Why do the rs forum avatars look so smug?
Right after I maxed my character I tried to do some boxing and after getting up like 40m I lost it all and quit. That was like 6 months ago and I kinda want to do more boxing. Did that combat update happen yet? Is boxing any different? Can someone gibe moni pls?

if by boxing you mean the duel arena, then it got a graphical update recently, but I don't think they changed much else about how it works

Not really. It runs in IE, so you'd get better performance in Chrome or whatnot.

Someone in my clan (Scrying Pool, shameless plug) said there was a five month delay on new quests until they get everything moved over to the new engine, and the first new quest would be whichever one was voted on in the Guaranteed Content Poll (Dwarves, Pirates, Gnomes).
I'll probably nix my sub this month, since there's nothing really worth it for me. Aside from that prayer thing...

So, I found out you can use an Xbox controller in the HTML5 beta today.
Here's what I learned:
You snap to roads, paths, that sort of thing. The pathing engine calculates this, so you move quite a bit more slowly than you do with normal mouse pathing. It's all done on the fly. If they keep it, it'll be optimized for speed.
It's forward and backward, with the automated systems and the camera position guiding you. There is no strafing.
The buttons do nothing. At this point, it's camera and movement only.
The camera is really, really smooth in it. Smoother than with the keys or the mouse. Also, you get a full 360 degrees of freedom. And yes, there is a sky!
So it's interesting... Especially considering they said they wouldn't do controller or WASD support a few years ago. Looks like we're getting one of those, what are the odds we're getting the other too? After all, the joystick controls work a lot like you would expect WASD to work, and the automated systems avoid any problems you would encounter in either.
Whats a recommended first skill to level max? I'm going for cooking right now and I am at about level 71 so far; should I keep going or is there an easier and cheaper skill?
