Runescape V8 - I don't know, I just wanted a runescape thread that wasn't about the 2007 version

anyone seen the prices of Silverhawk Feathers? ever since Vic came out, there's probably an explosion of new Boot users, now instead of Feathers being 20k street, they're now 49.1k GE price. also thought of a new dragonkin theory....
Frenneskae was the Dragonkin's original realm/planet, how? well Dragon Implings and Fairies somehow obtains Dragon weaponry from there, Frenneskae technically didn't become the homeworld of the Mahjarrat until Mah created them. the Dragonkin presumably attempted a mass exodus into the Abyss shortly before the previous cycle of elder gods drained the world of its Anima Mundi. fast forwards to the 2nd age, V actually USES the stone to ascend somewhat from a Nethanderthal into a magically-attuned Human, forming the magical Progeny of the Fremminik who eventually became the Lunar Clan.
Using the Stone, presumably Guthix came and hid the stone from the Lunar Mines before actually sleeping. unknowing to Guthix, it presumably caused the Dragonkin to jump from wherever they were the last time a false user used the stone, and somewhere on Runescape. shortly the 2nd age was close to an end and the Gods started to flow in. on the Fremminik side of things, they were struck by an amphibious race of shark-like creatures known as the Dagannoth early in the 3rd age. they may have been mutations of Cave Crawlers augmented by Kerapac in the attempt to breed out Jas' curse. Wherever if they were unleashed onto Acheron was either due to abandonment or as an experiment to see how they'll adapt.
The Queen Black Dragon was created first (this noted that they were "water lizard" eggs), eventually another Dragonkin stole the research and made his own derivative, which created the King Black Dragon, Kerapac eventually bred those 2 together to create actual Dragons...though they were bestial, most were just left to their own devices, notably it was noted that the KBD was let out into Thorinthry...which is the old-age Wilderness.
Theories of genetics
• Bane Ammo can be tuned to Dagannoth, Dragons, Abyssal Demons, Wallasalkis and Basilisks.
- Dragons are self-explainable, the spell was created by the Kethsians, presumably from one they miraculously killed, or remains gathered from Dragons.
- Abyssal Demons could be explained by the fact that the ones we fight came specifically from the Abyss, surely the Dragonkin had some infighting to leave a cache of remains for the Cthlonian demons to assimilate into their flesh.
- Wallasalkis are wonky, however the Balmung works against them, alluding that they're somewhat related to Dagannoth, however the weapon was made and enchanted by Kharshai.
- Basilisks are the missing link. unless Basilisks are the elder form of Cave Crawlers, provided they live long enougth?
Power theory
• Being magically-imbued with Dragonkin essence may have augmented their offspring to some degree.
- Jas is the Elder God of time, and thus may have given them (the Dragonkin) spatially-linked abilities, only to make them useful as Protectors of the Stone (teleportation, pain across their whole species). to the actual dragons themselves, this is exhibited by the ability to teleport-straddle without the assistance of actual Runes. only White Dragons shows a willing capability for this, however they have to have a Dragon Rider mindmelded to them to gather coordinates.
- Teleportation was alluded to with Dagannoth Prime who was "rumored to fly on the North winds.".
- the Mindmelding abilities are exhibited via different ways, White Dragons mentally meld with Dragon Riders. however Dagannoths meld via Dreams, which is how the first Dagannoth mother got under the basement and killed the old Lighthouse Keeper. this almost happened to the current Lighthouse Keeper when the second mother tried to lull him to her from Waterbirth Isle. the Dream aspect may be manipulated by the player during One of a Kind when they collected pain-memories with Divination.
- Echoes. Jas could have added faint echoes of her being into the Dragonkin. the Dagannoth may utilize this ability for Dreamwalking and species-wide adaption via the matriarchs of the species.
Dagannoth geneology is simple, it started off with Dagannoth Rex, who then spawned Supreme then Prime. Rex presumably was the Daganoth who started the blood fued with the Fremminik, it presumably lost due to low numbers and the fact that it was Melee-Based. Supreme was created to deal with Melee fighters but lost to the Bukalla; an obscure island Tribe of either magic or ranged users (fanon), eventually Prime was created with Magic in mind and killed them all. (explaining why it drops Seercull bows)
If it's TLDR. did a little image.

