don't neglect your non-combat skills and do lots of quests for the rewards, shortcuts, areas, and transportation they unlock
also train your magic to 45 so you have some teleport options available. walking everywhere sucks
Training to ~38 magic is the first thing I did on osrs, it's nice being able to one-click teleport everywhere with law runes in my bank
Lodestones are for lazy people

Magic is a good but can be an expensive skill.
Also aren't lodstones a Runescape 3 thing?
Here's how I get the basics done in Runescape (bare in mind i forgot most quest names etc.):
Combat quests to get my stats up, you might need to get to level 10 in each skill yourself just to be sure you can do the most basic quests, but then you're set. I'm pretty sure you can beat The Waterfall quest that gives you some insane stats for a level 13 combat guy.
After that, get some gear and beat the quests that is required for monkey madness. I'm not saying go straight for this but those quests required to do those can easily be done with some positioning in combat and you will unlock tree teleportation and so on. Plus you will require either training your ranged/magic which will be a good motivation to level that skill.
(You will most likely need 43 prayer for monkey madness, this is the toughest part of the entire thing but you can borrow others houses in Yanille for easy XP.)
After I did all of that (on OSRS) I just went skilling, I don't really like combat but you will probably need a bit of combat to get you going in the game of course.

Also after thinking I remembered my JAG questions and logged into RS3, have some stats:

My OSRS account is way better, but I don't have member anymore unfortunately :v:

Ok so I just remembered there are free worlds in OSRS now, have my stats there as well:

Teleportation spells aren't as important in RuneScape 3, considering that you have the free Home Teleport available for a great deal of cities and POI.
How much is members again? And what has changed in Rs in the last year or so?
It's funny how you can make some pocket money just by lollygagging around Grand Exchange
Sometime people just give you money if you talk to them
I got 100k the other day because some guy was tired of people spamming 'doubling money' and went 'fuck ill double your money in one trade'
I walked into Clan Wars and was the only person around level 80. I got hit for 49 by a 138 and cried as I went to go train. Fuck, man. The best PvP action I've ever got was killing bots at green drags.
started playing like a week and a half ago or something and now im lvl47
is this good
Theres no good or bad progression, it's not a race
[editline]22nd March 2015[/editline]
And there's other things besides combat level

Expensive but if done right full of profit.
Had 5m, then I got scammed. Hence the no 99 fletching :suicide:

Heavily populated worlds tend to have a lot of logs (oak and willow) in the Lumbridge general store logged by bots/power levelers. The unstrung bows sell back at like two coins more than the logs buy for, so you hop worlds and not exactly make a profit but not lose anything by fletching unstrung bows and selling them back.

a little under average tbh, you can easily speed up basic level progression within a week, but i imagine you have school or work that gets in the way, or you're lazy or simply don't spend a lot of time on rs.
i go to school yes
You can skip the early levels for skill with quests. Vampire Slayer for example is a F2P, pretty easy and fast quest.
I mainly used ranged at the time and my attack went from 1 -> 20 after the quest.
yeah i did that one it boosted my attack p much
thinking about doing waterfall quest
Dimensions of Disaster was pretty good. Rewards are a bit lame though.
The Waterfall Quest made me angry.
I'm terrible at figuring out processes and puzzles. The vast majority of quests I have completed were done so with the aid of the wiki.
i was so sad to log in after 2 years of not playing and see that unidentified herbs got removed ;c

It was either that or not be able to buy/sell herbs on the grand exchange, so the community voted on changing them.
After 1 week of playing, spent a lot of time at the GE flipping items since that's basically free money with minimal effort :v:
