Wow, people weren't kidding about alot of people botting on weekends.
I leveled hunter from 1 to 63 in about 2-3 days casually and saw no one at feldip hills hunting or going for red chins.
I was working yesterday so when I came on today to finally hunt some red chins today there were just so many bots, its ridiculous.
They seriously need to add more places to hunt red chins and crack down on bots, does it seriously take that much to server hop on OSRS and ban them? I've lost count now the amount of time an aggressive bot has tried to take my spot.
its been a while since ive done jad, whats this setup like

Pretty surprised how dead this thread is with all the fucking awesome RF info.

God fucking damnit.
Doing Jad with 73 range & void.
Got to Jad. (First time ever getting to Jad in me playing runescape since like 10+ years ago)
I pray flick alright when sitting in the corner.
Run up, finally see him.
Realise I didn't look up his animation patterns that well.
He rears up, don't hear the sound for magic, flick to missles, didn't know it doesn't play the second he rears up.
Hear the queue for magic.
Switch to magic, but due to the magic of no Australian servers, even though I clicked it 1-2 seconds before he actually did the attack, I die instantly.
I don't know how it feels for protection prayers to come up instantly for people that have their region servers, but holy fuck am I pissed at the moment.

Level 80 div is the only one I'd find annoying (tho I already have 80+). That skill is fucking terrible.
caches make it go by a lot faster

I don't like runescape 3 but the NXT client may bring me to play it.
if they don't ever give runescape WASD movement, they should like do a dragon age thing, where you can hold down the mouse buttons to move
wasd would simply not work with the input delay
wasd would simply not work with the input delay
nxt wont have nearly as much delay (if any, I dont know specifics)
nxt wont have nearly as much delay (if any, I dont know specifics)
Nothing much has changed in that regard, but it's something we will hopefully be looking at improving post launch.
Also there are no plans for an alternative control scheme, but post launch I've been thinking about some kind of always run button similar to numlock in WoW etc. as it could be implemented client side and there wouldn't be any lag issue

Don't feel too bad, I've died at Jad twice already for the same reason and I've been playing since 06 with my only boss kills being KQ and kree

Oh my god. The Mining and Smithing rework is happening? I barely play Runescape at the moment but that makes me so damn excited for some reason. That and the NXT client I'm super excited for.

I was reading the updates of 2016 post and chatting with a friend about it when something occurred to me:
It says Sliske is tallying godslayers, namely Vorago and Armadyl.
It does not mention the other being to have slain a god recently: Strisath.
Imagine the Dragonkin in possession of the Stone of Jas... This could have potential.
Hit a bit of a milestone today.

Starting to close in on 99 hunter, 90 alone is exceptional, as in all my four years I spent on the main game in 06-10 I only got 83 hunter as my best level in all skills. Hoping I can get it done before Fallout 4 comes on but I think its more likely to come before my accounts 10th anniversary in March.

Every time they touch it, they get more angry at themselves... it's the most dangerous vicious cycle in the world!
So is it worth it at all to try to get an account unbanned? My old one was a few years ago because of unclear reasons (I'm assuming they thought I was botting since I would spend a fair amount of time grinding hunter in the swamp) but even after pressing for answers, they weren't specific and pretty much told me their bans were always right and would not be overturned, so I didn't bother. I tried making a new character with a different email address but I neither have the time nor the inclination to regrind all those levels.
yeah jagex is touting their customer support this week but it's always been dogshit and everyone knows it
Looking at the ban timeline again, it actually might have happened when I took a month long break before the combat update went live.
I was hijacked
Please remember that players are responsible for the actions of any person to have accessed their account. We provide a number of tools and tips to help players keep their accounts secure. In instances where an account was hijacked at the time of the ban offence, the account owner will be held accountable. Further details can be found via our T&Cs and Privacy Policy.
Ultimately the burden of responsibility is with our players, to ensure that their account is kept secure at all times. Further information on how to keep your account secure can be found via the Account Help & Safety Centre sections of our Wiki.

What the hell is this? How can I keep my account secure if I don't log in for a month and the ban occurred within that time? Of course I can't prove that either because if someone did hack it (if the ban wasn't due to mistakenly thinking I was botting) then it'll show up that I logged in. And I can't even corroborate evidence because of this:
I want to see the evidence/You don't have any evidence
We don't currently divulge any evidence we may hold as to do so may compromise our detection methods. We can't say it's an ideal situation, but we believe it's the right thing to do.
This doesn't mean that we don't have evidence, quite the contrary, it's just that we're not going to share this with you. Please remember that there is no benefit to us in banning an account unless we have evidence that a macro program has been used.
Additionally, since I'm not completely sure for what reason I was banned and they didn't divulge the information, I have no idea how to combat it. Also:
If you have tried to access your account, but you are receiving a message saying that your account has been involved in serious rule breaking, please login to your Account Management page and select 'Account Status' to see why you have been banned and when this ban may be lifted.
The funny thing is, since I've been banned, I can't log in to see the reason.
The more I read the support site the more I'd like to think it was due to someone hacking my account and that it wasn't because they thought I was botting. If the ban was due to the latter then there's something terribly wrong with their investigation system since it was pretty clear I wasn't botting. If it was the former then the first quote and my response comes into play. It baffles me that the victim is blamed in a hacking situation. There are scenarios where someone would straight up be unable to respond to a hacking in a timely manner. I also don't know why it just wouldn't lead to a temporary ban.
There's no livechat or phone number either from what I've found so I can't explain my case more coherently (I guess so their admins don't get swayed by emotions or something) but its still frustrating to only have one avenue to talk to customer support.
After spending more time looking into this, it isn't even about playing anymore, I just hate being falsely accused of something and the accuser not even giving me the tine of day. Although this point is moot if it was due to a hijacking, because I'm blamed for that anyways.

