So I played Runescape all my childhood, and want to start again, should I play the new runescape, or the old one?

Probably the old one
You can't play the new one unless you dropped all of your previous knowledge of the game

I'm playing with the legazy option on and the UI looks like it used to before the update and it's very nice.
Gave me back the special attack and the micro bar and removed the combat abilities.
It's awesome.

The new one is fine, I really recommend it. It takes very little time to understand unless you are an idiot beyond compare. Furthermore it is unplagued by the many problems the old one has, in both gameplay and especially community. I got back in December last year after having quit in 2009 and I was blown away by the many improvements.

okay so the evolution of combat system was undeniably a pile of shit and the release of legacy mode was the best thing to happen to the game in a long time, so if you do play the new game you should switch to legacy and never look back
unfortunately it doesn't save the new game from being horrendously casualized and stuffed to the brim with dead content. it's up to your preference basically
It'sa deleted after 3 month if you don't read it.
I should mention it's like this for 4 years now. I think it could have been about membership not being renewed or something.
That being said, should I go member for a month to complete new quests?
Wait, how can armor be fun? Are simple designs fun?
Oops, I read your post wrong. I thought we were talking about gameplay. However, I don't really like the new armor or much of the new art style either; I'd prefer something that's a little less "bright" if that makes sense, as the reason I liked the older Ultima Underworld-ish art style wasn't because it was simple but because it had a certain mood to it.

You can spec in EOC.
IMHO most the improvements the EoC update brought about could have been added without the core of the WoW elements and without a lot of the ways they made it worse/dumbed down/annoying. Dual wielding, magic abilities, cheaper spells, different weapon classes seeing use.
the game needed a CB rework and EoC was certainly half baked. Most are still sour from its abysmally buggy release and even now its just... eh.
then again, how else could you improve the combat? Its better than legacy IMHO but nearly everything is better than 1 click combat
I wish I could have legacy combat with the new UI.
I wish I could have eoc combat with the old ui
What is "Cabbage Facepunch Bonanza" ???
Came up as a minigame in Runescape, did someone here help make it or something?
it's a minigame about cabbages and actual faces being punched
I wish I could have legacy combat with the new UI.
Don't they have that Revolution style? I use the one where I just click bad guys and get bonus damage for not using abilities.
Whats the go to equipment for all combat styles at levels 70 (combat level 99) now? Not sure if I should go barrows
Tip about vis wax. supposedly you can just reroll tasks for 10 wax, rather than use 20 to double the length/reward of one. apparantly it MIGHT consider what skills you blocked. so if you're letting skills stack up, it's probably better for your money to just do something like dung, double that, but everything else gets rerolled after locking....or something.
Unsure how HLF is talking about it.
EDIT: Not my images.

So you're saying get a fuckton of the same task?
So you're saying get a fuckton of the same task?
Pretty much. unsure what the guy was even saying. unsure wherever if he means that the game doesn't take into account that doubling a task should only affect that task but not for a whole day for a single skill. or wherever its a bug. i wouldn't think Jagex would test the update with maxed players in mind since they can tune the most tasks out of anyone. he got like 1m in 16 minutes at 120.

Barrows if you're doing something you don't particularly want to drag out. Granite Platebody and Dragon Everything Else if you're doing something you definitely don't want to die during.
Well I threw 9 tickets into the raffle today. Here's praying I get what I'm after.
Also I just sold 7k sharks. Getting my fishing up has been the smartest thing I've done yet.
EDIT: I got a gold Zammy Godsword tonight. Woooooooooooo!
Well I'm convinced Jagex is running out of space in the world. Every new/renewed content I encountered thus far is out of scale with the rest of runescape.
Daemonheim - a tumor out of wilderness
Wizards tower - a tower is suddenly as big as Lumbridge (also retconned)
Black Knight's castle - first on the edge of a mountain, now as big as the mountain and bulging into wilderness
Ashdale - averted to an extent because throwback to tutorial island.
Bottany bay - again, an uneccessary big island.

this is what happens when you let new people take over.
this is what happens when you let new people take over.
The only solution is to scale everything up to a similar extent.

Yeah a lot of new areas are very large. There has been a LOT of talk about scaling up the over world with players, and honestly I think it'd be good because lodestones make transportation makes shit ez as fuk.
Buuut IRRC jaggy said it'd be too difficult for any gain and tbh i agree.
Also look at feldip plains, the gnome/elf areas, etc. Nearly nothing, while a place like burthorpe/taverly are such a clusterfuck of shit that they're basically the same settlement.
Just hit 81 cooking, what should I start cooking for good XP? Did a test on Shark out of curiosity, and burned 26/100.

Monkfish until you can reliably cook sharks without burning.
