So, since ARMA 3 is on sale, I'm thinking on buying it so I can play with you guys. Question is this tho, do you guys use only the base game, or DLC's too?
Generally the only dlc we ask for is apex, since it's the only dlc that will completely lock you out of content you don't have (specifically, the Tanoa map. It kicks you if you don't own it and the current mission takes place on it). All the other dlc will only disallow you from piloting the craft while still letting you ride as a passenger (if it's a vehicle), or just pop annoying watermarks all over your screen when you pick it up (if it's a weapon).
We do have a little bit of a complex modpack solution though, and the main part of it adds up to 30gb of extra content. You can ask us in our discord if you need any help with it.
we use the DLC sometimes, but the beauty of the DLC model + scale of arma is that it doesn't fully exclude you from the experience (unless we're playing on a DLC map)
you'll be restricted from picking up/entering any weapon/vehicle from DLC you don't own, plus being attacked by ads if you're scripted into a vehicle/gun but you can still use everything provided by the base game and the modpack
hey, for those of us that are missing ops sign-ups because we're burgers in a euro group, do you think you can have the sign-ups open at set times and give warning before it happens? some sort of automated thing where the signups open at 8 or 9 GMT+1, but we get warned a day in advance. Would that be too much work?
You need more us based mission makers, get Terry to post signups during us times.
We need more slots in total. Or people just need to stop signing up and not actually showing up.
Actually yeah, word. I keep having to lead squads with more than a quarter of my people missing and it makes the whole op really damn hard because we planned on having a little more for an objective than me, three fuckheads, and a truck.
Nobody wants us to become Those Guys but it might be worth tracking who signs up for slots and no-shows. One-off incidents are literally not even worth bringing up with the person, because RL always fucks with you sometime or another, but when patterns start to develop with specific people, the admins can start pulling people aside to have a chat about what taking slots and not showing up does to missions.
And, to be clear, I'm talking about a very lenient moderation curve here, with consideration given to RL priorities and temporary RL conditions. I don't want us to become -50 DKP assholes with rabid stat tracking and if you no-show to three events in three months you're banned for a year and shit, none of that.
But being able to have concrete data on who actually has a problem with no-showing will help us take a responsible approach to trying to minimize friction in signups and missions.
"You didn't show up for this saturday tvt you signed up for? You're fucking banned kid" is the thing to avoid. But I think the thing to remember is that if someone signs up and then realize they can't make it please just unslot. Like even that helps a lot.

Recently there were a few complaints that people in American time zones having a hard time slotting up to missions as they are posted while they are either asleep or not able to slot up due to work/studies etc.
I personally also want to post signups for some mission(s) in the future and as my missions are notoriously small for the current group size I wanted to get some feedback when everyone has a chance to slot up.
Keep in mind this is poll has nothing to do with the FPArma leadership and is more or less something I am interested in! Maybe the results will be interesting for others as well, who knows.

During this mission you will have the option to use light vehicles, deploy mobile respawn MRAP's, and even drive tanks to get whatever edge you can over your enemy.
