Fishing, slow? During the Double XP Weekend it's like 220K+ per hour.
Damn, all the new kids are spoiled.
Not really spoiled....probably more set in my old ways. i mean really when you have Monkfish fishing at a faster rate than Sharks, you naturally turn to looking down at later level methods just because it seems like levels are more of an impact than the actual fishing-type itself. like Cavefish and Rocktails needs regular rod fishing it probably doesn't help that since post-EoC, that demand has shifted from Sharks to Rocktails making the inital climb through sharks sorta pointless due to that effectiveness/LP thing, probably 95 now but the later levels were probably from casual Barbarian fishing or whatever just because i was -this- close to finishing off a diary task or whatever....
But since Mory needs Ghast familiar and Barb needs either 2k slay points/Fire Cape....yeah. probably bad to use unfinished tasks as an excuse for saying fishing is boring. but the skill is genuinely more tedious than Woodcutting and Mining. those 2 has static locations for things with the only thing being competition, though trees are naturally multiple-logs and Mining has concentrated ores or a fastroute with Granite.
Doesn't help that both skills are represented in Divination, but all fishing has is potentially transmuting the fish itself....assuming you're converting on the dot just to avoid running to bank for a while?
I want to get the full Wicked Robe set, but goddamn if it ain't tedious getting over 20K points.
I want to get the full Wicked Robe set, but goddamn if it ain't tedious getting over 20K points.
That's tedious? Try getting 99 rc in the runespan along with esteem rank 1
I'm not going to bother with esteem ranks, unless they have some secret ability that the wiki doesn't know about.
Divination is mad easy.
making money at a low-ish level is so boring, killing unicows/iron dragons drains my sanity
whats a good way to make money at 150 cb? ~70 atk/def/60 str/75 mage/57 pray with minimal non-cb stats
I'm not going to bother with esteem ranks, unless they have some secret ability that the wiki doesn't know about.
It's a requirement for trimmed comp cape if you ever go for that :v:

Ech.
Anyway, my username is Sir Mundy. Everyone should me as a friend so we can ignore each other.
I just spent the better half of two and a half hours high alchemy spamming just so i had enough magic to do Family Crest, one of the last few requirements i need to start Legend's Quest.
My question is why does Legend's ask for 56 magic, yet one of the required quests needs 59? Feels a little silly.
Divination is like a more boring version of Runespan outside of Runespan.

Because you can use boosts on the 59 one but not the 56 one.
I really wanna switch to killing Blue Dragons but I don't know if they are worth a step up from Green Dragons since a combination of their hides and bones together has a difference of 100gp.
What the hell I'll just go ahead, more xp won't hurt.
I truly can't fathom how idiotic people are for thinking that voting for a Divination Beast of Burden familiar would be good....i mean it only holds memories, the time it takes to open up the menu would make it counter-productive due to adding another layer of anti-afking since you'll have to open it 5 times just to fill it up, even if it automatically filled up as you collect memories, you'll probably have to get energy longer...
I liked the Boon booster (since it'll indirectly increase xp), and increases divination resource spots/amount of items teleported with a porter...sounds almost as good as the energy forager, the energy forager could find energy, portants....and Signs. if it's like a magpie chances are Signs would be the crappiest item since they're basically the equivalent of a gold ring to them.
And the Chronicler is utter crap, it's ability isn't as great in comparison to the other familiars, assuming you get worse xp than handing them to Guthix's altar, now, if it could teleport to Divination spots, that would remove a large amount of running for turning in the 10 Chronicles, but compared to the other familiars, they'd seem like they would be better practically. if just for the resource/porter improver familiar.
Also Jagex looks way price gougy with the Solomon holiday items, wouldn't be surprised if they don't add the current ones as overrides for people who actually got the items, think they did the same thing to the turkey hat and the flaming skull.
Also, the whole 138 combat thing is biased; people are only voting for it either so they could rollback their stats...whilst rune is still 50 and iron is still 5, or they think that it'll actually change calculations for all monsters. summoning/prayer/herblore will never be good again, modern overloads is probably depowered compared to old-overloads, this is just yet another thing they're thinking of doing to attracting players who left back to the game, despite not changing the game mechanically, EOC is still going to be enforced with the current Runescape.
You can't please everyone, Jagex. Make up your damn minds about your game.
[editline]14th February 2014[/editline]
Oh, and Divination isn't worth anything.
I do wish Jagex would make up their damn mind. I liked 200 combat, now it's going to go back to 138 and I'm going to have no idea what it means any more.
It's not jagex, its these idiots that are thoughtlessly picking the pre-eoc option. I honestly think that this Power to the Players thing was a silly thing for Jagex to introduce, people are just gonna vote for things that undo everything Jagex has done the past couple years

