Probably, you should change your password on another machine whilst your main machine virus checks, assuming it's done anything like that.
did some googling up on runescape to see whats been updated. apparently chaotics are worthless now. looks like they've one upped their weapons yet again, jesus christ
i think i'd be better served by a game like guild wars 2 or something else anyways

Oh no they released new weapons ;_; Why cant it be like back in early 2001 when it was just adamant weapons rune is OP and broken, now addy is worthless ;_;
Chaotics were the best weapons for 3 years and are still immensely popular because they're free and still -extremely- relevant. You can go kill high level bosses like the QBD and KK with chaotics easily. Most players still use chaotics and GWD set for slayer.

itd be fantastic if instead of just releasing increasingly stronger weapons and armor they would release things with different strengths
im clearly not the target audience for this game, also your sass is uncalled for

Its an argument I see all the time. "Wow the whip sucks/has gone down in value now game is shit now" is just stupid. It's an mmo - new content is added so you have more stuff to do. A rune scim wont carry you through barrows so you get an abby whip. The abyssal whip wont let you do QBD, so you get yourself a chaotic. The chaotic wont let you do Vorago (one year old boss that drops t90 gear) so you get a drygore set.
For an MMO RS has dealt with power creep immensely well. The bandos set is 7 years old and t70 gear, yet it is still relevant, despite t80 and t90 coming out. This is because T80 armor degrades until it needs repairing, which costs money, which makes it not economically viable for non-bossing scenarios. The majority of slayer/combat stat training results in a loss of coins if using T80. T90 degrades faster and it degrades to dust - it breaks and is then gone forever. Same principle here, you can only use t90 on high tier monsters or its a waste. While bronze to addy are not relevant at all, dragon, gwd/barrows, nex and t90 are all still relevant despite some of that content being half as old as the game. And as long as things like slayer and comp requirements exist they will always be relevant.
Now look at WoW. Anything not from the current expansion is unusable and irrelevant.

the highest non degradeable items will always be relevant, unless the degradable weapons become so good that they have a better cost time ratio
apparently both chaotic and drygore weapons last about the same time, 10 hours, and both take about the same cost to repair too, correct me if im wrong, you seem to suggest drygore has more of a drawback
i appreciate your answer and i see what you're saying but to me it seems like drygore straight up trumps chaotics, if there was more of a drawback to using drygore id probably be all for em though

No, there is no drawback to drygores other than they cost much more than chaotics and that's money that could be used on other gear. Drygores cost more to repair but they degrade at the same speed.
However specials are coming back monday. Gear like the AGS and d-claws have already risen in price fucktons, and a t75 godsword with a special might arguably trump a t80 no special chaotic even in EoC. Food for thought.
However there are rumors of newer weps getting specials, namely the t90 weapons.

thanks, you've been very helpful
So... Legacy was released today. I'm really enjoying it, I've been PKing all day and it seems to be a hit. Haven't had this much fun in RS for a long time.
Legacy is mega broken. EOC is unplayable if you're doing anything more than slayer.
typical jagex update is typical. gonna wait 6 months till combat is fixed
Ugh I want to keep playing this game but it became boring again, and the bond I used for membership expired. Back to f2p land.
I wish there was a way to use the Legacy combat system with the new interface.
Man, TDS are hilariously easy now. Not like they were very hard before but legacy has made them a complete joke. In the span of around 3 hours I made around 35M(2x Dragon Claws, 2x Dragon Limbs, 1x Platebody piece)
Someone add me, I have like no friends that play RS.

Care to elaborate further? Haven't tried legacy mode yet.
Care to elaborate further? Haven't tried legacy mode yet.
Legacy is really freaking wild. Its even more RNG than pre eoc imho - you either hit massively or not at all.
And to make sure the legacy only people could play high level content they nerfed EOC abilities in general. At the moment, legacy is a bit better for DPS, but attacks slower ofc and each hit then hits harder. People can 1-hit frost dragons right now, which is good if you wanna train prayer I guess.
But yeah, i think rs is finally dead to me. First the pay to win mtx trash like silverhawks, then the constant grabbing to retain the nostalgia audience and their inability to make overhauls that aren't broken. I still believe 2010-2012 were the true golden years of rs, and I think EoC would of been much better received if it wasn't fundamentally broken at launch and sucked up so much dev time away from the things players really wanted. Now legacy is out, which is broken in itself and has broken EoC style combat as well. Legacy development delayed numerous fixes (like the PoP/fremmy cape armor glitches) as well as the spider boss and elf city. But we were promised that Legacy wouldn't affect the core game at all, but it bloody well has.
I'm really enjoying osrs right now, since I finally have a set game plan that I want to tackle.
does that mean you're going to play as filthy pure scum
does that mean you're going to play as filthy pure scum
I think his plan is "reach 99 in all the skills."
In my opinion, it's pretty solid.

Just got a new mole pet on osrs, took me 102 giant mole kills to get. Took me 6-7 hours to get..
I can't imagine fighting that asshole 100 times in a row
holy shit banking so hard off this update, bought dragon claws when they were about 100k each around Christmas, and i bought membership again and come back on today to find out that dragon claws are worth about 4m for both claws

I did the same, bought a pair for around 170K in January and after the announcement of special attacks returning people went wild and I sold my pair for around 7M.
do we have a clan chat?

Not an active one.
Agility is a fun skill
Agility is a fun skill
Throw on a pair of SH Boots and do Slayer.
Maybe in rs3
The prospect of using Silverhawk Boots to train agility is weird, i mean if you're paying something like 20k per feather, that's 259xp per charge at level 70 agility, costing 77.2gp per xp point....if you're really avoiding agility by buying feathers, you may as well pick your teeth with solid gold ferraris.
Plus eventually Prifddinas will come out..in 2 bits, one of the things being an agility lap course which awards small things, summoning a light creature would enable higher chances or something, as well as provide a smaller chance at other courses. basically it would be a bit unwise to grind agility that high unless you're aiming for 99, otherwise you'll grind long past 99 just for the sake of obtaining ingredients and weird stuff like crystal acorns.

Use Silverhawk Boots at 90+. If you have the dosh it's just like another buyable.
At 90+ the cost is 37gp/xp and decreases over time and ends up being 26gp/xp at 98+.
