Start with collecting berries and after a while when you feel that you can enough dosh move over to tanning Green d'hide. Your main goal will be to collect money for some gear(Rune/Barrows) and a weapon(Dragon/Whip) and work on your stats. When you have some good gear you can start killing Dragons which will give you a good amount of gold and xp. There's no real simple answer what to do. I haven't played Runescape in ages and apparently you can download it now? Is downloading worth my time or should I just play in my browser?

you don't download the actual game you just download a client so you don't need to play in a browser if you aren't playing in a client you're doing it all wrong
