Runescape V8 - I don't know, I just wanted a runescape thread that wasn't about the 2007 version

Alright, so started in 07 scape about 5 days ago, holding off buying membership till I have something going on on my account.
When is a good time to transition over?
I feel like doing slayer, got 44 attack, 50 str and 40 def, 52 wc not much of other stats.
Currently killing moss giants in varrock sewer for combat stats and prayer exp.
Also, who do I ask to join the FP clan chat?
Is it the same as the one in the OP?
I waited just after killing Elvarg before transitioning over. I asked a few pages back and there is no FB right now
(I just use the J mod FC's to chat while skilling)
Woke up today to kill some Cerberus, got confused as I spawned into varrock west bank's basement with nothing but slay helm fcape and ddef equipped, fear for the worst which happened. Rip my 300m bank
once when I was young my bank was cleaned out and ever since I have always banked all my shit before logging out, no exceptions
[editline]27th August 2015[/editline]
why not use a PIN though

That's what I almost always do, leave everything in bank just in case
I had a bank pin, it really baffles me how they managed to enter it correctly without failing
if I had that much money I wouldn't walk around with expensive gear to advertise myself to would-be thieves. most of the time I'm walking around in my default clothes

If your bank pin is easily guessed or if you have it set somewhere else such as a bot client it's easy for hackers to access your bank.
So much nostalgia.
Playing on OSRS on my true old school account. Is there any way for me too see exactly how long my account has existed? I know it's been atleast 10years, but it would be fun to see specifics.

Talking to Hans in Lumbridge on RS3 is the only way. Might only work for accounts under 10 years.
hans tells you in os as well

my account should be 10 years old some time in november
I think setting up an authenticator and a bank pin is what you should do if you plan to play this game to a point where it took you ages to get all your items.
Like the authenticator is pretty secure, and you only have to input it once a month.

Need 50 runecrafting and 44 more qp for that sweet sweet quest cape. I can probably do it by the end of this week since I'm done with most long quests.
Ive finally done lunars on my ironman.
Okay wow. I played the game for the first time in YEARS. I guess it was version 1 at the time from what I gathered? Anyway, I used to be able to craft runite armor and whatnot. Now I can barely craft adamantine. And it seems all my skills are way lower than they used to be. I take it they changed more than just the graphics. What are some of the best things they added to the game?
hands down the best addition was solomonstein's cosmetic store
Well, they made the combat much better. It's easier to level, so you don't have to go through an obscene grind. Plenty of interesting bosses now too.

If you can't craft Rune armour now, you couldn't then.

Huh. Maybe it was mining runite then. Either way it looks like a lot has changed since 2003. I remember I did login on the test server for Runescape 2, but that was just to check out the graphics upgrade. Sorry for the dumb questions.

I think the addition of ironman/hardcore ironman was one of the best as well. It gave people something to do after they got their trimmed completionist capes. The Grand Exchange was great too, but that's always a grey area with people who liked pre-2007 content.
woo splashing/afk nmz fixed
[editline]10th September 2015[/editline]
even though I haven't played in 3 weeks
[editline]10th September 2015[/editline]
good job I sold my smoke battlestaff, the price has crashed hard. same with guthans
Splashing fixed? Can I have a blog post or something, I want to see their official post on it.
edit for other people: watch until 2:15 for splashing/afk [url]http://www.twitch.tv/runescape/v/15368842[/url]
you can't afk while in combat for longer than 20 minutes or you get logged out
[QUOTE=zerosix;48655218]woo splashing/afk nmz fixed[/QUOTE]
It's too late, everyone who abused splashing is now extreamly high leveled or at 99 and everyone who didn't still has to do it the hard way, same with nmz. Everyone who didn't use those methods should get an xp lamp at varied values depending on current level or something.
I got Iron Dragons from Chaeldar when i'm in the middle of training ranged..
Addy crossbow with steel bolts is making this so slow.
And i'm only slayer two levels off broad bolts and 4 levels off rune crossbow.
Kill me
You should just go to ogre cage near ardy, buy some mith darts and ranged pots and go ham. It won't take long to get 61

After doing errands for half the population of runescape, I have to say the best part about it was the snarky and light-hearted dialogue. It was a bit offset by the lack of commas (fucking ratcatchers devs get someone to review your scrip), but overall it was lovely. PS:fuck mep2
the older quests tend to be the ones without proper punctuation. the best written quests were definitely the karamja ones. you can really tell they were trying to write quests for a roleplaying adventure game there, especially legend's quest
i'd love a quest that fully parodies the hobbit, with the possibility of getting a group of actual players to fight the dragon.
I just got a dragon plateskirt drop on my 22nd~ ish kill of iron dragons ever in runescape.
Why didnt it give me the obsidian cape from the tzhaar guys...
