So how should I approach this as a new character? Should I train combat skills, or should I train other skills? I've done The Blood Pact quest so far.
try for a balanced approach, imo
train a bit of combat, than go do some relaxing non-combat stuff

One thing I like about RuneScape is that it likes to take jabs at itself occasionally. Like sometimes it just looks at itself during a quest or some dialogue and just goes "Wow that was pretty stupid."

bonds :v:
I actually havent played in a while, but im pretty sure that most logs are pretty damn expensive still, so you can make a lot of bank off of woodcutting. dont know much else, probably best to examine what a skill gives you and see what it'll get you on the ge. (using the wiki)
Need to grind my attack up from 66 to 70 as soon as possible. What should I train on? I'm level 83, 66 attack, 62 defence, 73 strength. Been fighting in TzHaar mostly, but they only give about 400 XP each. Also, what weapons should I use until I get to level 70? Currently using dual dragon longswords, and can kill TzHaar monsters in 3 hits usually.
Edit: Make that level 84 with 67 attack.

just get a good weapon and it's fast as hell you'll be up like 3 ranks within an hour or two. but if you really want I can sell you the stuff
I'm lazy. How much?
the armor plus gloves, boots, and kiteshield cost 9030 from sir vyvin

something i typed in the HLF's small tweaks thread.
Unsure if it's been done, but the game should remember wherever if you have won a Raffle prize variant, so you can recolor your Warpriest/Godsword without them being too much of a "too cool to use" item. have the original item as a Generation 1 item, using it on Diango with the appropriate item would coat the item in gold, resulting in a Generation 2 item.
If people wants to claim more G2 items, they'll have to pay GP+the plain item, killing someone with a G2 item would result in the plain item being dropped, but not the coins, whilst if someone killed someone with a Generation 1 item, the item would turn to coins will not drop the plain sword.
Something just seems iffy with all those potential swords just sitting there, they'll see more use as vanity combat items if people can at least generate more. you could perhaps add the Gold items under the Promotional section on Diango's screen, but have a Gold Pay-Gate behind it, that'll only accept if you have the plain item.
PS: What's with the restrictions on Prizes? having the regular Godswords would let people tune which Golden Sword they'd want to obtain, but Warpriest can't be forced at all. would it make sense for the prizes to by Single Gobs of Godly Metal (Godsword) and 6 Gobs of Godly Armaments as prizes? you could use the Godly Metal on a sword to coat it, or you can use the Armament gobs on a full set of Warpriest?
After that change, change all existing gold Godswords into Generation 2 items. then all future gobs will replace the Godsword prize, there may be a tiny issue about a secondary purchase of a real Godsword before they can get their own gold weapon, but the current system of the Gold Sword dropping the Plain Godsword itself would be a more fair compromise for the economy.
So basically
• Original Gold Godsword/Warpriest: retire, replace with..
• Gobs of Godly Metal/Armaments
• Existing gold items doesn't drop raw items. can be shown to Diango to "teach".
• Diango can remove melt down Generation 1 Gold items and reforge into another plain Godsword without a GP fee.
• Warpriest may have no issue, but players should be free to either convert a G1 Gold Warpriest into a Generation 2 Warpriest that they'd rather have. this triggers the unlock for the new armor.
• After that, all gobs has to have the physical item for Warpriest and Godsword.
It might be a triggery snarl to smooth out, but i think the playerbase can handle it.
In short, the problem with the event is that besides the large amount of potential GP leaking out, there's also raw Godswords people might purposely kill each over for. if they moved the GP value to Diango by changing the old swords/Warpriest gold sets into Gold Gobs, then players can unlock the coating options they actually want. this way they're more promotional than "Too Cool to Use" as i put it.

heavy 2-handed swords are often very blunt and used more for crushing rather than slicing
Yeah Zanaris was retconned into a moon.
Also what to do as F2P now, because now I'm killing lesser demons in Karamja and low-alching black stuff they drop.

