To be honest, the sole reason I'd get back into it WOULD be for Nostalgia.

And I went with that.
Currently mining copper and tin until my back breaks in the mines near Barbarian Village.

Also, this game is perfect to keep on a second monitor during work because it's such a grindfest. You click once, do work, click once, do work - repeat ad infinitum.

hit up the new motheload mine beneath falador once you get to 30 mining if you want to get lots of mining levels and ore quickly

make sure you check the oldschool main page a lot because they update and poll stuff quite often

your 1-50's are all easily doable within a day if you're just focusing on one skill at a time

Gave up mining for now and got my way from combat level 5 to combat level 21 through a few hours of grinding cows and goblins. Once I hit 25 (or 25 atk / 25 str / 20 def) I'm gonna move up to the wizards outside Varrock and kill those until I hit 30. Then I'll start doing town guards. Maybe a quest or two.

Also I am very consistently reminded of why I hate random events. Did they up the frequency on them? I don't remember them showing up as often as they do here.

a few months ago they made it so random events no longer kidnap you, so you can just ignore those if you really want to

I do them anyway because you get most of your cut and uncut gems from them

I logged in last time like a year ago and was reminded that I've been perma-muted since like 2005 or something. I think I tried emailing them asking for an un-mute explaining that in 2005 I was 10 years old and at the time of mailing I was 18, so I'd pretty much matured hell of a lot since then. They told me no-can-do. Which was kinda shitty of them.
