This is the best, you can get a decent combat level for doing some quests, then you can focus on skilling things that pays (unless you wanna get good drops, then hard grind your combat levels after the most common quests.)
I remember when i was younger and i even didn't understand english. I just mined random ores and killed lvl2 goblins even though i had some level 20 account
E: Some random guy gave me a 2h ironsword but i'm not sure should i use a shield or use the 2h
at your level now it doesn't really matter what you use
I wish 2-handed swords were more useful though, they're my favorite

its the same game but with more quests more bosses more everything and a combat system that isn't based on dice rolls.

The live game costs the exact same as 07, you know that right?
I will agree with the gross MTX though, however the absolutely -savage- community backlash seems to have taught jagex a lesson. Like most I'm fine with (and have even bought a few) cosmetic items/outfits but TH can swallow cocks and die.

on the MTX note, their latest promo is really nice. you basically get tokens from TH and you can trade them in for cool cosmetics like a golden cane with a cool standing animation, a hawk perched on your arm and other cool stuff. Gets jagex money, isn't pay 2 win in the slightest, and the items look cool.

I was being general (i know live still dicerolls) but the dicerolling is far less obnoxious and gross. I'd rather roll between having 800 or 1000 dmg instead 0 and 40 dmg.
and yeah it's pretty standard but at least combat actually engages you now. it's gotten far better in the past few months too, and infinitely better since it's absolutely awful release.

I dont mind standard mmo combat schemes...at least it feels like you're doing something in the game instead of clicking once and sitting there, or alt tabbing to reddit or someshit like you're hitting attack in adventurequest
neither methods of combat are original in any way
So, is the rs3 combat system like wow or something like that since you have skills that you can use etc.

I distinctly remember membership costing $5 or $6 a month back in 07, not the $9.49 a month that it is now.

i thought they said that if you now were unsubbed for more than 2 weeks you had to pay the new prices?
I really need to get some membership so I can go collect all the resources from my kingdom. When my membership ran out in september I dumped 7.5m in my coffers.

yeah the price has gone up but i'm still paying the cheapest price. feels great.
It's kinda frustrating that if you're not member you only have like 1/5 of the map for f2p players
i played f2p for 15hrs then i bought member
i got pissed at the skill restrictions
