when people ask for money just give them tokkul and trading sticks
can i have 300,000 tokkul thanks [editline]21st January 2016[/editline]
today my cat killed a rat that a dude was splashing on. why the hell do people splash on rats instead of some other low level monster anyway?
whenever i needed to catch rats, using the splasher rats was great because they stayed in one place whilst being splashed on
today my cat killed a rat that a dude was splashing on. why the hell do people splash on rats instead of some other low level monster anyway?
cuz splashers are too stupid to realize that the xp rates are complete shit they can also do literally nothing about you killing their rats and are typically too stupid to just go away when you keep doing it. it's great
cuz splashers are too stupid to realize that the xp rates are complete shit
now that you have to stay at your pc to continually splash, it's a complete waste of time and there's much much better xp rates for just a few more clicks. but back when you could do it overnight it was definitely worth doing, it's the reason i have 79 magic today honestly. i feel bad for doing it because it felt like cheating but good that i've got such a high magic level and spent very little money getting it
Why was splashing ever a thing Like Actually use magic like it was meant to cmon :v:
What does that mean, splashing rats. Hitting zeroes?
What does that mean, splashing rats. Hitting zeroes?
Pretty much. Runescape gives you XP for every cast of a spell, meaning that continuously casting a combat spell you can't hit with on an enemy that can't hurt you results in a constant stream of XP.
What does that mean, splashing rats. Hitting zeroes?
if you wear full metal armor you get such a negative magic bonus that you miss every cast (not even a 0, but a 'splat' of the spell not registering any sort of damage) but you still gain xp for the original cast. its what lets people get to high magic levels without gaining hp experience, or more commonly, afking
so glad they fixed that shit in eoc by making xp a per kill thing not a per hit thing
so glad they fixed that shit in eoc by making xp a per kill thing not a per hit thing
Yeah, I gotta say that's one of the things about EOC I actually enjoyed. There was plenty of stuff that made it pretty shitty, but it had some decent ideas.
Apparently my account was hacked and banned for macro usage. I hadn't played in a long time and was really excited to get back into it; is there anything I can do or am I fucked?
so glad they fixed that shit in eoc by making xp a per kill thing not a per hit thing
Somehow I feel like this made leveling much less painful in eoc but eoc is such shit
... but eoc is such shit
What's wrong with it? I haven't gotten a chance to experience it yet, but from what I read while looking at the RS wikia page it looks like it's more in-depth, varied and dynamic than the old combat.
nothing really, just when you were used to the old style combat, it was a very, very very big change, it broke pures and changed a lot of combat dynamics in pvp and pvm. but nothing is inherently wrong with it I dont think.

It's easy to adapt to, even for older players. It provides active combat, not just a click and wait standstill. You really have to be a complete curmudgeon to hate it. "These young whippersnappers and their newfangled combat. In my day we just stood there until the enemy died and that's how we liked it!" - OSRS players. It's like living with people who want to drag us back to the fucking dark ages or something.

it is easy to adapt to if you take the time to learn it. as someone who got in years after they put in EOC after taking a long break, it was confusing at first but after a few days it wasn't a big deal at all. especially since most of the process is automated. and the fact that you can stick it on auto makes it even easier to adapt to, so that kinda goes against your point.

And I adapted to it with little problem. It's really not hard, and there are plenty of guides. Do you know who uses Legacy? Nobody except PKers and those too retarded to adapt. It's vastly inferior to EOC, with which you get much better defence and damage. EOC is good for all combat, if it's bossing, slayer or just smashing cockroaches for fun. Momentum is obsolete and will be removed, and Revolution is EOC. I rated you dumb because your statements are stupid. Wearing rune at level 30? You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.
Haha is there that much drama between OSRS and RS3 players? I play OSRS because that's what I grew up playing, that's all. And I have no problem with people that enjoy EoC. To each their own, right?

After playing Dota 2 these special abilities seem okay. Especially adrenaline healing. Though I still don't understand how accuracy/attack rating works. Also if you're a member grab the free items from the runecoin shop, free 3 bank space boosters
In the last 48 hours people has gone from.... • Dismantling Maple/Yew/Magic shieldbow (U)'s for the resources/XP. (Hotfixed a day after God Capes were made unsalvagable) • Dismantling God Capes for God Components (hotfixed out) • Dismantling Adamant Hatchets for Sharp components. (they're one item required to make Weapon Shells) • Dismantling White Knight grind armor. (Knightly componenets is crap, but feels better than Steel. White Gloves is only 6gp ea) • Dismantling other random Junk. • ...Diamantling Hand Cannons & Polypore/Ganodermic. XP from siphoning/destroying augmented gear has been increased by 1800%, and making gizmos were reduced by 50%. but now a larger problem is people killing bosses inside instances, supposedly they could get like 500k XP in 10 minutes. vs the old rate of making gizmos with Handcannon junk at 4m per hour. one guy siphoned Subjugation Garb and got 270k xp, presumably that's just a level 8 item's experience, you get more XP for destroying items with levels since there's no -2 level penalty. The boss instance thing seems like a bug if the game only awards item XP because bosses are bosses rather than represent their level.
Uh, dismantling?
Uh, dismantling?
Invention. whenever you dismantle an item you get random stuff, so maybe shieldbows has tensile parts or whatever, whilst GWD items might have god components. someone discovered on the first day that Handcannons had nice junk but only because making gizmos from the Explosive compounds were nice for their price. so suddenly you're seeing people buying oversupplied items like Handcannons from 30k to about 800k. making gizmos just requires a mix of any materials, Explosive components just happened to get people 4m xp per hour before xp from making gizmos were nerfed. Think they nerfed Item level experience gain from bosses by only awarding xp to the person who did the most damage instead of having the same xp to anyone who tapped it. Now gaining xp is slightly more accessible besides dismantling items or building devices, you just have to kill stuff to level up your items and siphon the experience for the Invention XP. EDIT: 2 people with 120 Invention, and 38 who's 99 or above.
Well at least Jagex ARE doing something about the broken exp rates.

I don't even think it's much of a nostalgia thing because I was never big into RuneScape anyway [editline]29th January 2016[/editline] It is easy to adapt to and it is much more interesting, (ESPECIALLY combat) I'm not going to disagree with that. I just get more satisfaction from playing OSRS more for whatever reason - which is strange because RS3 definitely has a lot more to do [editline]29th January 2016[/editline] Invention sounds grindy. I'll be interested in elite skills when sailing becomes a thing

Especially now, with Invention's release - that ate up a lot of cash and spread even more around. Sailing will never be a thing. The next Elite skill is almost guaranteed to be Necromancy.
Wow, this game is so fucking grindy I actually got perma-banned for macroing for killing Experiments and getting logged out for not having the page open every fucking second I play I've never macro'ed before. I grinded my ass off for like 30 combat levels in the cave but I did it myself. Fuck RuneScape. I can't even appeal it because they're so god damn cocky that their automated response is "NO WE WOULDNT BAN INNOCENT PLAYERS" [editline]29th January 2016[/editline] Would like to add that I haven't even been on in 3 days or so [editline]29th January 2016[/editline] Says my date of offense was yesterday. I didn't log on yesterday. Nobody knows my password
