second another forty minutes so everyone join the final push. This part disappoints me, because I quite like advanced ACE medical. Dislike basic ACE medical's thing where it's easier to heal someone under fire than it is to drag them to cover.
I have no experience with adv. Medical, but I don't think patching up people on the spot is a valid tactic, unless the enemy is really far away, since wathever shot that person is probably still shooting.