I hope they add non-th methods to obtain SH feathers. I got 2K feathers but I don't want to use them until 2x xp weekend because of the ridiculous price.

SH should have been obtainable ingame from the start, but never will because they net jagex too many shekels.
Even with double xp I'm still dreading to train agility... Why is this skill so slow it makes me sad
There need to be a better way to train it pre elf city.
Grinding up to level 75 is total bs

Doesn't take longer then 30 hrs to get 75 from 1.

How long would you say it would take from 53 to 75 on double xp? lol

Just do Wilderness agility course. You can get 75-100K xp/hr during 2x xp weekend.
TBH agility at that level would probably be a waste of the bxp weekend.
Best use (imho) is summoning, since it cuts charm collection in half.
No actually I much rather get bxp with agility then summoning since you get loads of charms just killing things but agility is a huge bother to train so cutting the effort needed in half is a no brainer.

"New Runescape game"
I hope it's a new, improved version of RS3 in a new DL client :v:

Unless you're going for 120/200M Summoning. Cutting the Crimson requirement from 200K to 100K is huge.

Ah yes the Wilderness Course. Fantastic place to level up when you're not getting gang raped by PK clans who are world hopping and PKers who disguise themselves as agility trainers.

It's easy to dodge them. If you don't manage to log before they attack you, try to get to the entrance(The walkway) and keep going up/down until either you or them fall off it. Then you can run and log safely. Same works for the ladder but can be a bit tricky.
Wilderness course is so much fun. I managed to PK full Dharoks there 3 years ago while training :v:

Current HTML5 and Java Runescape is so shit. Java looks like shit and HTML5 runs like shit. I'm glad that they're implementing this new client :v:

They're making a dedicated client?

Think it was called Runescape NXT, it might be made in C++ or something. when i saw the shadowed logo, i thought it was slightly like the Godless symbol with devil horns or something. FTFY.
EDIT: Seems like it was just a Collectible Card game called Runescape Legends...wow..guess after Blizzard went into the MOBA business with an actual game they themselves made (Heroes of the Storm) rather than something that a mapmaker made (DOTA), Jagex must've thought they should get a piece of the CCG pie before other developers runs to it like how MOBAs got congested before they could push Transformers Universe out the door and get those Hasbrobucks after calling it a MOTA. 200th quest is an alternate universe quest. also Tuska might be the next god involved in a world event.

inside her, there's a portal.

Guessing she's probably some sort of Earth-Elemental god of somesort, rather than an actual Boar, or maybe she just became elemental-like, ala Deathwing.

They confirmed that Tuska is the focus of the next world event. With solo and group content. Spines on her back acts like a portal.

Yes, they're using the HTML5 as a backbone afaik. From the comparison they made it looks stunning.

Ian Gower one of the founders of runescape joined the osrs team as the engine dev. Also chris archie joined too as video journalist.
Oldschool is starting to have a bright future.

With the updates that has come out in the past ~6-10 months has already cemented OSRS future. But I'm glad they're expanding the OSRS staff team, it's nothing but good news.
I'd kill for old school gameplay with the new visuals.
so when does this ironman thing come into play? i'm intrigued by it.
I'd kill for old school gameplay with the new visuals.
They're working on fixed and fullscreen version that doesn't look like shit afaik.
so when does this ironman thing come into play? i'm intrigued by it.
Like 20 hours ago.
I love OSRS so much, I hope they do something to the elven city, though.
I'm intrigued by the upcoming 200th quest. The idea of revisiting old quests in a twisted and warped version of a major in game city sounds like fun. I've always enjoyed things that have a twilight-zone sort of feel to them, I just hope we don't need 6 different skills to be level 90 to partake in it.
