I really doubt I have any keyloggers or anything of the sort, I don't get it

well yeah if you knew how you got hacked you probably wouldn'ta got hacked in the first place dude
just sayin
SOMEONE didn't get their pair of fancy boots...
Can't believe they fucked up so bad with Invention. Another garbage update and skill.
From what I've seen of invention it looks like it's a skill that was thought up simply to be an item sink to remove quantities of weapons/armour etc from the game

And then they spent a year figuring a way to make it not look like that.

Not that getting rid of items/adding more gold sinks to the game is a bad thing, it just seems like a really poorly executed item sink
Probably the best way to fix Invention is to make the perks more substantial.
Shit like "20% chance to reduce incoming damage by 5% for 30 seconds" is exactly the kind of trivially small and situational bonus that people mock games like Torchlight for, and making it cost so much in both time and resources is criminal.
The worst part is that, in many cases, the buffs are barely even noticeable but their debuff counterparts are huge!
Invention is alright, now they've fixed most of the kinks. But yeah, perks need a definite boost.
Which is all in the works. I'm sure batch 2 will give us some juicy stuff. It's not done yet, not by a long shot.
So yeah, I got hacked. They sold anything I had of value, and then used my account to bot at the blast forge. Bad news, they took all my gear from my bank.
Good news, they boosted my smithing to 70 (from like, 48) and left 1k mithril ore and 2k coal in my bank which I'm now smithing into bars at blast forge to sell on the GE.
So basically my ban was lifted, my smithing got raised to 70, and now even after I bought all my stuff of value back (I really didn't have much except for a set of rune armor, a dragon longsword and some jewelry) I still have more money than I did before I got hacked.
I'm not saying it's a good thing... But I can't complain.
[editline]31st January 2016[/editline]
Still not sure how it happened though. I set up the authenticator on my account and set up a bank PIN, changed my password and am currently scanning my PC so that this doesn't happen again. I haven't been on any dodgy RS websites, just 2007scape.wikia and RuneHQ
Invention really needed a system to remove level 90 weapons. Pretty much all level 90 weapons are dirt cheap at this point and they need a system to remove a lot of them from the game. Make Vorago, KK and other bosses actually good again.
Would be nice if Invention had a Kanai's Cube-esque way of granting passive effects to equipment like the DKS boost and noted bones from Fremmy boots onto any regular boots, or adding Blisterwood's ability to damage Vampyres onto weapons of a similar type, latter type of enchantment would have a large material cost in itself w/comparable invention XP for discovering it but afterwards you can use much less resources to swap out abilities. or maybe Blisterwood would only enable it to be used on tier 75 items and below whilst Sunspear would be 80. if they add yet another Sunspear weapon (technically Kara Meir say's its a dagger but yours is a sword) then that one would be 85. but that's just another can of worms if they add an easy to aquire tier 80 vampyre-killing weapon that has regular tier damage as a Chaotic; or just make them a rare drop from Venators if they're fightable in Vampyrium.
Obviously the damage/accuracy boost probably shouldn't be applied since you could augment weapons up to 85, and you'll probably need 500 kills first just to act as a skillgate. seems a bit bad that you can't augment Sunspear/Blisterwood at all just because they're easy to reobtain. or Vyres are low leveled so they might not be good for invention xp.
Dragon crossbow - 10 mil
Off-hand dragon crossbow - 9 mil
Armadyl crossbow - 3 mil
Off-hand armadyl crossbow - 7 mil
Ascension crossbow (crafted from dragon crossbows) - 75 mil
And that's exactly why I'm with an off-hand rune crossbow

Not to be that guy, but you can easily make that 10m for arma c'bows in two hours of making summoning pouches or smithing or doing barrows runs or any of the tons of methods that invention has made super profitable.
Man, this new quest likes to put you against dozens of enemies at once. Abilities aren't enough so I had the brilliant idea of using barrages.
Well, I was in the NXT beta and let me tell you - it was pretty fucking amazing and oh boy I'm sad to see it go.
Shame Jagex immediately followed it by stealing our Dwarven Instinct Auras, the cunts.
Double EXP weekend hype though. I've already started stocking up raw materials i'll need.

