So, I tried to make an AMA on reddit with Kids ranqe. Im currently talking to him, I know him, fuck Ive even met him IRL and I know he is up for it. Yet the respond from their shitty mods was "NO". Gj reddit.
Meh, Kids Ranqe hasn't been relevant in a long time and most people probably don't know who he is. Same goes for several other old school PKers.
So I'm leveling a character on OSRS for pvp and I'm looking up guides on the best way to level a range character. Some guides lead me to build a pure range dps, but I'm worried about that since I hear range characters are pretty squishy. There was another guide that said to focus on range, defense and attack which sounds safer, but I'm worrying that I pursue this build I'll hurt my dps in the long run. Which would be best for wild pvp?

If you want a fast paced PKing experience I'd recommend a 1 defence pure, you can easily get your ranged to a decent level and still maintain a relatively low combat level. If you want to be more tanky and fight Berserker pures / mains I'd go for a Ranged tank. High ranged/magic/defence, average attack/strength.
OSRS question, does anyone know what to high alch this week? There was that one page that lists an items alchemical value and losses/profits from it but it's a bit behind with the GE changing constantly It doesn't have to make me a profit, I just don't want to lose 50gp per spell

The only problem is the buy limit and the price for each item. Not a lot of people want/can put 10-25M gp in to 1K alchs.
What would be considered average attack/strength?
IIRC Attack and Strength combined must be 130 or lower, if it's any higher your combat will be based on Attack/Strength over Ranged or Magic. So you could do any combination you want. Generally 65/65, 70/60, 60/70 are popular combinations. I'd go for 70/60 which allows you to use an Abyssal Whip for training Defence.
Are any FPers going to Runefest this year? Can't wait to show all the work we've put into the new NXT client, it really is shaping up to be incredible
the amount of active facepunch users on runescape who live in UK is probably pretty sparse
Runefest from what Ive heard is one of the most cringiest events anyway. Not that its cringy because there is lots of fedora people but because the average mentality of the people there is that Jagex is some type of god company and anyone disagreeing is a moron. Oh, also extremely naive RS3 players bashing everyone playing 07 attends it.
i would expect runefest to be the embodiment of the /r/2007scape subreddit so fuck that
I've been playing RS on and off since 2005 or so with the same account. Just for fun because I don't like to new RS, I logged into OSRS with my account. Are you supposed to start a new character or is it supposed to import it? It wants me to make a whole new character. Just curious. Thanks. Loading up the login page made my hair stand up. Love that login music.

This is because there are skills missing from RS3, weapons and items missing, and of course the hiscores would be reset meaning that there's actually a reason for people to go for first 99s etc Also there's loads of new osrs exclusive content. They're essentially two different games

Same story with most of the people on the NXT team though, we're just there to make a cool game engine, very few of us actually play runescape
Awh... Sucks to give this up. :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/VI3GdXw.png[/t] You'd think I'd be maxed out by now.
those are some pretty meh stats honestly you could make those back within a month or two if you're committed to getting it back
I'm one of those guys that suck at leveling. I've never been good at it. When I used to play WoW it was a pain in the ass just to get level 20, while I see some people power through to level 70 in a week. Not sure if I spend too much time doing the wrong thing or stay away from grinding. My god I hate grinding.

My god I hate grinding.
ah, see, you're remembering playing runescape as a kid where all you knew was grinding. I came back to OSRS and realised that quests are actually fun and have great rewards, for example you can get 40 att/str/def in a day if you work hard just by doing a few quests there are a lot of grindy elements sure, especially at later levels - and especially agility - but we also live in the age where most people have two monitors and netflix subscriptions to make those parts of the game less of a chore
I think my issue was, that's how I thought you should have leveled up. I'd do quests, albeit very slowly. Then when I ran out of quests I could do, I'd grind to get the skills required. I hated construction so much. That was the most expensive skill to do at the time.

I'm 2 weeks~ into my month membership and have surpassed my RS3 account from like 10 years ago because this time i'm actually doing shit. I work full time too and sometimes do Saturdays, so i'm pretty proud of myself. The 1's are the skills I really don't want to do until some quest that I want to do requires them. My RC is 57 because nature runes is too fat money to pass up, and I can get 14 days of membership for like 3-4 hours of Rcing.

the worst part is jagex use that subreddit as official feedback
https://darkscape.runescape.com/ Some players just want to burn gielinor to the ground. Welcome to the madhouse.
https://darkscape.runescape.com/ Some players just want to burn gielinor to the ground. Welcome to the madhouse.
similar to old schools deadman mode idea, but with a few differences in how it works
I found Darkscape kinda meh in it's current state. Only around level 50 but I'm already bored to death. No teleporting is dumb as fuck and it feels like they're trying to force odd features in to the game. "Controlling trade routes" will just mean that people will be their stuff off-peak with an inventory of brews and tank armour, semi-invincible. I guess we will have to see how it turns out after this day 1 mad house.
you can't do like half of the quests because if theres a quest that teleports you, it doesn't work because you can't have items when teleporting even worse if the quest item is what teleports you, making the quest impossible to complete
