Runescape V8 - I don't know, I just wanted a runescape thread that wasn't about the 2007 version

speaking about rs3, and quests, adding onto what I said before, I really hate how they made all the critters on ape atoll non-aggressive

Which critters? I did Monkey Madness not too long ago and I got pretty much assaulted constantly

they changed it back to being aggressive, and then they changed it again to non-aggressive :v: you can roam around and none of the spiders and snakes and shit will attack you (the monkeys will, but the rest wont, which was the whole point of the quest being so dangerous because of the constant poisoning)
one small favour without the ability to teleport with items in your inventory was ludicrous
I'm thinking about getting into OSRS again, can't decide.
My account has 98 fletching, atk/def/str in the 30s, and 70 ranged along with some other stuff. I always threw really expensive gear around and didn't care because I made all my money playing poker for gold instead of actually earning it.
How difficult is it to ACTUALLY make say 5 million? I had about 110mil when I quit but I sold most of it and gave some away.
You can make 5 million in a couple of hours.

Not at all really, but only if you're in members. I'd imagine something like daily ranarr runs and blast furnace would get you it in a weekend.
Currently it takes me like 2 hours to make 5m at zulrah but thats endgame pvm

probably not with level 30 combat stats
there's non combat stuff that can net you nearly a mil an hour though
It's going to be 10 years of Runescape this November for me. My main account still doesn't have a single stat at 99. I like to listen to the old school RS music while lying on my bed nowadays. It reminds me of simpler times when all I had to worry about was school and getting to higher levels in Runescape.

I got my first 99 a few days before getting my 10y cape
It was more punishing than mechanically complex or hard to understand. He's like Jad except he drops you down to 1 hp prayer or not instead of endless grind just to get to the actual boss.
You pretty much described Runescape PVM in a nutshell.
Im looking forward to more mechanically complex PvM in OSRS. I think that hybridding is a blast and the combat system is a good basis for some interesting extrapolation. Zulrah and Raids was a great start. Cant wait to see what they do with Inferno.
how about some cool pvp for shlubs like me who aren't max level and want to do something more interesting than slayer forever

DMM and LMS were both actually pretty fun but LMS is dead
You should check out the next DMM season when it rolls around though, its a blast. Other than that just try to catch the tourney world openings to have some fun there. Doesnt take very long to build a gmauler either. Lots of pretty easy ins to PvP even if you arent maxed.

I meant PvM but I typed PvP for some reason
PvM for shlubs like me please
I just recently started my account again in osrs for the first time since 2004. It's really weird to see how much has changed since then

King Black Dragon, Giant Mole, Godwars Dungeon & Wilderness bosses are all PVM content that can be done at mid-level and can be very profitable.
Zulrah is a fun experience of getting hit by range in mage form.
To be honest there is a lot of mid level PvM content, in fact I'd say most content is mid level, 80-105ish. All the things ejonkou said + barrows, maybe KQ, Dagganoths (although I have never done most of these).
this new agents of furies event seems pretty easy, since you can get all the emblems in like, an hour
just did some monkfish fishing and got all 1,000 before I even had 20 inventory fulls worth of monkfish
I managed to get my 13 year old permaban appealed. Nice to see my old account again.
To anyone who is thinking of exchanging all their Runespan points for Unstable Essence for Rue, it's probably better to just do Runecrafting as normal but use the Massive Pouch. with all 5 pouches, abyssal titan and Infinity Ethereal, you're using over 100 essence per run. the Massive Pouch costs 1k but lasts 42 uses at 18 ess each. compare to the lack of Runes from using Unstables which costs 500 Runespan points for 200. (though they stack)
Best part is that Ethereal and Runecrafter's Catalyst also works on Massive Pouch, making it last like 3-5* as long. though massive pouches can't be repaired.
Fast XP+Low/No GP+low attention <-> Slow XP+GP+High attention.
Runespan only
Runespan, w/Unstable essence
Runespan, w/tablets (Blood lasts 50%~ as long if Morytania legs prevents it from breaking)
Runespan, w/Massive Pouch, nursing it with wicked hood charges+Tirranwn Quiver.
Runecrafting, running with pouches.
Actually Runecrafting with no Runespan
Abyss.
The intensity would swing if you're using stuff like Grahhk or other methods. Alternately, if you're barely runecrafting but already got your Esteem ranks. having massive pouches would just make daily hood charges a bit better. especially when Menaphos comes out and they mention something unexpeceted like more Ancient spells that uses souls. (assuming the altar comes out with the city)
i played runescape in 2007 and am a cheapskate what should i play
i played runescape in 2007 and am a cheapskate what should i play
pretty sure you can play on both if you get a membership for one, so its all up to what you enjoy more
i played runescape in 2007 and am a cheapskate what should i play
get membership, you get both RS3 and OSRS
I managed to get my 13 year old permaban appealed. Nice to see my old account again.
How did you manage that? I have an old account that was compromised when Yahoo was hacked years ago and they botted on my account, got permabanned, want to try and get it back
i played runescape in 2007 and am a cheapskate what should i play
In addition to what others have said, once you get your footing in either game its pretty easy to make the money for bonds which give you membership without having to pay a cent.

after many years I have gotten my first 99 in AFKing once again!
I got to around 90 Fishing on my first account, but I've lost access to it.

I think I just got lucky with my appeal. I got banned for trying to sell my account in public (me being the smart 12 year old). I assume because there was no chat log or any proof recorded, they just revoked the ban.
So i got the Hanto Armor yesterday. godsake Taijitu costs is pricy as hell. it costs 150 just for all 3 weapons. I know that they were formally TH-only things and that placing them in the Arc is thematic as reward content. but i wouldn't have mind if they added some special unlockable ability like wearing more pieces would bestow smaller effects, basically being a specialized slayer outfit.
Hanto armor alone costs 90 Taijitu+whatever chimes.

Been away a long time, don't wanna go dropping cash on membership but was previously a member making money via astral runecrafting, once I've got a bond it's my plan to go back to that. What's the best way to make some quick free-play money with these skills to get me my first bond? I've got just under 2M in the bank at the moment.

There aren't many methods to make good money in F2P. You're looking at a good 20-30 hours to make money for a bond.
You're better off just buying a month and use that time to snowball your wealth to fund your membership.