Glad you liked it!
Currently digging through an absurd number of bug reports (like over 10000) and cooking up some more crazy optimisations, so hopefully it will be even better next time :)
(Not a clue about that aura thing, I'm not really much of a player myself)
Edit: Yeah seems people are aware shit is going down about the aura, should get resolved soon I imagine
Personally the only issue i could see that the Devs might hate is the random swing in high level rewards or the glut of some items like Dragonstones. like the Chest could spit out upto 13 of them if you're near max, and whole trisks spits out an elite always+a few dragonstones. the chest itself can spit out hard/elite clues and crystal keys. they might as well make the aura a split effect. the original effect would spawn a chest and the alternate would spawn an NPC. the NPC could probably have the choice to hand the items directly to you in notes or in raw things, or bank the items that you just got.
Dwarf could passively increase run energy/prayer points if you're not inside the wilderness nor if you got hit by a non-LRC monster in the last 5 minutes, the Dwarf could probably generate/provide items that is relevant for whatever skill you're doing, such as Coal for mining, which could promote the use of Superheat form since you could reliably use the prayer on stuff other than Iron Ore. excess items not claimed could probably be stored at the challenge mistresses. the point of the NPC is that the chest can't be seen in high-player places because it's possible for objects to not be rendered, with an NPC at least they could move about.
Fish: Fishing, Firemaking/Cooking (Raw), Combat (cooked)
Ore: Crafting (Gold/Silver), Mining (Coal), Smithing (Bars)
Gems: Crafting, Killing monsters, RDT-influenced stuff (elite monster kills, barrows chest procs, getting a slayer drop).
Logs: Woodcutting, Firemaking, Fletching.
Herbs: Farming, Herblore (can choose Unfs), Combat.
Gems from a RDT proc could let you collect a mix of items from 2 tables with slightly higher inherent value than just picking 1 item. trisk parts can come from anything as a bonus, but the whole trisk is only possible with RDT. Or add the prospect of Alternate items that you can keep from other procs like maybe Cooking can let you choose Raw Fish or you could pick slightly more equal-value "Pre-makers" which just encourages production skills directly related to gathering skills? no idea how to balance Mining pre-makers since instantly smelting and banking bars could be slightly OP for finished items when stuff like juju has at least 5/10% chance to do that?
With that said, if the dwarf worked as a portable banker (for some activities) could make stuff like mining a boon, especially since there's already competition between Porters and Gem-Finding scrimshaws which is really noticable during Traehaern hours or in other skills like fishing (casket scrims) and woodcutting (tree-shakers). Porters themselves kind of fell flat on their face except for Amlodd ones since they're essentially free without having to pay through the nose for gems/Necklaces+Energy due to Invention.
EDIT: If they go with the banker method, they probably should be charge-based based on the level of resource you're gathering, the level of the skill itself and what tier of item rewards you are based on your total level. so you could probably bank like 1k logs or 200 rune ores, or whatever. if you get all the charges upfront then there's no need to endure a full hour if you can bank items before the hour's even up which reduces total-devotion to making the most use out of it. Shifting usage from Porters to Scrimshaws would mean that people using Jujus to bank ores would just avoid using up bank charge like how banking w/juju takes priority over porter charges. caskets from scrimshaws really should be made into stackables however.
So… Dwarven Instinct! We’re sorry about that, a lot of you felt confused and upset by the fact we removed the aura. Our reasoning for the removal was that the balancing of drop tables was done on the basis that the aura was a temporary addition to the game – keeping it in its current form was not sustainable.
We didn’t communicate the removal in advance as we should’ve, and we’re sorry if you were disappointed by this.
To make up for this, we’ll be re-balancing the aura to ensure it is sustainable, and will be returning it to Premier Club 2014-2015 members on a permanent basis at no cost. We’re aiming for this to be added to the game in a couple of weeks. If there are any changes to these plans, we’ll let you know!
so I've started afresh in OSRS, how hard is it to get enough gold to sustain membership through bonds?
Not very difficult. Making 250-400K GP/hour is pretty easy.
If you're 100% fresh I'd recommend doing Hunter, Red Chins at 63/80 is great money.
My total level is nearing 1000 on OSRS and I have yet to touch Hunter (or Construction)
Managed to knock out about 3 1/2 million exp this double weekend. Pretty good effort if i do say so myself.
Unrelated to double xp, yesterday alone I managed to reach 38 herblore, 50 mining, 53 cooking, 53 fishing, 40 agility and 60 defence. I also completed edgars ruse, grew my cat, did evil daves part of recipe for disaster, did shield of arrav and heroes quest.
My goals today are the feud and 59 (from 45) magic
[editline]29th February 2016[/editline]
Working on getting my arms big adventure done for that sweet sweet diseaseless herb patch
Then it's to kourend for lizard amulet so I can teleport to that farm patch faster
[editline]29th February 2016[/editline]
All in preparation for the money needed for training cooking to 70 so I can get rfd done
Is it bad knowing that Tool Gizmos got pushed back again? to the extent that a Mammoth outfit made by a player turns up unannounced except for 1 news post, to the extent that the tools themselves are split from Fishing/Woodcutting but not Mining...all sidelined just to push out the Agility/Fletching suits? those suits' models is already in the game.
Feels like March is going to be an 2 update month, where everything else is stuff from Febuary; with the only real content being the Easter Event (probably eats 2 weeks) and GWD2 (which has a community event grinding for the whole month).
there's already GE images of the suits and a strange shard/fragment. guessing they're going to milk some sort of Farmers' Suit esque promo or something, unless they're dummy images of something that was bought in the FTP Giant Mole/KBD update?
EDIT: The lack of Gizmos for Pickaxes is probably because they don't want Traehaearn Rune hours to be overpowered, despite not even starting on the Smithing revamp yet, once they release new high level ores, no one would want to mine Rune if the value is inevitably pushed down along with it's level to 50.
I've been inspired to give OSRS another go and am starting from scratch as just a free member for now (don't know how long i'll play)
anyway, any recommendations on what to do? On my old account I mostly wasted my time walking around member areas and slowly grinding cooking so I know jack shit about RS tbh.

Find quests and do them. If you want to save time, google what items you'll need for the quest and then buy it all on the GE beforehand.
I mine iron ore for levels and moneys (mainly moneys) since I'm a low level f2p superpoor but it's decent low skill money if you're ok with clicking. Woodcutting is a lot less clicky but you'll invest a lot of time in order to get any good cashflow.
I could actually use some help with the Shield of Arrav quest
I still haven't completed it but I forgot what side I chose, you want me to hit you up on steam when I'm home?
In the meantime there's plenty of useful quests that can get you started.
ALSO, does anyone know any better ways of f2p (OSRS) moneymaking besides iron ore, yews, and cowhide? :v:

I joined the Phoenix Gang but if you can at least help me kill the Weapon Master that'd be shway

sent you a thing on steam
