I've literally never used summoning for anything except for when quests require it and I've done just fine almost every summon creature except the ones he mentioned are useless and rarely used by anyone, and the few handy ones are only available at high levels. collecting charms is annoying and takes ages and buying the rest of the ingredients and shards costs an absolutely retarded amount of cash. the skill exists just to be a money sink and always seemed really out of place in runescape lore to me

Combine that with things like Herbicide, Bonecrusher, Demonhorn Necklace (all from dung), and eventually the Seedicide (from Marimbo v Brassica event/minigame), you'll literally wont have to be that bothered about slayer task drops since only the good stuff would remain, you could even hoard the charms if you want, but because of the charm converter, there's less of a reason not to pick them up now. Have to agree with summoning being a bit useless now, only the BoBs and teleporters being remotely great, it's over-centralized to either Unicorn Stallion, Yak or Steel Titans now, also they're adding the Divine Muspah familiar with the Charm Converter/Divine Impling/Chronicle/Elder Energy update. it literally fills up and deposits the divination energy without more effort apparently. (and if you're not much of a mood, it can also forage energy with scrolls....hopefully it doesn't crappily drop the energies around it like a Spider, but rather spawns them inside the BoB inventory like a Rat. seriously dropped energy is tiny to click) I just wish the Muspah acted as a Porter, only for Divination spot items, that way you don't have to lose ticks depositing ores in coal bag or bank, or spend hundreds of hours at fish flingers. it would make the Muspah more of a useful thing than just being Div-only. The sound of the Divine Simulacrum sounds bad....energy is varied, Signs are bad...unless it creates entirely new signs/porter types to make it look lucrative. (they did mention additions upto 99 div...hopefully there's other things with it...)

Easily under 300m if you collect charms from Waterfiends/Slayer/Glacors and do the cheaper pouches. People always say it's so expensive, but that's the retards you find doing the best pouches for their levels. A good example is the Geyser Titan. It requires a Blue Charms and you loose 10K GP/pouch, but if you do something like Moss Titan which is around 10% less XP then Geyser Titan suddenly you loose around 3K GP/pouch. If you're willing to collect a bit more charms then normal you're gonna save so much money in the long run. If you want to do anything except quest and cut ivy you will need summoning in one way or another.
when did 300 million coins stop being expensive?
When you complete daemonheim task sets 1-3 you get access to Daemonheim Peninsula resource dungeon ( + extension of the dungeon), which has mapples, willows and yews and a deposit box on right next of them. http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Daemonheim_Peninsula_resource_dungeon Also: What makes that amusing is, that i got all 4 whips from one 238 abyssal demons - task. (whip's drop rate being 1/1024) Finally, the target guy shares my feelings after failing the ranged section in circus miserably after the circus update.
too bad whips are like 100k [editline]30th March 2014[/editline]
Summoning is annoying to train, though.
not really, if you're doing combat its just another drop to pick up and with the advent of the bank at taverly its pretty quick before you can use the spirit kyatt
It seems as though you're forgetting that it's not until high level Dungeoneering where you actually earn enough tokens to buy the rewards.
But i somehow got bored of Dungeoneering (or just plain dislike it) to the extent that all i initially got was the gem/coal bags and the skilling scrolls...with 34k or so points remaining. i even avoided sinkholes for years until recently, sure i got levels from Tears, but it's probably at least long after reaching floor 30 something...and im 99 now.. Splurged on Herbicide/Bonecrusher/Demonhorn/Charming imp a few weeks/a month ago, and now i have about 340k tokens. i could get a Chaotic now, or i could hoard it for the Dungeoneering reward update in Mat or so. Sinkholes is a pretty casual but fastish method of getting tokens without much effort, even at 2 matches a day, it's nice. Might try to do Dungeoneering diary sometime, but i haven't got that far and my binds are grossly old.

Is the FP clan still a thing? If so, who should I PM about getting an invite? Only asking because I don't know if the stuff in the OP is up to date.

Only asking because I don't know if the stuff in the OP is up to date.
nobody here now has really been sharing their usernames and I'm not sure about how frequently everyone here is online so I don't know if a clan would work out or not but if you guys want to try again, join the clan chat I just set up using "Salty Paenut"
I'm Scrub_down, I'll join ya for a bit
We tried a clan and it didn't work. People come and go from Runescape frequently and not many people stick around long term. Do it if you want to have a clan with 2-3 active members.

So, I assume that in a PvP world, you can fight anyone anywhere. Is that right or wrong?
So, I assume that in a PvP world, you can fight anyone anywhere. Is that right or wrong?
correct, but there are a few safe zones, most, if not all of them being all banks in the game
