Economy is quite topsy turvy at the moment, but it is also nothing that can't be explained.
Whips are so cheap because they were so common, and since they are/were used exclusively for PKing, virtually none of them were being removed from the game (people would kill other players that had whips, then would try and sell the whips right away for profit, and would be picked up by the same guy/kept, so the cycle continued), and hundreds more were being added every day. Basic laws of supply and demand.
All the valuable stuff is hyper-inflated because of the absurd rate that coins are entering the game (through squeal of fortune, micro-transactions, increased drops, and so on). In fact, the inflation is so bad that items like crackers are starting to hit the 32 bit integer number cap of 2,147,483,647 for grand exchange price value. This is also compounded by the fact that most of the best stuff (ascended, etc.) is now non-tradable, so people have no need to go spending money on items and supplies and will generally just stockpile stuff.
It is quite an opposite effect to oldschool RS, where the lack of the Grand Exchange means people are not as easily able to get stuff like weapons or tools unless they have connections, make/get it themselves, or are quite lucky.
tl;dr coins are entering the game without leaving the game, so naturally everything becomes fucked over from inflation
What we need is a nice gold sink. Spending 40k PER WEEK to help rebuild lumbridge isnt going to make a dent
Jagex needs to some how get the number of players up again, I think that's a pretty big problem at the moment.
Is it just me or are there a lot more Zam/Sara warriors in the event area now?

I think they started joining the fight after the second vote began
So this is rather odd:

Now, there's two things wrong here:
1) I've already saved this guy before.
2) There was no object at that spot.
So after starting to light the second fire, this guy appears out of thing fucking air.
What I'm going to go ahead and guess happened is that the block of ice that he's normally in spawned there.
But as I had already saved him, it didn't show up and I happened to light a fire in the right spot.
I doubt this is the case, but it's all I can think of.

yes, jagex upped the spawn rates in the last patch.
Okay so I'm doing a bit of High Alch and I have the Razer Naga mouse. Would making a "macro" for the mouse (itself) to press 7 and click on the stack of items be bannable? It isn't an external program.
I don't see why it would be
i'd advise against it, i don't know how botwatch works but it's possible that it might pick that up.
even if it does count it's only a 24 hour ban so whatever
Guess we'll find out soon :^)
Havent played RS in YEARS. How much are xmas crackers worth? I still have two from the original drop back in RS1.
ill find a buyer for you and ill only take 10%

um ya it is the mouse uses external programs for the macros

But it's from the hardware. Not software.
Lol a half jug of wine is worth 320,604,356 coins
That was just laziness on Jagex's part, instead of removing them they just said "yeah its rare now"
Well the new voice acting is actually pretty good.
the voice acting for the two dudes in Edgeville and the mother and daughter in Ardougne are pretty shitty though
the dudes sound exactly the same and the daughter sounds like she's a 23 year old woman
Looking at the GE

Guy keeps sending trade request
Open Trade with Guy
Guy Gives me 1 mil
Say "uhh thanks"

No, as long as you're performing the action it's not macroing. I used to do that before, just binding it to my spacebar and just tap it as I'm watching a movie etc.
Botwatch detects mostly robotic movement.
Right now according to the bot sites at least, logging into any third party client can get you banned. So don't use Swiftkit or Powerbot.
I keep thinking about how close to 99 fletching I am as I'm currently at lvl 95, then remember that I still have just under 3.9m of xp to go.
But at my current rate I should be done by the end of next week, woo

By Runescape/Jagex Logic (considering that I assume you have Razer Snyapse installed and used that to make the Macro) then yes, it's considered a 'Macro' afaik. Your best bet is to put the item you want to alch directly where the alchemy spell is, so you don't even have to move your mouse and just tap.
god damnit

I'm pretty hyped for the August bts.
Price of cannon balls and steel went up. spend about 200k on Steel bars, got 300k back from selling cannon balls.
Did I really just watch a Nick Jr. ad to get a free spin?
Price of cannon balls and steel went up. spend about 200k on Steel bars, got 300k back from selling cannon balls.
and how long did it take to make those bars into balls?
It's a little less than 3 minutes for an inventory full so about.... 25 minutes with running back and forth for 200 bars.

And that's at Port Phasmatys with Morytania Legs? they speed up cannonball production by 2x.
Seems tedious to make 100k in 25 mins, and that's assuming the bars bought at med and the balls sold at med, why not farm? Sure it requires lots of quests and ach diaries done to be optimal, but the money made from herbs and marigolds are earned passively plus its modest xp in comparison to fruit/trees which is usually the more costly method of the 2.
Takes something as short as 5 mins to pick and check herbs and flowers, though there's the 75 mins growth time for herbs, but that's multitasking for you. :P
rip Black Knight's Fortress quest. it's nice that the combat difficulty scales with our levels though
