Runescape V8 - I don't know, I just wanted a runescape thread that wasn't about the 2007 version

I don't want to lose my skills or accomplishments, especially since I play for the story. Although, I admit...I miss the days of 1mil meaning one was rich, not 1bil.
For anyone having trouble with the puzzle boxes I found this great program that solves them. You just set it up to be a 5x5 puzzle and click where each puzzle piece is on the square starting from 1 and going to 24 and it solves it for you, goes step by step on which ones to move.
Jagex should just add an efficient money sink and a good alternative to high alching. It would fix a lot of problems with the current economy.
Apparently one of the two new skills this year is going to have a money sink aspect, in addition to the gathering aspect. One is due before May 21, so expect it sometime in August, and then don't expect to see the second one until next January.
What do you mean 'money sink'?

Something which you blow tons of money on to advance in.
like construction pretty much
I don't understand how the 2007 Runescape version is concidered as retro. When I didn't know the year and just heard people talking about a retro Runescape server I was excited to actually play the first 2.5D version again.
Other than that I had a great time playing for two months in the beginning of the year. Made a new character used the free month discount and the free week (or two, i don't remember) and it was indeed quite fun. It has such a heavy emphasis on grinding and questing - lucky those two parts are well made.
I'm not sure what to kill to train melee stats anymore, kinda just been killing yaks because the rate at which you kill them is fast and the xp/kill is decent, but its still slow as shit. Anyone have any recommendations as to what's good for training melee shit on?
Also when did they make chaotics 200k points? While in f2p it took me about a week to get a gravite staff at 40k (on and off playing), so I thought fuck it I'll go for a chaotic, but now they're expensive. Is it worth it to just get the offhand chaotics and use them with whatever other weapon that I can afford to use?

They still open up Classic every now and then.

Video showing a bit of the beta. Apparently they're trying out HTML5.
I'm actually really excited to see how RS3 turns out, I'm not a big fan of the "newest" style runescape anyways, so I'm not sure if this will hurt, might make it better.
Are they going to be making more changes on Armour and stuff like that? I know they are changing the UI and stuff like that, just not too sure about the others.
we already knew they were using HTML5 but god damn that is sexy
Yeah, I'm pretty impressed with the beta thus far. It really does make the game feel bigger and more expansive.
I think Highest draw distance is a bit excessive yet, though. Medium does a pretty good job at not making the world feel too tiny, while still giving you a much larger view than you had previously. I think Medium and High are a happy medium for immersion, but Highest does make the world feel a considerable bit smaller.
Also, the client runs within playable parameters (30fps, 200 ping) on Medium.
On Interfaces, that's another awesome thing. It's almost entirely reconfigurable, so you can set up any sort of interface you want.
My god, configurable interface would make me so happy
I like how I can get 60fps on Planetside 2 with max settings but nowhere near that on the RS3 beta
Oh well I might as well wait until they've optimised it a bit

It's pretty cool.
You know you can scale the 3D world to only render in that square in the middle?
Sold a bunch of this starlight ore shit for 500k and 1.2m worth of weapon poison. Then I remembered there pretty much no use for weapon poison anymore...
I can't find the starlight ore, where do you mine it? I know you can get it from the spinny thingy (already got some blueprints) but I want to mine some of it.

Just do a bunch of normal mining, you'll get some.
How much does it sell for?
How much does it sell for?
About 1k per single ore, or more even but that's a price that people will usually buy it at.

That much??
I got 4m worth of it after a few spins if that's the case

Ooh huge xp lamp, what should I use it on?

Farming
I used it prayer after since it's so expensive to train
Btw, what's that orange armour that looks like melee dungeoneering armour but is worn outside of dungeoneering?
I see people wearing all sorts of wacky garments I've yet to learn about so beats me
A lot of new garments that you see are from sillyman's store or rewards from sof or that one guy in burthrope.
Also got muted for selling juju water vials as bongs haha. They're really strict with the "no recreational drug discussion" aspect of the rules.
Starlight ore prices are dropping too, unless you find people who really want them. Probably go for 400-550 gp / ore. Still not a bad price though.
Found them to even be going down to 200-350gp now on trade worlds. I was lucky to sell like 2k of it for 750gp to a guy who was buying at that price.
I only managed to sell mine yesterday for just over 400 each. Still got 2m out of them though which isn't too bad
The weapons that you make with them are crappy, unfortunately people started realizing that.
Also the detonate ability is fantastic for training mage, as long as you don't mind spending the money for runes. Using it with the polypore staff at bandits got me at least 160k+ xp an hour, definitely not going to waste time alching anymore.
