Range is going to be lame as hell, are Abyssals even doable with crossbows...i barely touched range since EoC even came out..

Range is somewhat viable with Dungeoneering.
I tried doing the Waterfall Quest at level 12.
Died at the first Moss Giant.
egh. Couldn't find anybody to help me either.
Imagine doing it on Day 1 of OSRS with literally 1k+ people doing it with a glitch that let people disconnect others instantly.
First week of OSRS was a fucking blast. Silk, Waterfall, etc etc. Great stuff.

ah, the good ol' days.
I wonder if he ever got a gf [sp]and how much it cost[/sp]
I just dread the journey back to Tree Gnome Village for another pebble, lost the extra 2 on death.
White Wolf Mountains slaughtered me when I first attempted to pass through, so instead I took a ship to Catherby for 1000gp, confident that ''it cant be that hard to run past a few mobs''
Now I'm just cutting wood back in Lumbridge.
I remember going through white wolf mountain back in rsc when combat locked you in place for a few seconds before you were allowed to move
good times
also a good stress test for your creature dodging

You should go to Hellhounds in the Taverly Resource Dungeon. XP rates are around 175-200K per hour with Legacy/Revolution, and semi-afk(You move once every 10min to make them re-aggro).
Ranged works very well against Abyssal Demons, bring a RCB/Dual CCB and you will destroy them. If you're talking about the lower level Abyssal Demons located in the Abyss you can easily kill them with Red Chinchompa and off-hand Xbow, XP rates vary a lot but with the introduction of legacy I believe it's above 250K.

Ranged is great for Dungeoneering. Use a Prometheum/Primal 2h Sword with a Sagittarian shorbow or Hexhunter bow for Mages, speeds up floors a lot.

also did that legacy combat thing start yet?

ya it's been out for a good couple of days now
more like a week
ah, i see. i now have legacy mode enabled
and no fucking weapons with special attacks to use, closest thing i have is this anchor that i need a membership for
just started playing osrs for the first time since ... well before 2007 i guess because there are some new features i don't recognize. been fly fishing at lumbridge for a bit and just selling the trout and salmon to the store across the river.
you should run over the mountain to catherby so you can fish with all the bots
you should run over the mountain to catherby so you can fish with all the bots
Except you can't do fly fishing in catherby, which is by far the fastest way to level fishing until you get 45-50 so you can catch lobsters reliably.
head over to the lake north of seer's village then
Are lobs really worth it? Im at 63 fishing and although lobs make a lot more money, fly fising is still much faster xp. Ive moved to fly fishing at the river by the baxtorian falls or w/e. There is a npc very close who the fish can be sold to fast.

If you're talking about Barbarian fishing, it's the fastest. Lobsters are not worth the GP & XP / hr vs Barbarian Fishing XP / hour.
If you want to make some money, do Swan Song and fish Monkfish. They catch about the same rate as Lobsters, sometimes even faster, better money and around 30-35K XP / hr AFK.

Plus, monkfish will help carry you through basic bossing levels, when you're equipped enough to go hunt the KBD and the Giant Mole, but not wealthy enough for sharks.
buying sharks? psh, i just fish for them. monks as well. then into glorious combat.
Does Facepunch have clans for either old school or the new Runescape? It's been years since I've played and im not sure which version I should hop back into.
no clans for either, there's just not enough of us playing at any one time for a clan to be worthwhile
just try both for a while and see which you prefer
-snip met a great guy who took me out for drinks and bought me a dress-
Against my better judgement I got the double treasure hunter keys for a total of 70 keys.
Ended up with a shit ton of XP.

whenever I log into classic I can never find anybody
i saw some dudes fishing in catherby before
i dunno if they were bots or what

I don't see a lot of a point to bot classic.
the gold is probably worthless and whatnot.
What happened... I mean, I played EoC last year or so, but just logged in today and I was literally overwhelmed by what to do. Just made a new account for the OSRS, might even buy member just to keep playing that.
Edit: Dat screen size... now that I think about it, EoC didn't seem so bad.

Use the orion client, you can resize it to just about any size.
It's far from perfect but at least you won't have a tiny boxy on your screen to play with.

You're better of getting used to a small screen in OSRS.
