ARMA Series (I, II, III) - v. Are there mines in this thread?

Just a suggestion but I think Splinterry Island would be more suitable as a saturday TVT considering we don't have anything on saturday and some people (like me) won't be able to play that late on sundays.
I've got a mission I might want to do a testing run of Saturday, though I'll be doing some work on it tonight prior to bringing it up fully in Discord.
Splinterry [thing] are usually 30 minute missions at best so there's not much of a point putting them on their own day.
Since we are limited to the modpack, I did a reskin to get us immersed for this upcoming Halo mission(soon to be announced) this Tuesday.

The Halo-based operations on Malden continue with a joint ODST-Marine sector sweep, on Operation Exstinguo

Note: I flew over the building behind me
I want to thank all my bois, I'm glad the mission went well. I look forward to seeing more videos and screen shots.
See you guys next year for the next one.
How did alpha/able react to the metal gears?

So dog squad, how badly did I do as squad leader.

I know I just made the same post like 6 posts back, but now I have a picture too!
I'm glad the mission went well and you guys had fun, it means a lot to me to see you guys enjoy what I make. I mean that, I spend the last 3 weeks stressing over every unit, ammo count, spelling error, anything in the mission; having 95% of the mission go well is more than any man, woman, or Terry can ask for. It's the same feeling you get when you manage to talk to a girl and she doesn't pepper spray you instantly (I assume the feeling, I don't actually know). I had an absolute blast being sadistic and liquidating your assets with mortars.
I crashed within the first 8 minutes of the mission and I was terrified that this going to be a consistent, mission ruining thing. Especially after having been warned about the hundreds of zeus based issues other missions have had.
This iteration of TT I tried a bunch of new things, some of which were quite obvious (Metal Gears). I also made some notes on things which need to be improved and worked on. Prepare for giant mechs to get more and more ridiculous every mission. I was genuinely worried that people would see the mechs and be like "wow this is some shit tier memery Terry", but the reactions I got were absolutely priceless. (I want to see more videos of the reactions)
I'll try and not be a lazy shitter, and release a mission more frequently than every 12 months.
Love you all, :Heart_Emoji: :Eggplant_Emoji:
How do I apply to become co-zeus for Terry?
Until I died to the evac chopper randomly exploding. :v:
Which one was that? Because both exploded.
[sp]I may have totaled the first one by accident, when will other mission maker use Ace quickmount?[/sp]
The second one, I was still unconscious when the first one exploded :v:
Don't forget the recovery from floating inside the building :v
I'm pretty sure Terry and I have figured out a way to stop people from fucking up and spawning Plank objects into the helo, for next time. Namely, removing everyone's Plank objects when the evac phase begins. No more scrollmenu accidents.
I just wanna thank all the people who took it upon themselves to carry my unconscious body FIVE times and successfully saved my life. Until I died to the evac chopper randomly exploding. :v:
Man, running through the crowd of people trying to get to the chopper so I could carry the wounded back was maybe some of the most intense shit I've done in this game. It's a shame we couldn't get the evac to work, we needed more smoke (or maybe some warning on the order of minutes, so we could get in position). Wonderful mission, terrible framerate (as usual).

Mission went well
cant figure out how to login to my facepunch account after i was logged out for some fucking reason so i have to use an alt.
Malden is almost fully consquered, just some small pockets of resistance left in the North, and then a full push to the very south of the island and its ours. When should the next halo themed OP be? Stro was suggesting Thursday. Are people able to make thursday?

I'd be up for that, but once again I'd probably be late as I've got a class until about 25m past when this op began.
Okay, folks, I need some community input. I am at the point in working on Hermes' Tears where I need to make a decision: whether or not the mission will include civilian roleplayers for special purposes.
If the mission does not have roleplayer slots, it'll be an ordinary op and I'll make do just fine with the AI. On the other hand, if there is sufficient interest, I can add up to five roleplay slots to be filled by people who are ready to deliver top-tier roleplay. This is not a meme role and the primary reason for these slots is very serious. There is a particular moment of the mission where I feel that having live civilian players reacting would kick the mission into legendarily memorable status. I need people ready to bring their S-rank roleplaying game.
Hermes' Tears is being designed to run on autopilot, without Zeus. This means that Team Roleplay is an otherwise-normal squad attached to the main force that conveniently leaves the scene before they're needed for the specific reason for their inclusion. Conveniently leaving could be that they just desert or RTB, or their UAZ/whatever gets a cinematically-placed mortar from an angry god out of shrapnel range of the rest of the platoon, or something.
Before I proceed to poll the group's opinion, I want to make clear a few more details. I'm probably actually going to finish Hermes' Tears and then sit on it until after Nam Month is over, because it's the beginning of a five-mission (three Sunday-tier ops, two midweek/Saturday mini-ops) Tanoa campaign and I want to get a few ops in the can before I start pitching signups. If Nam Month wasn't on the verge of happening I'd be pushing the mission sooner and working on cranking the others out, but I'm not going to interfere with something that's already been planned out and it gives me more breathing room.
It would be easier and somewhat less work for me to skip it, because I wouldn't have to rig up a safe way of removing Team RP from the scene so they could be TP'd and dressed appropriately, and I wouldn't have to do rehearsal with them so they knew what to do. However, I want to give you guys the opportunity to potentially participate in what I hope is a much higher-quality mission than the ones I've done in the past, and the beginning of what I hope is a worthy, replayable campaign.
I also need to know how many people have LoW because this mission uses the IDAP vans and DLC restrictions could be a problem. Roleplayers may need to ride in, but unlikely drive, the IDAP vans. Consider whether you'd possibly be getting the DLC before the end of October into your answer, just in case someone's actually thinking of that.
= keep it simple and just have AI / I HAVE LoW
= keep it simple and just have AI / NO LoW

This vote is only general interest in the mission integrating roleplayers (including the other players having to deal with them - war crimes will NOT be tolerated and I will go into Zeus and smite you with a lightning bolt), rating tool or info does not signify that you are personally volunteering. I'll get to getting volunteers and talking them through their special purpose when the op's on track to being scheduled because one step at a time. However, feel free to indicate interest if you're ready to volunteer or if you want to hear more. (I won't be posting spoilers in the thread tho)

I swear to Christ people don't respect when you thouch your nose and say "not it" anymore.
But I have to say it was fun trying to tackle the beast of squad leading!

With a small squad and the right people in it, learning things like this is not so hard and actually fun. It also helps taking off the pressure of Squadleading really fast once you get a hang of it (and your squad members listening to you). It is basically social engineering mixed with tactical thinking somewhat. Hence why I keep people in my squad on a loose leash. Makes them have more fun and respond way better to commands.