Darkimmortal, you have no reason to believe what I'm saying is true other than my word, but do you have any tips/suggestions on how to prepare a case to overturn a ban/make a more compelling argument against one?

I can't imagine them being able to utilize it much. they're pretty much shackled to the stone, presumably they can teleport wherever they want and possibly on realms where the stone was used by false users. maybe if one of the Gods uses the stone and leaves a byproduct behind like runes; then maybe the Dragonkin could use that energy to replenish the energy lost on the Mirror. one of them is probably thinking of using the mirror to clone himself some Orikalkum (Dragon ore's ancient name from the previous universe) to create Dragon/Orikalkum Dragons. or the mirror can "distort" materials/beings, essentially duplicating it, using it to create Minerals is more basic to an elder god than creating whole life forms...where biologically, the Elder Gods are passively preventing themselves from creating Sapient life. (just look at Mah)
If they actually used the stone on themselves for power, that's just sucking themselves off on their own curse, at least i assume that's why the Dragonkin who had V's life force refracted into him became corrupted, the act of using their own SoJ energy was tearing himself up on the inside repeatedly, until he became maddened with pain and became a mindless tumorous cancer-dragon.
I wonder if the life cycle of a planet goes Anima > chemicals > minerals > plants > animals > sapient beings. unnaturally, a being from the last 3 becomes infused with Anima due to changing states. the problem with the elder gods is that they need Anima for sustenance, however they repeatedly create worlds which they destroy to salvage something, but they eventually plain stop doing that. by the time they got to Gielinor, entropy already started to take effect. with Guthix however, he guided the planet into producing much more substantial Anima, eventually he slumbered into the earth and rerouted the anima and changed it's very nature; becoming near-ascendant in the process.
Guthix may have done the one thing that the Elder Gods failed to do, and that's just creating energy from nothing, or at least to the extent that he gave purpose to life that the Elder Gods consider as "mistakes". alarm bells had to have occurred if we have the Dragonkin, so the cycle is about to repeat itself. the Dragonkin's cycle of the universe is probably much more primal, electing for more scientific Alchemy rather than the lightened Gielinorian Alchemy.
If 6 Elder Gods went into hibernation, consumed Anima, then laid 6 eggs with 1 stillborn, that's 1 less Elder God. without Guthix providing a way that a god could ascend himself, reality can still exist. even if previous worlds are still destroyed. there'd be a netgain of Elder Gods. now if Elder Gods can only reincarnate, or ultimately "die" the moment they lay an egg, then the inital Elder gods we know of must've came from a long line of Elder Gods, alluding a much grander half-life.
Holy shit. I've been grinding for my first million lately and I finally earned it so I mentioned it in the f2p reddit chat and someone in there whispers me and gives me 2 free bonds. I asked him why and he said "Sounds like that's what you're looking for."
Indeed it was. Thanks a ton AllBiceps
I really don't like the idea of Invention. There are so many dead skills which serve no purpose other than being requirements for certain quests.
Atleast they're fixing Mining & Smithing, that's a start. I guess.
I don't know, i think my personal issue is how Inventor seems to have distinct advantages so far, but the slow speed for the first 20 levels is only for the Human tech tree. like the Dwarven Tree itself has shinies like a sprinkler that keeps patches disease free+watered, Book Swapper, Mind-Sapper (turns combat xp into skilling xp) with the mining accuminator (gets xp from charges whenever you fail to get a resource).
Seems much better than stuff like Cave Goblin's Dungeoneering mapper, flashbangs (thieving stunner), and the mind-controlled monkey butler, which sure it's Demon-speed and free to use but Inventor needs 3 80 skills so by the time you get it, most people are probably already 99 construction. i can only see it being useful if there was a devoted Inventor room inside your POH or something.
The idea of giving perks to weapons and tools is nice though. one effect for the moment is giving dragonfire immunity to a weapon like a Saradomin Sword, however they really should consider existing quest rewards, skilling benefits and non-tradable things (like herblore potions) before they suddenly add more sources of Dragonfire resistance. Just as long as they don't try to go the korean MMO route and have perks ultimately randomized in the effort to make money (off a shop), or just to sink lots of resources (likely the case). feel the best case would be having to be able to mix and match perks however you want, but some perks would reduce in charge which then you can replenish with any resource. apparently you can't stack up the same perks.

My ideas of the perks...
Efficient: Drops drop instantly?
Wise: maybe 2.5% xp boost?
Hoarding: maybe more damage/defence if you're holding tertiary drops of the monster you're fighting? so you're more stronger fighting dragons if you're holding hides.
Whateverbait: Agressiveness?
Whateverslayer: Damage boost.
Glow-worm: Fishing chance boost?
Diver, Mort Myre, Dessicated, Frozen, Moist, Muddy: Area-based damage/defence?
Pious: added prayer bonuses?
Spirit-Linked: Additional Damage/Defence based on the familiar you have. maybe non-combative familiars may have stats but otherwise doesn't fight, adding sidegrade value to them as familiars.
Magnetic, Treasure, Hunting, Taskmaster's, Keen-eyed, Looting, Bazaar: Drop influencers, probably Ore, Gold, hunter drops (skilling tools), fills up urns? (taskmaster), keen-eyed (adds lower rate tertiary drops), Looting loots instantly, Bazaar adds unusual drops...spawns store npcs?
Junk food is listed twice!, so is Timid, Enlightened, ect. or maybe if the perks are random, you're twice as likely to get those perks?
