Although I like the new runescape, the shitty easily manipulated economy that the new owners brought in(Who the fuck decided to put a rare prize of 200M on something you can buy as many tickets as you want for,) really makes me want to play old school a lot more. I just can't stand to lose the hard work I invested in my character all the way back then when I was younger. If only there was a way to import your character's stats into the oldRS system.
200m gp is nothing, and the likelihood of receiving it is so small it might as well be non-existent. You'd have to buy so many keys, you'd probably end up spending 200m in real life money.
consider glasses
I do wear glasses, I haven't replaced them in 5 years.
Hiscores are nothing to be proud of and are not last competitive avenue for Runescape which is precisely what PVP could certainly be. As far as "hurting" the game goes, the worst I could see this PVP mode could do is lower the demand for PVP supplies, woe is RS, some prices will drop. If anything, they could turn it into a gold sink if they do the following; Each character is usable until death, each costs their combat level*10,000. A maxed character for instance would cost 1,380,000. Each kill gives you 1/10th of its gold back. Boom gold sink.
PVP in Runescape 3 has been a joke since the introduction of EOC. It's dying and Jagex is trying to breathe new life in to a feature of the game which serves no real purpose anymore. The same thing is slowly happening in OSRS aswell with the increase of incredibly powerful and cheap weapons. The last thing Runescape 3 needs is a gold sink, we need item sinks. A PVP system where you pay to essentially "borrow" a higher leveled character would not even start to put a dent in the problems that exist in the current games economy, it's also something that wouldn't be used. Hiscores IS the last competitive aspect of Runescape 3, and the same is slowly happening with OSRS. Maybe it's not very competitive at the low end but for the small minority of player who are maxed and beyond, it really is.
"Jagex introduced the Evolution of Combat for many reasons, some of which were: - To balance out the combat triangle. Previously, melee was much more powerful in most cases when compared to Ranged and Magic[" The sad irony of this is, that melee is still the only actually usable combat method in dungeoneering. Magic and ranged are just a joke, regardless of the equipment, spells and abilities. And yes, i have level 99 weaponry in all 3 styles. The only enemies i bother to use ranged or magic anymore on, are necrolord and Yk'Lagor the Thunderous.
they never really balancing out dung after eoc got released or before it really
Dungeoneering is imbalanced when it comes to combat. I rarely use anything part from my 2h Sword. But outside Dungeoneering combat is far more balanced than prior to the introduction of EoC. It's no longer Chaotic rapier scape.
Just got back into this, tried 2007 scape for the first time and I loved every bit of it!! Made a new character, Huge Mclift, a scotsman strength pure and nothing else. Tried to log onto my old main and apparently it was banned for macroing. Made an appeal, really hope it gets unbanned.
My surprise when I find Drygores worth a third of what I paid for them when I first bought them. I'm not even upset.

Can someone explain how bonds are going to work in osrs?
I should finish my 43k maple logs in my bank, enough to reach 99 firemaking but it takes forever :suicide:
don't do it man firemaking is the aldi brand skillcape
don't do it man firemaking is the aldi brand skillcape
It's also a pretty dank skillcape. Already got my 99 cooking 1 week into 07 back when that started, should get the 99 firemaking in Runescape 3 just to have at least one cape in each :v:
Can someone explain how bonds are going to work in osrs?
Exactly like they do in RS3, except you can't redeem Runecoins/Keys.
Is getting back into Runescape worth it? I lost my account and am only really interested in playing the quests all over again since that was pretty much the only fun part of the game to me. Have the quests that have been released recently been good?

I have so many though. I want to make a big collage one day
Finally did Dragon Slayer on OSRS and completed all the F2P content It's amazing how much more I've progressed in the short span of a couple months in OSRS while it took me like 6~7 years to reach this level in regular RS I was young and didn't understand how the games work :v: Maybe it's finally time to venture into member's content
if you've been playing runescape for that long and never gotten membership then you're severely missing out
-snip-
(Old school runescape) Looking to make some cash to save up for full dharoks while its cheap, among other things. What would be the best method to you guys? Yew logs are 450 each roughly, so I got my WC to 21 yesterday and im still working on getting it to 60 to cut yews in edgeville and eventually magic logs (1100 each) somewhere. The other option is fishing lobsters (450) or sharks (750). There is fire talismans (15000) from dark wizards, or whatever higher level monster drops them. At least then i can put some experience into combat. Or anything else?
So i started to get into OSRS a bit more recently, raised the hell out of Firemaking and whatever yesterday. did Ele workshop 1, Digsite, Tears of Guthix and the easy Varrock, Lumbridge and Kandarin tasks. have to say, although I'm not high enough to do the seers rooftop course yet, the 5% increase on marks of grace is nice for people who's beyond the target audience, even more so with higher headgear. think today im just going to try doing Shield of Arrav, Priest in Peril, Ghosts Ahoy, Plague City and ele workshop 2. maybe even Wanted? seems like a hassle with only 27 magic. any tips for a moderately cheap/money sustaining method other than just wastefully splashing? without slayer, mind you. EDIT: And Death to the Dorgeshuun if i can get lucky at HAM robes.
99 woodcutting masterrace
Got 85/86 in 07, CBA to do that shit again in 3 :suicide:

You can gain up to 40k firemaking xp overall from it. Not bad addition to firemaking training. :v:
