This is going to fail and the wrong lessons will be learned from it, and that's really, really annoying.
Did they change goal? I thought they needed only 350,000$... now It seems to be they're aiming for 800,000$.
It's always been $800,000, they where at just over the half way mark with 12 days to go. That being $350,000. They are now at $471,666 with one week to go.
Yikes, kicktraq shows an even larger drop in funding, it was still nowhere near reaching completion, but it went from a possible 88% to 76% at the end in a single day of no funding.

$483k on the main game with 5 days to go, funding really has dropped. Its really looking grim now.

Red Ash now has a publisher and will still be made even if the kickstarter fails https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mightyno9/red-ash-the-indelible-legend/posts/1308824
"keep funding us anyway though just pretend it's going to a stretch goal or something"

At least they won't get all the free kickstarter cash they wanted. I wonder if this publisher deal was already agreed upon before the Kickstarter even went up.
They did say from the very beginning that they were looking into finding a publisher
But if the deal was already done beforehand, that would mean Inafune launched the Kickstarter in a bid to get some free money.

Also, I wonder if this means the PC version is being cut.
This thing isn't gonna die is it? I guess Inafune wasn't satisfied with making a mediocre Megaman platformer, he just HAD to make a mediocre legends game too.

Kickstarter titles usually die before It's get fully released. One of the poor examples is Carmageddon Reincarnation. It took over 20 months after Kickstarter to finally give a playable Alpha/Beta version. Game doesn't offer anything unusual comparing to other titles released this or even previous year. It's just a Mediocore-game with old style.
So now that they have external funding, doesn't that mean that when the Kickstarter itself falls short, they'll get none of what they crowdfunded? Makes the Kickstarter funds achieved so far feel a bit pointless unless Kickstarter has certain conditions for this kind of thing.

They're claiming that the kickstarter funds will be used for stretch goals instead now. Of course, they won't say what those stretch goals are. No, really.
Exactly what are those stretch goals? We're sorry to say that will have to wait a little while longer!
This Kickstarter has been really awful, I actually have a cautious amount of faith in the game itself but just throwing out vague promises and concept art shouldn't be acceptable when what makes a good Kickstarter has long since been established. You put down staff, clear goals, and a demo, prototype, or mockup. Trying to keep it on the pitch level just isn't kosher. And then they go and do this! Transparency and keeping the faith of your audience is very important, and Inafune has none of that left after the MN9 debacle. You can't just go "ok we're taking your money but you don't get to know where it goes" in a Kickstarter.

It's just, you know, reputation-killing.

And even if he does it's gonna be an extremely uphill battle. It kinda bugs me that in general if people get burned on one kickstarter it turns them off the whole concept, even if the last ten they supported turned out well.

It's bullshit that people can make a Kickstarter, receive thousands or even millions of dollars, then not even deliver with no legal consequence unless someone tries to sue.

The guy got the money but he never released game. Just imagine, you get 100,000$ and suddenly you shut down the project. Money is yours and project is dead.
We did it guys! They didn't get funded! Source
Eh, it's a shame they magically got publisher money, but at least they didn't get a boat load of free kickstarter cash.
