Am I the only one in here, who rushes quests with walkthrough and gives a nonexisting shit about the lore? Does that make me an ass?
8 Ball says: Yes.
I rush through 99% of the quests
[sp]Zanik killed him in The Chosen Commander[/sp], so whats the problem?
[sp]i don't remember that, i'm pretty sure he escaped and was killed in the lumbridge sinkhole thing after guthix died or w/e[/sp]
[sp]i don't remember that, i'm pretty sure he escaped and was killed in the lumbridge sinkhole thing after guthix died or w/e[/sp]
[sp]Sigmund tried to use a Ring of Life to save himself but Zanik possessed by Bandos cut his hand off before it could activate and stabbed him.[/sp]
Am I the only one who just looks up a quest guide and rush through quests ASAP to get to the next one? Runescape lore has never intrigued me, it's a pile of garbage compared to other fiction out there.

I rush through 99% of the quests
you chumps are missing out on Jagex's fantastic writing
you chumps are missing out on Jagex's fantastic writing
I slow down on the good big quests and ones that have to do with gods and such, I enjoy the god and mythical creature aspect, but I could give a shit less about some goy wanting me to capture some sick sheep
[sp]i don't remember that, i'm pretty sure he escaped and was killed in the lumbridge sinkhole thing after guthix died or w/e[/sp]
What the hell you are talking about?
you chumps are missing out on Jagex's fantastic writing
The lore was OK at first, I liked the god aspect and I thought it was pretty cool. But after a while they just over complicated it with more gods, the Elder Dragons and then the Mahjarrat coming to Gielinor or whatever that was. I enjoyed quests like WGS and ROTM but now Guthix is dead and I don't know what the fuck is really going on. If I want a good, solid story I'll just go and read a good book. Only chumps bother with a sub-par story like Runescape.
it's sub-par because you can't be bothered to pay attention to what's going on? lol okay
If I want a good, solid story I'll just go and read a good book.
You can actually read? I'm highly impressed.
I think a problem with Older Runescape was that the game's plot progressively became more inter-connected. before ROTM, there was just vague references of an overarching Myth Arc that hasn't really turned to head until around WGS, eventually capping off at Ritual of the Mahjarrat, however it wasn't just Mahjarrat related since there's also Blood Runs Deep's prophecies about the End of all Things. Post-Mahjarrat though, the gods coming back kinda moves most remaining plots onto their heads: major players being the Vampyre series' God Conspirators who was planning to break the edicts of Guthix...and the Elf Series' Dark Lord, who recently was mentioned to be a major god....despite all the gods being accounted for, barring ones that makes no sense (Tuska), outside the general theme (Desert Pantheon, Elidinis, Fremminik God, Karamja God and the theorized Pirate God) or dead (Bandos, Guthix, Loarnab, "Booze God"*, Skargaroth and Jododu Otoku). Though on the good side of things, the gods coming back removed most of the issues in any series ending, and the world gate being unlocked means that quests could be released in any sort of order as the plot/players demands and could be much more exotic...however they risk of exploring new worlds that could potentially just be glorified passageways with only a few teleports/dungeon entrances to give it the appearance of being larger....with that said, it's great that they gave some backstory on Freneskae/Zaros/[sp]Mah[/sp] and Yu'Biusk/Bandos/His Backstory, they even have a few quests reward people with more things if they did the "endgame" end of pre-sixth age quests like Fate of the Gods unlocking a World Gate teleport to the Sixth-Age circuit which itself is awarded from The World Wakes if you completed Ritual of the Mahjarrat, The Firemaker's Curse, Branches of Darkmeyer, The Void Stares Back, and The Chosen Commander; all of which are major Guthixian "endings", Zarosian or generally God-Like storylines. * = Tentative name for the god who died when he challenged [sp]Marimbo, when she was a monkey[/sp] to a Drinking contest, but died of alcohol poisoning, his followers mentioned to the victor that he was a hedonist god, however drinking from the [sp]elder horn[/sp] might have explained why they acquired intelligence rather than become inherently destructive like other similar [sp]animal[/sp] gods such as Tuska who for all intents and purposes; is a gargantuan Boar planet-raider with god-powers with the intelligence of a boar. Other note, most recent level up with 95 Ranged. I'm at 2562 total for the moment.
Jagex is just fucking up the lore, don't really see the point in even bothering with it at this point. Runescape is all about ripping items of dipshits through any means possible :v:
This game has no future.
You can actually read? I'm highly impressed.
You always this aggressive?
You always this aggressive?
You always this stupid?
This game has no future.
Then don't bloody play it. --- The lore is fantastic. All sort of interconnecting, mysterious people and cultures. I think it's great that Jag have been shedding light on the less known things in the last few quests.
I don't mind the lore really. It's enjoyable.
You always this aggressive?
If you want to get demonstration of aggressiveness, we can arrange that.

Tragic in a way.

Quite honestly, the RuneScape lore surrounding the Gods never interested me, that's typical fantasy nonsense I can get just about anywhere. It was always the lore that surrounded each individual town that caught my attention, and doing the quest series related to them was what made the game awesome. Like the Fremmenik or the Dorgeshuun, or the vampires in Morytania. That's the shit that makes RuneScape, not your average God War mumbo jumbo.

The thing what made runescape was the incdreibly well-crafted lore. The writers were astounding ! This is what makes me play and RPG. The authors had incredible plots and stories, which were very fun and immersive to play on. But now, for whatever reason, we all have our theories, it has come to this, every quest in generally minded, towards a god. There is nothing left to tell, but add re-conned lore, and start this whole ''god this and god that'' Maybe it's nostalgia, I don't know, but I much rather fight the trolls under the bridge than attend to this whole god-debate.
God damn it takes forever to level hunting, even with falconry.
Recently read a book and got interested in the stock market so I thought getting back into RuneScape would be fun. Sold all my equipment, got about 10mil in capital. Let's see how high I can go
Legacy beta is ready it'll be rad as soon as soon as the servers stops being so laggy
Maybe it's nostalgia, I don't know, but I much rather fight the trolls under the bridge than attend to this whole god-debate.
I fight the rats in lumbridge castle.
Then don't bloody play it.
I like how this sentiment is echoed far and wide throughout every single thread in GGD so that no matter which thread you visit there is always an person shitting up the thread hating on the game and someone retorting to not play the game if they don't like it
Had a bit of bonus attack/hp xp stocked up from stars and whatever before the Enlightenment aura came out....one abyssal demon task nailed about 400k attack xp and 100k HP xp, it just felt awesome just seeing those gems drop like catnip, i even had a few hundred charges on my mask left over from slayer weekend, double dragonstone drop? neat! Only 31k until 96 attack, still need to get range xp a bit faster other than just pengs/trolls/Jots...
range is like 500k xp/h now, why not just train it?
range is like 500k xp/h now, why not just train it?
Have no idea where about though, i don't have chaotic in range, i'd probably want to fight something that isn't dangerous, but are essentially money spiders. range just feels more clunky than Melee with revolution.
I'm trying to get back into this game. I used to play it every day as a kid, I had a firemaking cape and everything. I'm trying the new version, and I don't know what to do; I've been doing the quests I can do, but I'm struggling to stay interested