Infernal Realms isn't actually a realm, it's something that humans supposedly came up with to explain the religious connotations of demons, but supposedly the current demons were actually a slave race to an even older order/species of demon, of which basics such as contracts, language, culture and law originated. the realm is a planet called Infernus, and Zaros presumably proliferated the language and culture to other races such as the Vampyres, which was said to have been a pack-hunter race who simply was inefficient with their gathering.
Zanaris? some reason it's Gielinor's Moon, and apparently it's originally supposed to be using energy from the Portal of Life to fuel the Fairy Ring Network from before the God Wars, but Guthix himself mentioned that the Fairies were actually exploring the metaverse before he presumably could create such a gate. (indirect evidence being that Elves were in the realm before Humans, so Fairies presumably was navigating the universe before Guthix mass imported races. possibly after he found the Stone of Jas). Yu'Biusk itself is kinda unknown as to where it actually relates in the solar system of Runescape, or if prospects such as a Universal Revision means there's a single Universe, or if there's simply multiple solar systems.
Seems like from the sounds of Runescape's universe, it takes a scientific approach with Solar systems, like Kethsi neighbors Abbinah, that even Armadyl saw/heard the Kethsians got slaughtered first hand by the Dragonkin. Zanaris is the Moon, there's logically a sun and perhaps Scaperune if it's still canon. but then there's fantasy aspects such as Zaros calling realms such as Lower, Higher and Outer realms. the major mystery being the Outer Realms may be solely populated by god-tier Elementals, and how exactly does Terragard even fits in terms of a timeline. Vampyrium is definitely somewhat close enougth to Infernus and possibly Frenneskae that Zaros could float there..
The largest Globe furnishing in Runescape shows a complicated solar system there's a planet rotating around a sun but has 2 moons, which revolves around a mega planet where a Moon only encircles the top of it's planet. there's enough planets (presumably 4, if not counting the Sun.) for the Mahjarrat to consider Gielinor to have a Syzygy every 500 years.
If the Elemental Planes in the outer realms could be taken seriously, i could at least see Abbinah being to the "left" being an Air-elemental plane where there's little ground and water, Yu'Biusk is probably "Right" near the Earth/Water sections, all near the inner fringes though, but not far enough for regular god-elementals to be commonplace.
I really aught to hop back onto RS3 one day and finish the requirements for the Zaros quest cuz I've managed to avoid all the plot regarding it since release

It's a good one. Dem rewards, too
It's a good one. Dem rewards, too
the ability to divine and create simulacrums may be a bit bad as a reward due to Porter odds being nerfed and the 3x xp/energy* was removed due to the Early Bird bonus running out. think there's at least Nihil/Muspah familiars (unless component parts are tradable?). the Shard of Zaros is pretty amazing for a pocket Slot item as it grants immunity to all GWD monsters. there's even the World Gate teleport if you have the Sixth-Age Circuit from TWW which is nice.
Mahjarrat Memories and the things leading up to Fate of the Gods is one of the most recent cases of worldbuilding the game has had, even afterward there's cryptic lore from Elder Chronicles. though they might not matter much.
* Seriously, when Mahjarrat Memories came out, everyone was gourged on experience from: Rebuildathon, World Event 2, XP promotions and whatever. so by the time the miniquest was released, people just went "fuck it" and went to one of the lesser Divination areas just for the sake of obtaining memories much easier. wasn't until they added Simulacrums sometime/a month+ after Fate of the Gods that suddenly the high level Desert spot had energy you'd actually use; at least those energy bits could be used to make Rocktail bubbles.
even worse, even i was level 9X when it was released, the xp was so high that i had to refrain from training divination until after doing FOTG just to get a decent screenshot which i probably posted in the thread months ago. the point is, that people likes Simulacrums because it enables them to Slactivize Divination....but Divination is so passive as a skill anyway, that they should rather use their daily spot for something like rocktails, or herbs.
Bunch of Max Guild piccies from Mod Stacey's (?) Twitter, the 3rd picture seems like a ratings stunt, just to attract more likes/follows.

As a f2p player, what would be the best skill to train for money?

Buy membership. It's not worth wasting time in F2P.
