Runescape V8 - I don't know, I just wanted a runescape thread that wasn't about the 2007 version
What do you mean "you people"?
I mean the sort of people who proclaim OSRS is better purely because you grind more have have less conveniences.
There are a liteny of reasons why I dislike rs3, less convenience is the smallest one.
Those were the reasons you gave. But I've said my piece. If you people want to remain in your mud huts, eating bark and huddling around a campfire instead of accepting progress and modernising, then that's your call.
Just don't pretend you're somehow better because you can't adapt. I played OldSchool when it was the actual Runescape, and if you showed everyone then what we have now, we'd have been chomping at the bit in excitement.
Why you gotta be so toxic? Calling people who play an older game bark eaters?
Oh, you're lium, you're always passive-aggressive.
Being actually aggressive gets ya banned.

Hey, thought experiment for you: what if taste and preference isn't objective? Wow would you look like a tool with this argument

They still update OSRS. It's a way different game from RS3 at this point. Personally I don't like RS3 because it doesn't feel like Runescape anymore

Woahhhh
How about you try not to pretend you're somehow better because you don't enjoy what we enjoy?
And by "less intensive" you mean "click and wait".
The graphics are truly sub-par to anything made this century.
I'm neutral on the subject of numbers, though "massively inflated" is overstating it by a pretty big amount.
There's no such thing as a "wheel of wonders" in RS3.
I'll take you on our word for the PKing thing, since I have never given a fuck about that.
"Harder" in this context means "more grind-intensive", not "more difficult".
And you're fucking deluded if you don't think OSRS's community is toxic as can be.
The graphical fidelity personally adds charm to it for me, mostly because of nostalgia.
That, and having really up to date graphics doesn't matter too much if it has it's own artstyle. Yeah, it can be used as an excuse, but I think it really works out here.
And it's really not that toxic. You just have to find a vocal minority to think that about any group. Why do you think everyone thinks 4chan is a hate filled waste pit?
Being said, I don't think I could get back into runescape sadly.
Don't want to play the new one (don't like what the game has turned into), and don't want to waste another 1000+ hours of my life on the original getting all of my skills back up to 99.
Was a bitch to do the first time, and I don't even think I got slayer, herblore, hunter, and farming to 99.

You should really stop being overly-aggressive with your posts. You're coming off as a bit of an ass.
both sides of runescape are pretty damn toxic to be fair, especially if it gets into arguments over which side is better. oldschool and rs3 both have their pros and cons and each are generally suited for different types of players. I can't really get into oldschool myself, so I get a bit annoyed when someone calls rs3 'crap' (cough cough)because it sure as hell isn't crap. but it certainly has its problem areas, just like oldschool.
I'd love to get into oldschool but my god am I not looking forward to the grind. I dunno maybe I could do a pure or something
the grind isn't so bad when you realize you aren't 13 anymore and a shitload of easy to follow guides exist. getting 99's is obviously still a huge grind but getting to reasonable-leveled skills isn't that rough in oldschool or rs3.

That's why I've been playing RS3, it's so easy to farm up skills. I'm not really looking forward to degrading armor and all that sort of stuff though which is why I haven't been playing.

I'm rather stupidly trying to get 99 Hunter in Old School. At 93 and I've already passed my previous record of 83. Most of my XP is Hunter and I've realised I've built up more XP in less than a year doing it than I ever did playing the game from 06-10 originally.

which is one issue with rs3, every damn thing late-game is some sort of degradable gear that either takes a shitload of resources to repair or just disappears.

yep, its the same here with pretty much everything. back in the 'day' I used to just sit around draynor cutting down willows for weeks, basically, but I'd do it so slow because of all the people/bots doing the same thing that I barely got any money and didn't realize that I would barely make any money as it is. and not that much wc exp either because I was such a low level that I kept getting attacked by that stupid dark wizard :v:
People actually use the degradable stuff? I've just been using full bandos for ages, but i am only 75str/att/def.
People actually use the degradable stuff? I've just been using full bandos for ages, but i am only 75str/att/def.
for high tier pve, degradable is the only way to go, especially with raids. for like, gwd and such, low level bosses, gwd armor is perfect, but for bigger things you need bigger gear.
someone correct me if i'm wrong, but a membership for rs3 also gets you a membership for osrs, right?
someone correct me if i'm wrong, but a membership for rs3 also gets you a membership for osrs, right?
Yes. Bonds also give membership for both games.

This. I played when i was 10 til i was around 13, and now i have played oldschool for 3-4 months total and my account is a gorillion times better already.
Old school is harder, but more casual in the sense you're not bombarded with content.
Not to mention the community is a++ and that's what makes or breaks an mmo

Whaaat? I play ftp and I talk to people all the time, everyone's always friendly. I've gotten 650k in random gifts just this week.
But yes, it is more grindy. It's everyone's favorite game to play while doing other things! Rs3 caters too much, it's become a lesser game because of it. See: teleport everywhere. Haha no, in old school, you're walking unless you're a mage.
Tbh you're being a bit toxic yourself
[editline]18th March 2016[/editline]
The only thing I miss is dungeoneering. I wish it was brought back as a mini games or something, not a skill
Man, the community is incredibly toxic. Always people shitting on each other, there's a reason why I play with public turned off. Same exact thing goes for Runescape 3.
F2P isn't a good indicator of the community as a whole. People who play F2P are usually either returning veterans looking for a nostalgia kick or just newer players in general. I can get why people want to talk to each other in F2P considering 80% of the population on those servers are just bots.
I didn't even think about bonds working for both, I'll probably just get to the point where I can do barrows farming or something for bonds then level a pure on old school since fuck it never done it before
The one downside to oldschool is that it doesn't have The Chosen Commander. The entire dorgeshuun questline is my favorite in RuneScape, and I was really hoping to have that quest in the game for how awesome it is.
This NXT client is looking pretty good. Everything is so smooth. Except some of the texture caching.
Logged onto old school for the first time in a while yesterday and dropped straight into a drop party at the GE, managed to score myself a sara and guthix set, as well as a few rune weps.
Not bad for logging on for nostalgia.

Didn't mean to insinuate that it's a bad game at all. I just personally prefer OSRS and it's what I've always played and am used to. When I was typing, that's just what came out. RS3 just isn't my cup o' tea, I respect peoples opinions though. RS3 and OSRS both have their pros/cons.
fuck dude i found out the best scheme profit margin wise but there's like no demand behind it
i'm just processing soft clay into unfired pots but they're just not selling

there's two axes on a supply and demand chart
gg just somehow fucking lost ~200k
admittedly it's my fault I didn't set a PIN but I honestly have no idea how I could've gotten hijacked.

Keylogger.
They can't track PIN setting or entering, since the PIN is set and entered by clicking randomly changing buttons.

Same happened to me a while back. I use the authenticator now (changes every few minutes and you only have to enter it once a month unless you're on a new pc)