probably because those 'idiots' don't like how jagex has turned the game into EasyFacebookScape over the years
EoC combat is a joke and there's virtually no more penalty or risk for dying anymore (if you even manage to die somehow nowadays). the game is fun, but combat is not
pre-eoc combat is a joke as well
you just left click and sit there, id much rather be 'immersed' by button mashing rather than manage my inventory while fighting something
it may not be as engaging but at least it was a unique system to runescape rather than some cookie-cutter cooldown crap from every other MMO
how is it unique to do the same motion every time ad infinite?
I prefer 138 Combat over 200, I think the switch was 200 was stupid as hell... Why shouldn't all combat stats be taken in to account when you calculate a combat level? Some guy with 99 Defence / 99 Magic has the same total level as me, and I got every possible combat stat maxed. Combat level means absolutely nothing since the Evolution of Combat, you can be running around with a bull ant and be max combat.
Jagex dropped the ball here and the players didn't like it. That's why it's winning the polls, people who oppose it are most likely low levels who will never get close to 138.
how is it unique to do the same motion every time ad infinite?
Stuff like special attack, potions etc. made it unique. Runescape was known of it, that's why people kept returning to the game because it's all-round unique game. Jagex are trying to force it to become more mainstream..
Runescape's ability bar isn't on par with most MMOs. World of Warcraft, Rift, Wildstar.. all have it polished and the game was built with it from the ground up. Evolution of Combat came to try to draw some Warcraft junkies in. I really like the new system, but it's not on par with most MMORPGs on the market today. Jagex needs to step their game up if they want to be taken seriously.

There was penalty of dying pre-eoc with all the grave timers and blessing. Penalty is much larger now then it used to be 2011/2012, you have bosses with Vorago, Rise of the Six which are going to fuck your day up if you're not prepared, you loose food and gear charge. Pre-eoc the only boss which was remotely hard was Nex, but that got soloed easily.

Currently when I see someone I can figure out reasonably what their defence and attack stats are. With the old system the formula is so complicated.
Also I assume because 138 that it's going to take into account summoning again, which as far as I know is still worthless.

lol what summoning was/is useful as heck, and summoning boosted combat because it could be used in combat and stuff
also with the combat levels thing maybe being reverted, would armour stats get reverted too?

I don't use Summoning in combat so I don't know, but I always see people on the RS forums asking when the Summoning revamp is, since people don't use their steel titans anymore. I assume because summoning wasn't really updated alongside EoC.
I know summoning is useful, because everyone uses it, but I seriously cannot be bothered to gather all the materials to train and use it.
Im thinking of playing this when im bored. Is the game still as grindy as it was when I played it a in 2008?
Yes. But it's fun though!
[editline]16th February 2014[/editline]
Really RuneScape is just something to run in the background while you do stuff.
Pack Yak is the best thing you can get for your account. Steel/Iron titans didn't really get updated with EoC, I hope when Legacy comes out I can start 1 hitting kids with my Steel Titan.
Hm, in 10 and a half years I'm able to play finally!
