Doing quests without guides is frustrating, but so much fun at the same time.
just look up what items you'll need and then figure out the quests for yourself for maximum adventuring enjoyment
Unfortunately it's nearly worthless, but still pretty neat to get something so rare. I think I've only gotten one or two of these in my entire RS career (2003+).
playing an ironman can be fun simply because you have restraints that you wouldnt care about normally. no trade or ge (or treasure hunter in rs3) means you have to do everything manually, leveling skills that you normally wouldnt care about simply to finish a quest. you'll end up saving a lot more as well, so items that are normally worthless to people will be more meaningful to you. however, the endgame can be quite a bore, since you cant really participate in a lot of group activities, and a lack of trade also means that getting some super rare items dont feel as nice since you'll probably just end up high alching them or shoving them into the bank since you cant sell them.
A friend of mine plays it, he finds it challenging but fun. He says you have to think about the game in ways you don't normally.
Yea, that's what I hear too. It also forces you to do things in Runescape you typically wouldn't do due to trading.
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what but the new Arclight sword seems pretty meh.
it doesn't. higher slayer = better monsters = better loot = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ so DO IT
I can hardly bear most tasks without a cannon, im a total efficiency nut in rs so slayer = -$$$$$
for whatever reason, barrows tabs spiked today if you want insane super afk money i suggest you take advantage of it that done was in only 25 minutes
idk man be careful with those, when they first came out they crashed hard and some youtube guy lost like 15M off of them
idk man be careful with those, when they first came out they crashed hard and some youtube guy lost like 15M off of them
i meant craft them yourself which only costs runes (you need 83 mage but you can boost it with magic potions) it's 2mil profit an hour right now they went up because of elite clue scrolls and the master clue update today i guess
is anyone involved in the main clanning scene on 07 id love to check it out someday but it all seems like its comprised of people who have a lot of experience from the past, where should I even start with this stuff
big clans are pretty gay
probably an unpopular opinion but i feel like rot looks like it would be super fun to be in their coordination and skill is just insane, looks like a blast to go greaters or something with them
is anyone involved in the main clanning scene on 07 id love to check it out someday but it all seems like its comprised of people who have a lot of experience from the past, where should I even start with this stuff
I'm not sure how the clan scene looks like today, but I used to lead several large clans back in the day, some of the largest clans at the time. Many clans have forum threads where you can apply, PKing "skill" isn't really required since clans win by numbers and coordination. As long as you can listen to call outs and react fast you'll be fine. If you look closely att clans like RoT, individual members aren't really good at PKing but they have the numbers and the coordination to beat pretty much anyone. If you find a clan, a good way to get a good reputation is to volunteer to do the shit jobs, stuff like TBing, dragon spearing, dragon scimitaring etc. If someone new came in to our clan and volunteered to TB during the first couple of trips we would instantly take a liking to them. You should also be wary of clans that ask you to bring ex. AGS or other high value items on your first couple of PKing trips. There are clans out there that lure and BS their members for expensive items. PKing in a big clan is a lot of fun, even if you're not very interested in PKing. I never really PKed solo very much but I found PKing in a huge clan so much fun, especially when we ran in to other large clans and had huge 40v40 battles.

Will definitely take all of this into consideration
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what but the new Arclight sword seems pretty meh.
Try it on iron and steel dragons, a friend of mine told me that it's rather effective on them since they are weak to stabbing and the arclight sword has a huge stabbing bonus.
it wouldnt be nostalgic then would iiiiit
I don't think the client takes away from the nostalgia. [editline]8th July 2016[/editline]
does this 2007 version have a downloadable client?
It does. There is also a tool called RSBuddy which further upgrades the client with various helpful features.
I really think they should stop polling every little thing. Anti-botting measures that also fit thematically into the lore? Why the fuck would they poll that, and of course it failed.
too bad a majority of the community is thick and just wants a mountain of slayer and max-combat bossing updates
That's part of what makes OSRS so great though. Every single update is something most of the community asked for. There are not many games that do that!
it's great in theory in practice it boils down to "no, we can't change that because I already suffered through it the way it is now" either way you shouldn't poll game integrity issues
I really think they should stop polling every little thing. Anti-botting measures that also fit thematically into the lore? Why the fuck would they poll that, and of course it failed.
I liked the witch trial that they had.
I liked the witch trial that they had.
hmm?
Try it on iron and steel dragons, a friend of mine told me that it's rather effective on them since they are weak to stabbing and the arclight sword has a huge stabbing bonus.
The stab bonus actually seems quite low - http://2007.runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Arclight
There are definite problems with the polling system but the good outweighs the bad imo, and if we start letting stuff slip through the cracks it creates a consistency issue
I'm going to cry
start trekking son
they fixed that so it isn't that bad anymore... but getting to 85 woodcutting... eughhhh
